It is a very lovely area with green surroundings. We enjoyed the view during dinner and breakfast and the pool was really nice. Also the food in the restaurant was superb, as well as the breakfast, which offered a good variety. The staff was overall very friendly and spoke English and German as well, which was helpful. The room was well equipped and clean.

A few things need improvement. Some of the furniture in the room needs repairs, the wooden panels on the balcony are kind of dangerous really. My son got a splinter in his toe after walking barefoot on the balcony. I do think the restaurant prices are kind of steap. Given that the food was really good and the portions are huge, some might say it is ok, however I would have gladly eaten smaller portions for a lower price. Portions were hardly managable for me and my son. As an example: The only kids choice on the menu is fried turkey with fries for 19€, everything homemade and very nice. The portion however could feed a grown man. I don't really think that makes sense, since a lot goes to waste.

The location is absolutely gorgeous! The view from my room was spectacular, especially in the early morning. The food was good, both breakfast and their restaurant for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is a bit pricy for the quality of the food, but you're also paying for the gorgeous view and the convenience of dinning at the accommodation (I wouldn't eat there if I wasn't staying there.) The pool was nice. No complaints about water pressure in the shower of the comfortableness of the bed.

There were so many bugs in the room (spiders and mosquitoes.) I got more bug bites sleeping in that room 2 nights than over the prior 2 months combined. Some screens in the window would help. This wasn't from leaving the windows open myself but from staff leaving it to air out, or prior guests doing so and staff not removing bugs. The glasses in the bathroom were not clean, they had a small ring of brown sludge around the bottom; fortunately I noticed and cleaned them before drinking out of them. The sink drain in the bathroom has no cover, just a hole down the pipe. Hope you don't drop your ring or something in the sink because it will be gone.

Even though I will write some critical remarks later, the place is absolutely breathtaking. We only stayed one night as a transit to the sea, and it was worth it. A beautiful wine region, above which the guesthouse stands like a castle. And naturally, it offers an unforgettable view. The whole complex is small; many people come here just for the restaurant (which we can highly recommend). We experienced a lively afternoon where people sat in deck chairs, sipped their wine, and chatted. At night, it was peaceful. After a long car journey, it's great to have a swim in the pool, although I'm not sure about the information that it's heated. And everyone was very helpful, both at reception and in the restaurant. We appreciated their welcoming attitude towards our dog and the fact that the grounds are equipped with bins.

And now for what wasn't perfect. You need to be aware that the rooms are very small; I can't imagine staying for a longer period. Also missing is the commonly found equipment for making coffee and tea or a small refrigerator. But most likely, there isn't space for it. Also, the best times are over, and a renovation would be needed. Breakfast is decent, the products are quite good quality, but the selection is a bit limited. Nevertheless, we would gladly come again.

I spent a wonderful weekend at Vuglec Breg and truly enjoyed every moment. The atmosphere was relaxing, perfect for a short getaway. The highlight for me was definitely the pool – clean, refreshing, and with a beautiful view that made it even more enjoyable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and everything was well organized. I also appreciated the charming surroundings and the attention to detail throughout the property. Thank you for a great experience – I’ll definitely be back and will recommend Vuglec Breg to friends and family!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Vuglec Breg, a charming retreat nestled in the heart of Zagorje, just 40 km from Zagreb. The experience was nothing short of exceptional. The property offers a variety of traditional cottages, each exuding rustic charm while providing modern comforts. My room was impeccably clean, cozy, and provided stunning views of the surrounding vineyards and rolling hills. The staff at Vuglec Breg are truly outstanding. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, every interaction was marked by genuine hospitality and professionalism. The on-site restaurant is a culinary gem. Serving traditional Zagorje cuisine made from fresh, local ingredients, each meal was a delightful journey into regional flavors. The ambiance, with its traditional decor and cozy fireplace, added to the overall dining experience. Beyond the comfortable accommodations and excellent dining, Vuglec Breg offers a range of amenities, including a spa and wellness area, private sauna, and an outdoor hot tub, all designed to enhance relaxation and enjoyment.

We ended our Croatian vacation with two nights here. It was very relaxing. The room was as expected, with a nice view over the valley. The restaurant food was good, though I have to admit that after two weeks in Croatia, I just wasn't very hungry :-) I found the food a bit heavy for how I was feeling - gnocchi is a fav, but it's not a light meal. My wife's fish dish would perhaps have suited me better. We also had an evening with a wine flight that was really enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the sparkling wine! The pumpkin soup was enough food for me that evening. Though my wife did try out the pool since the weather was almost OK for that, the water was very cold. Given that it was the end of September, that's not terribly surprising! It's a beautiful view, though. We'll happily go back some day!

For us it was just a pit stop on the way back home so unfortunately we were not able to fully enjoy all the facilities. Very good location with a nice view (on the top of the hill), big parking, good food and great wine, there was also a pool and a spa centre. Would be nice to come back again and spend some time enjoying the life.

It would be nice to have a mosquito net on the windows in order to be able to keep them open and enjoying the fresh air without having mosquitoes in the room.

Excellent hotel converted from a farm. Superb infinity swimming pool. Beautiful view of the surroundings (hills, vineyards, forests, etc.). Excellent cuisine inspired by local tradition. There is a possibility to buy a few locally made produce - I personally recommend a sour bread, but local wines are excellent choice, including sparkling wine.

Frankly speaking nothing. The only thing which comes to my mind is to advise the host to include in the breakfast buffet some of your sour bread - and not only during dinner time.

Perfect location and great stay for a weekend outside of the city. Perfect idea for a weekend stay. Very green all around and you have the feeling you're really one with nature. Big rooms and great pool.

The food was good, but for breakfast, I just wish they would use more local products and give it more of a homemade vibe. The items were pretty standard, and given the nature that surrounds it, feels like they can improve on this.

I can't say enough how I loved the view and serenity of the place. I would probably managed to stay there much longer just to wander around seeing all the green grassy stuff around. Give me the bottle of wine and I am all yours again.

Mosquitoes mostly, those pesky suckers did quite a bit of damage to our kid who, by the looks of it, served great purpose as a bait.
