Marilynne made the most breakfast. Every day something different. She is a great chef and presents the food beautifully. The pool was refreshing and very clean. The hosts make you feel home, always there for a nice chat. When one guest didn't feel well, Marilynne looked after him. I also loved the old original building. The bathroom was brand new with wonderful italien tiles. Towels, bedlinen, everything so nice, clean and welcoming to feel home. I loved it there. It is very close to town, but because it was so hot I was happy driving around in my car. You can park your car on the property.

The whole house is historically preserved and so pleasant to be in. The breakfast was delicious (I am vegan so extra hard to cater for) and the staff were efficient, kind and thoughtful. The rooms were beautiful and had special touches such as a USB charging station on top of the bedside tables (don't have to scramble behind the bed to find a plug). The fridge was well stocked, the pool refreshing. There is a communal table for breakfast but there are separate tables if you don't want to engage with others. Beautiful aviary and lush foliage. I highly recommend. M

Each morning freshly made breakfast for all guests was served around a bit table where we got to know our fellow guests, compared travel plans and got the inside information, aided by the team from McAlpine House, on the best things to do.

McAlpine house is a bed and breakfast and doesn't have dinner options in the evening - which meant that we had to go out. Just a few more plates and utensils in the rooms would be great as there is a really nice area to sit outside at night and have snacks, but we just needed the plates and utensils. This is a small 'could improve more' in the context of an excellent venue.

Wonderful surroundings, tastefully furnished and spacious rooms. A true oasis with beautiful shady gardens. Lovely breakfast room with gorgeous artworks and lovely natural wood furniture. Delicious breakfast each morning with something different on offer. Marilynne was a gracious host and we felt very well looked after.

Nothing to dislike. Can walk to Chinatown but need a car or taxi for Cable Beach.

Pinctada McAlpine House is a tranquil, peaceful boutique hotel that is an absolute paradise in Broome. I love the antique-style wooden decor accommodation, and the beds are so comfortable. The rooms have all the comforts of home - TV, bathroom, shower, mini fridge, closet, chests of drawers, etc. I also loved spending all day sitting and swimming in the pool, or laying back on the lounges in the garden area. The property is situated amongst high trees which create a cosy canopy hideaway feeling with birds singing throughout the day. There is a continental breakfast served each morning between 7:30 am and 9am. Served are: homemade yoghurt (with fruit, museli and honey), brewed coffee, tea, cereals and toast. There is a different, surprise cooked breakfast each day (crepes, omelettes, eggs on toast with veggies, etc). The highlight of our stay was the gracious kindness and attentiveness of our host and manager, Ronaldo. He took such great care and interest in every individual guest to have the best possible stay. His restaurant recommendations are second to none. The property is so beautiful, tranquil and comfortable. It is also central, close to a bud stop, restaurants, and short walk or drive to markets, shops and beaches. You can take the bus or drive to Cable Beach, without having to constantly deal with the crowds and chaos when you get back. But Ronaldo's exceptional care exceeded expectations.

Absolutely amazing. The McAlpine Suite took me back in time to another world. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Ronaldo's cooked breakfasts every morning were super tasty and set you up for a day of sightseeing. Marilyn greets you upon arrival and was so helpful with tips of things to do and see. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone and plan on returning again and again.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, Ronaldo who really made our stay memorable. Lots of advice where to dine and places to visit. Breakfast was very good. Room was spacious and nice to stay in an historic home with character, very quiet and relaxing with pool & shady surrounds to rest up after a hot day out.

Bathroom was rather old fashioned, very spacious but would have expected better quality for the price paid

The location to town beach. Easy access to local bus. Renaldo was an excellent host with heaps of good knowledge of where to go and see. He also cooked a brilliant breakfast feast each day. Really nice garden setting and pool for quick dips! Room quite spacious with nice seating out front. (we had a Garden Unit). Pillows were very comfortable. All facilities were good and Renaldo was quick to remedy any concerns we may have encountered.

With back wall louvered windows were brilliant to allow for great ventilation but the chatter from the neighbouring house (went on to after 2:30am one night) and the occasional dog barks when their visitors arrived there was a bit off-putting when we getting used to the room but the overall sleeping experience was just great once you drift off into blissful sleep.

Wow!! We cant recommend this magnificent place enough. Marilyn and Ronaldo were the perfect hosts, and couldn’t do enough for you . Llewellyn , the gorgeous corgi was a pleasure and delight to keep us company. The breakfast was absolutely delicious… Such an authentic oasis right in the heart of Broone. We can’t wait to come back , we highly recommend Pinctada Mcalpiine House to anyone that wants a peaceful, quiet and relaxing holiday that represents the traditional Broome experience.

Absolutely nothing!!!

This is a beautiful historic and intimate guest house. The hospitality here, started months ago when I booked and made a few enquiries. Marilyn, the owner, generously spoke to me for 40 minutes or more outlying the layout of the hotel and making many useful and helpful suggestions re dining out in Broome. Gary , her husband , waited back to give us a very warm welcome ,even though our plane had been delayed by many hours. The highlight though was Rinaldo, who produced the most delicious breakfasts and always with a smile and a helpful suggestion on how to spend the day. The house is surrounded by a beautiful well kept tropical garden and has lots of nooks and crannies to seek a lovely time out in the shade. the pool is also great to have a refreshing swim in. The accomodation is close to town , restaurants, galleries and the bus stop.

Nothing- we loved it. This is an older style hotel so if you want sleek and modern resort style accommodation, it may not be for you… but if you want to immerse yourself in trying out the wonderful Broome architecture and relish in the history of Broome , you will be very happy here.
