Staff were very attentive and lovely. The rooms and restaurants were very clean! The buffet was really good, many options and variety! Loved how every day had a different type of cuisine daily so we never got tired of the food. Would definitely recommend going atleast going half board if you plan on having dinners at the hotel for the majority of your stay, as you do get value for money this way. The beach and proximity to the beach was amazing! We were surprised that the snorkelling, kayaking and other water activities were actually completely free for those staying at the hotel which was a massive bonus! We thoroughly enjoyed the pedal boat. They have a lot of sports and water aerobics on daily which is also nice. Would definitely recommend this resort and we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you so much ☺️

The only qualm we had which is more of a personal preference, is that the curtains in the room were not black out. As all the mornings were very sunny the curtains let in some light. Would be nice to have the curtain layer as blackout so those who prefer the sunlight could keep the netted layer open then those who prefer darker mornings to shut the black out curtains. But this is all just down to personal preference ☺️

The resort is huge and feels very safe. The hotel is pretty and the location is nice. The rooms are super clean, very stylish and the hotel supplies are nice. The food is absolutely delicious - there is live cooking.

The pools need renovation - there are broken tiles everywhere. Almost every server doesn't speak even basic English (they don't know words such as water, fork, spoon and e.t.)- only French, and this is ridiculous for me when you work in the sphere of Tourism. You have to pay for your drinks even if you pay for HB, even if you are all inclusive.. (for water too if you're HB!!) Nobody informed us when we were there, and it's not mentioned in the booking.com description - absolutely not professional.

Very friendly, accommodating and courteous staff - at the beach, restaurants, gym etc. Hotel has a pleasant and inviting atmosphere, facilities especially rooms are a bit dated but well maintained and equipped; beach is sandy and cleaned every 2-3 days; pool is large and prepared / maintained with care; Overall clear recommendation for a relaxed stay with kids, enjoying a property with nicely laid out garden & pool area, excellent food, great staff and a nice sandy beach

Even 100m / 300ft from from the coast, water is quite shallow and only 1m / 3ft deep; hence, I can't recommend this location for enthusiastic swimmers; swimming shoes are recommended in the water due to some stones, sharp corals, and sea cucumbers

A great location with plenty of activities to explore and overall the staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious, especially the buffet!

My only complaint would be with a few of the guys in charge of the activities (sports) area. They would organize pick me up games, such as beach volleyball, water polo and football to name a few, and the guys would be a bit too competitive. Some of my kids are not as skilled in these games but still wanted to play and have fun. In the end, a few of these workers would make fun of my kids, insult their skill level and then box them out, never letting them play. In my opinion, the activities people should be all inclusive, making sure the guests are happy and having fun, not just concerned about themselves winning all the games.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Sugar Beach in Mauritius, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with such warmth and hospitality. The resort itself is stunning, with beautiful lawns and meticulously maintained gardens that add to the overall serene and relaxing atmosphere. Every detail is taken care of, and the amenities are top-notch. A special mention goes to Chesley and Scyam, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Their attentiveness and friendliness truly made a difference, and we can’t thank them enough for their exceptional service. We can’t wait to return to Sugar Beach and experience this little slice of paradise once again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an unforgettable stay in Mauritius.

Beautiful hotel and beach. Friendly staff. Large Beautiful rooms. Great that the pools of the neigboor hotel could be used too. Use of boats (glass bottom or snorkeling, kajak...) included. Many aciticities and nice evening programm at the bar. Nice macaron and bottle of rum as a present when you arrive in the room.

* Hotel is too big (full even during wintertime) which makes the buffet crowded and less quality food compared to other 5 star hotels we were in at Mauritius. * We had 2 rooms (1 for the Kids and 1 for us), there was only a tv in our room, we dont use it only the Kids do. * As a large 5 star hotel one of the pools should be heated. They were all way too cold to use, nobody goes in... * The wine is way overpriced. Also the cocktails are expensive compared to some other 5 star hotels we were at in Mauritius.

The Resort is world class, comfortable rooms, spacious beautifully appointed gardens. Swimming pools are outstanding. Buffet meals are varied and plentiful, a fabulous spread.

Sadly the staff, particularly in the main restaurant, are not well trained, or in training, and refreshment orders become " hit and miss" as well as just forgotten. This became very frustrating and left a damper on our holiday. Drinks are also exorbitantly expensive.

So glad we spent the extra and booked at Sugar Beach Resort Mauritius. The resort ia even more beautiful than the photos on the website. The beach is pristine with beach chairs and umbrellas right at the water edge for the perfect relaxation. The water was crystal clear and the perfect temperature for floating and cooling off. Our second day we enjoyed the large adult only pool away from the main area with wonder lounge chairs. Don’t forget to look up at night and see millions of star floating above the palm trees, just magical. The buffet breakfast and dinner had everything you could think of with beautiful presentation. You are definitely spoiled when you are at this resort.

Everything is awesome

We loved sugar beach! Amazing friendly welcoming staff, standout resort on a stunning part of the beach. Great pool service and facilities and the food and drinks were so good (we were all inclusive and loved all restaurants equally). Would recommend a golf day out, the sunset paddleboarding (book ahead) and yoga classes. We can’t wait to come back!

The only thing that was initially a little frustrating was that we had booked a king room for 7 nights but on arrival we had a kids adjoining room with two beds. Housekeeping put the beds together but then the A/C controls and lights were blocked plus we could hear the people on the adjoining room. Considering we had booked the holiday 6 months ahead, it was a shame not to have the room we had booked. But otherwise not one single complaint, was one of our favourite holidays to date.

Such a beautiful resort - the location on the beach, experiencing the sunsets every evening a highlight! Our room was superb, located away from the hustle and bustle but not too far and sea facing. My kids enjoyed the kids club, the activities and the staff looking after the kids are amazing. The adult only pool was a nice treat while the kids were being entertained. The food was fantastic - (ok some nights better than others) seafood night, the best! Lots of drinks to choose from, and multiple locations to order from. I had mentioned at check in that I have visited the resort when I was a child myself and Scyam (operations manager) arranged a special croquet game for us, hats and all! All in all a wonderful holiday! Thank you sugarbeach!

Here comes the “but” - the service was inconsistent, I understand it’s peak time, but every other staff member was a trainee - it unfortunately showed. Won’t lie, but expected more finesse at this price point. Lastly, they need to bring in more loungers during their peak time - people reserving chairs in the middle Of the night, kinda ridiculous, and no one really to complain to about it!
