An absolute gem of a hotel in a brilliant location. Staff were all incredibly kind throughout. We stayed for 6 nights and used Sigiriya as a base to go on an elephant safari, to Polonnoruwa, to Anaradhapura, to Dambulla caves, to climb Lion Rock and Pidurangula, to see Loris's and go on an evening boat trip and this was the perfect place to stay to do all of those as day trips and shorter excursions. The pool area is beautiful, shaded by trees and great to escape the heat of the day, we used it every day. The restaurant area is lovely, with calm live music playing in the evenings, and great food and drinks (we also had the breakfast included and this was very nice). But it is also right next to the restaurants in Sigiriya, which are literally a 2 minute walk. There is an ATM 200m down the road and the post office is 400m away. Apparently most people only stay in Sigiriya for a night or two but with the hotel being so tranquil and welcoming, we found it was the perfect place to base ourselves. We honestly couldn't see why others weren't staying for longer. All the staff made us extremely welcome throughout. Thank you very much for a great stay to all the staff, this really was a home away from home.

Clean rooms and clean bathrooms – everything was within walking distance of Lion Rock. The place had a cozy boutique vibe, and the staff was very friendly. They had decorated for our arrival to celebrate our honeymoon.

The breakfast buffet wasn’t anything special – apart from an omelette or fried eggs, the rest was pretty boring. The dinner buffet was the same; it lacked care and love. They could easily have made more authentic food with a bit more attention. Also, if something is on the menu, it should actually be available – and if it’s not, they should at least make sure to have it the next day.

Beautiful hotel near the entrance to the rock. Good buffet breakfast and dinner. Lovely, clean rooms. Staff were very friendly. There are loads of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Sigiriya has a really cool, laid back vibe to it. Worth a visit whether you're climbing Lion Rock or Pidurangala Rock just a place to chill for a couple of days.

Check out process was a mess. Bill was not clear at all. We had to go through the receipts. We found one thing that we had been wrongly charged for. I'm pretty there were others but I was late and had to leave.

Ehko Sigiriya was a fantastic place to stay! The room was clean, neat, and spacious—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The staff were super friendly, spoke excellent English, and truly engaged with guests. They showed genuine interest and went out of their way to make my stay smooth and enjoyable. The buffet was another highlight: diverse, tasty, and offering a great mix of local and Western dishes. Location-wise, it’s ideal: very close to the exit of Lion’s Rock, with shops, cafés, and restaurants just around the corner. Highly recommended!

We arrived earlier than expected and they allowed us to have early check in at limited notice. We were super tired from our flight so this was very much appreciated in the moment so we could get some sleep. The service and general attentiveness of all the staff was impeccable - truly an enjoyable stay! Plus the food was delicious! Thank you to Nilakshi, Udesh and all the team at EKHO Sigiriya :)

The shower had a slight sewage smell. We expected this from past reviews so this was not a huge problem but one to be aware of.

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. We made this booking last minute and were welcomed warmly. They let us check in early and upgraded the room. The room is lovely! There’s lots of places to put clothes and items, the a/c works well and there’s a ceiling fan, the bed is comfortable and the sheets are fresh, the shower is clean and warm. We had the Sri Lankan breakfast today and it was incredible. The pool area is calm and inviting. Special thank you to Shanta who has provided us with great care since we arrived. We would absolutely recommend Ekho Sigiriya!!!

After some confusion with the rooms - they weren't quite what I was expecting - the staff bent over backwards to ensure we had everything we needed and were happy, which we were.

I was not expecting the garden view rooms to be facing onto the main road - the photos online do not really illustrate that. However it wasn't a problem in the end.

Great hospitality! We arrived after a long flight + a car drive from the airport to the hotel and were extremely hungry. When we asked for lunch recommendations, the staff prepared us a free meal (salad and french fries)!! The food was very delicious The female staff also showed us the best place to see the Sigiriya Rock. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Occasionally the power went out but that’s out of the hotel’s control. There was some black dust(?) on the bed.

We had a great experience. Lovely and quiet place, good breakfast, very close to restaurants and Lions Rock. We were travelling with our 5 yo son and we had an unexpected extra bed in the room as a courtesy, nice touch. The staff do their best to make you feel comfortable. Kasum was very kind and profesional, and helped us a lot to organize our safari and taxi to our next destination. Recommended.

The place was wonderful. The room was very clean and gave a cosy vibe. The staff were friendly and supportive. The highlight of the place was that this was closer to the Sigiriya Rock.

The prices are a bit too high for beverages, and even a water bottle was charged with a bigger price. We had the breakfast there and some items were good but some were disappointing. The swimming pool could have been cleaner.
