This was a fantastic stay. Adults only so it was very quiet and there are lots of quiet spaces to read your book. Five minutes from Altivo (which is a gorgeous little town), but their property is out in the olive fields under starry skies. Sandra and Kurt were very welcoming and our space was the cleanest we have ever stayed in - you “could eat off the floor”. The gardens are amazing - there is a fabulous pool and lots of fruit trees. They have a really good set up and our space was very private. They provide a scrumptious breakfast (but we were too full from the night before to eat a cooked breakfast!) so they provided homemade jams from their fruit trees for us to put on our toast. Try their Apricot jam, it is sooo delicious. We would be happy to recommend this stay to anyone wanting a quiet getaway. It was fabulous.

What did we not like? We did not like that we couldn’t stay longer!!!

What a wonderful place to completely disconnect! From the house to the pool, everything was so clean and well maintained that you can clearly see the love and care Sandra and Kurt put in this place. It was one of the most peaceful places I've ever been, and I'm already planning on going back. There was everything in the house, pans, towels, even a portable AC (which wasn't needed at all). Breakfast was full and had everything you needed and more, bacon, eggs, milk, bread, ham, jams, etc. The surrounding area was so quiet you could only hear the birds and the sheep that they have at the property (the cutest things) and Akita (the owners' dog) would make a very welcoming appearance once in a while too. There's nothing bad to say about Horta da Rosa. Congratulations to Sandra and Kurt for creating such an incredible place to be!

- We had a very comfortable and relaxing 3-nights stay at the property. It was very tranquil and quiet at night which we enjoyed a lot. - By just looking at the maintenance, cleanliness and orderliness of the property we can gauge the level of effort that have been going into it. - Sandra and Kurt are very welcoming, friendly and attentive - have asked us a couple of times if we need any extra food for breakfast even though the food was more than sufficient for us.

The perfect place to go if you need a break. The room is very comfortable and the surroundings are incredible. Well cared for grounds and an amazing pool. Great breakfast provided by the friendly hosts and lots of nice things in the area.

Everything was great

Sandra and Kurt are among the best hosts! they are warm, nice, and lovely people! the facility is spotless, cozy, and well equipped! it’s such a great place for relaxing, touring of wineries, and star gazing! We enjoyed the beautiful mornings and evenings by sitting on the porch with the fruits and olive trees surrounded us! Sandra and Kurt offered us their homemade olives, which was so delicious! We enjoyed every moment that we stayed there and was such a pleasure experience! We highly recommend this place! thanks again Sandra and Kurt!

. Quiet location but not far from Alvito, Viana or Vila Nova da Baronia where you can find several restaurants. . Host and hostess are very friendly without being intrusive. . Nice breakfast.

The high standard of the workmanship, cleanliness and maintenance of the renovated property was exceptional. We loved the comfy beds. Breakfast was superb. All topped off by the warm and friendly welcoming hosts Kurt and Sandra.
