The staff are so friendly and lovely. Really helpful. I'm glad I had read about the 'vintage' decor before booking as it really is in a time warp - but in a nice way. It feels so personal to the owners - and everyone who works there seemed to be related to each other. Spoke great English. Enjoyed a swim in the pool each day. Air con was fine. We had a nice little balcony too - not all rooms do. You can walk up to the main village but it's up hill - quick and really convenient for young and/or fit people but a bit much for older unfit people like us! We ate in the restaurant one night and it was good.

Nothing. It's an old fashioned hotel - you've got to embrace that or don't book.

Mas de Vence exceeded all expectations, primarily due to the unparalleled hospitality of the owner. On the morning of my flight, after 15 frustrating minutes of trying to get an Uber, the owner spontaneously drove me to the bus station (15 minutes away) and even confirmed I was on the right bus. His incredible kindness saved my travel plans. Beyond this extraordinary gesture, the hotel boasts a fantastic restaurant and a lovely, quaint garden. An absolutely wonderful stay – thank you, Mas de Vence!

Location is superb if you don't mind a 250m walk up a steep hill. The small footpath takes you right from the hotel to the old town. The hotel is on a busy road but is not noisy, rooms have shutters. Our rooms had balconies. The staff were really helpful, letting us keep our bicycles in the laundry because a pro cycling team had taken up all the space in the garage. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice for €10

The bathrooms needed some TLC the shower curtain was falling down and the sealant was peeling. It wasn't hot but the room AC didn't seem to work (I like my room very cold)

The area was very nice but not our intended stay we had had a bad experience booking a different hotel as the booking . Com details were incorrect, we planned on stopping in nice but booking . Com stated the preferred hotel was 0.07 miles from nice,it was actually 27 mile from our destination so it ended up costing considerably more than we had planned so would hope they refund us,as well as towards the extra costs incurred due the their misinformation supplied

So great to have a well air-conditioned room. Staff all very helpful. Pool very clean and good size. Such easy access to Vence from the property’s garden. We loved Vence. Great restaurants and shops.

Not enough loungers at the pool and people were leaving towels on them to reserve them when they weren’t there, so in 3 days we only got loungers once. Very annoying. We ate one night in the restaurant and that was disappointing.

The hotel in Vence is located about 20 km away from Nice airport where we flew to and found it fairly easy to locate. (Good old sat nav) The hotel had all the amenities we required. The staff were extremely helpful, even when we arrive just before midnight nothing was too much trouble. The centre of the vibrant town of Vence was beyond our expectations. Quaint, narrow streets, plenty of restaurants serving excellent food and while we were there a fantastic evening market.

Great location, especially the footpath to the old town straight from the car park, only 280 metres. The free underground parking is a huge bonus ! Most of all the staff. Like all the reviews on here say, the staff are all exceptionally polite and helpful - very old school- which is a refreshing change! Toiletries in the bathroom and everything is very very clean. Oh and an amazing deep swimming pool, again very well kept and clean and considering this is the middle of August, the whole hotel was sooo quiet.

Hmmm, it’s true, it really does need updating - very 70’s - my son who is 24 thought it was cool as very retro 😂 Very brown and little tablecloth’s here and there -almost museum like. The air conditioning worked but didn’t blow cold air so in 34 degrees wasn’t great!Think of your grandmas house in the 1970s. Breakfast wasn’t much either but a short walk to all the fantastic cafes etc in the old town of Vence.

The room we were given was very large and the facilties were great. The acmeals I have had for a long time paired with fennel and green beans absolutely delicious. The staff were so friendly and ctual hotel was amazing as built into the rocks. Had very quirky areas where you could see the bare rocks within the hotel. Loved it. Food was amazing too. We had dinner both nights we stayed. The cabillaud (cod) was one of the best meals I have had for a long time - paired with fennel and green beans absolutely delicious. The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We will definitely stay next time we are in France.

A couple of areas possibly could have done with a bit of renovation (we do renovations and maintenance with our company) but this was insignificant compared to the positives. We are happy to help with any maintenance if needed :)

The location is great, staff is helpful and friendly! Vintage charm and details.

A little outdated hallway, low ceilings and garden can use some working hands. The price was a little high but I traveled in Busy season, it was still good.
