Excellent cooked breakfast and great cooked variety…certainly set us up for the day. Our room was clean and comfortable…although hot during heatwave. Portable air con unit would be good if possible instead of noisy fan…top floor was hot. Lovely big bathroom and lovely white fluffy towels…all sizes too! Location was excellent…a two minute stroll to the quay and a minute walk to the railway station to catch ferry to Isle of White and to visit Brockenhurst. We stayed two nights and didn’t need to use the car at all. Plenty of on-site parking too….which is a bonus Lovely staff and very helpful. The pub is very quiet, I was apprehensive when I saw all the Tv screens in the bar and in the garden. Couldn’t hear anything from our room…so very happy. We would definitely stay here again.

Top floor bedroom was hot, but it was during a heatwave. The floor fan was appreciated but it was noisy.

Quite simply ; it’s a home from home. I admire in particular the thought that has gone into making the bedrooms so incredibly comfortable and welcoming ; the linen is of exceptional;y high quality including full sized fluffy bath towels and face flannels, the condiments - shampoos, soaps etc - are top quality and the mattresses and pillows sublime . If the owners are reading this review, your standards of housekeeping are exceptional, 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️.

My only minor negative is :, after parking my car under the trees in the car park overnight , more than once now , there are quite a few birds roosting above. …. this needs to be looked into. Perhaps, a deterrent could be organized. ?

We booked a Friday night at the Bosuns Chair to attend the seafood festival, which is only about a 10-minute walk away – part of it a lovely stroll along the waterfront. I’ll admit, on first approach, I was a bit worried. Bosuns Chair doesn’t exactly jump out at you from the street, although it’s right across from the train station, which is definitely handy to know. However, the moment we turned into the gravelled car park at the back, I started to relax. Big trees, a small but tidy parking area, and to the left, an inviting outdoor beer garden with both shaded and open seating, plus a small area leading straight into the bar. Plenty of tables, TV screens, and everything well-maintained – it looked great and felt very pleasant. Check-in was smooth, and we were even allowed to check in about an hour early, which we really appreciated. We stayed in Room 8 on the top floor (around three flights of stairs – no lift, so pack light or consider it a bonus cardio session). But oh my word, what a beautiful room! Absolutely loved it. Every detail was thought through, right down to the lovely selection of products in the bathroom. We loved it so much we’ve already booked it again for 2026. Breakfast was fantastic. Great selection, and we both ordered the eggs royale, which were delicious. But the real highlight? The customer service. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, we felt genuinely welcomed. The team here truly makes this place shine – they’re friendly, professional, and clearly care about their business and their guests.

Our room.was lovely. Decor very nice and a beautiful big bathroom with nice toiletries and ample towels. Bed was very comfortable. It had a nice fan in room to keep us cool during the very warm night. Room had lovely big sash windows so room very light and airy.cooked Breakfast menu was good. Bar maid who checked us in was extremely friendly and explained everything to us with regards hotel facilities very well.

Breakfast waitress was polite and friendly but did not explain breakfast to us at all apart from offering menu. There was no juice on offer but after requesting it, I did get some. Hardly any choice of cereals and no yoghurt. We were not offered extra toast or extra coffee.

It was such a lovely room, good theme and space. They had a Jerk Chicken van on site which was excellent and breakfast in the morning was cooked fresh with good quality products. Even made my girlfriend and bacon sandwich for the room as she wasn’t feeling so great after the night before. Great to have parking and the train station so close to take you to Brockenhurst. Staff were so friendly helping us with our things to the room.

The parking was the only thing we could complain about, was down the back of the pub under trees and when we went to go the car in the morning it was covered in bird poo. So we had to pay for the car to be cleaned. Would be good to do something about the birds or cover the area.

The team both at check in and next morning at breakfast were warm and friendly and made us (me and my dog) feel very welcome. Couldn't fault the personal aspect. Breakfast was exceptional and set me up nicely for the day ahead! The pub is ideal in terms of location and I have visited on various occasions before although have never stayed overnight. Would certainly do so again if I am in the area.

The worst aspect was the car parking, it is quite cramped and I had to park under trees as there was no other avail space. Found out next morning that this wasn't a great idea - the local bird population had done their worst. Took quite an effort to get the car paintwork clean again.......... Next time I'd park out in the street and forego the more secure environment of the carpark. Otherwise the only very minor comment would be that the bathroom could do with a hook or rail to hang towels.

Loved the food! The menu doesn't overwhelm you with choice, and what is presented is fabulous. My single room was spotless. Beautifully decorated with unusual furniture choice that is modern eithout being clinical like a big group hotel chain. The shower was brilliant, too. Modern very clean and stylish. A choice of rain shower or traditional. Hot drink making facilities, hair drier, comfy bed, soft pillows, warm duvet, and extra blanket.

Dressing mirror is in the wrong place, a minor point and one I'll mention to the staff. The man in the next room blowing his nose so very loudly in the middle of the night!! Soundproofing is not good, but it means you can always get your own back on noisy neighbours 😉

Great location for exploring Lymington and close to the station for the train to Lymington Pier. The staff are all truly great and so helpful with parking and giving us directions. Had a wonderful breakfast in the garden the following morning again served by a very helpful and friendly girl. Breakfast was enjoyed by all 6 of us in our group who all commented on how good it was, especially the Full English and they were so helpful in adapting for vegetarian and gluten free members of our group. The management and staff really make this place.

Very central location shops and harbour nearby. An airy light fresh comfortable room with some pleasant views over the roof tops, very clean and fairly spacious. Lovely breakfast served by very friendly proprietor, overall a lovely one night stay.

We just stayed on the Sunday evening when meals are only served until 5pm or something, so we missed out on eating in the pub that night. Judging by the standard of the breakfast the evening meal would most likely have been very good and at a good price compared with other places near by.

Excellent location with onsite parking. Close to high street with plenty of restaurants and bars. Close to harbour. Bustling little town. Bosuns Chair was a very nice pub. Welcoming and helpful staff. Lovely room with all amenities and a few nice surprises. Hand cream, bubble bath as well as shower toiletries. Pure cotton bedding which made for a lovely restful sleep. Great breakfast choices. We opted for the Full English which was served up very hot. Delicious start to the day. They had an evening menu which also looked good.
