The historic common room is an excellent place to have an apéro in the evening, and breakfast in the morning. The pool is also a refreshing break from the heat outside. The modern bathrooms with spacious showers were a welcome surprise, but what stands out most about this property is the personable service that puts you at ease immediately. From chilling the wine we purchased for a nightcap, to helping us secure dinner reservations, the staff were helpful and easy to talk to. If we return, we will happily rebook at the Abbey.

The stairs in the tower were an excellent reminder to leave nothing in your room that you would need for the day. They are narrow and medieval, but at least help burn off calories from wine tasting.

We stayed in the Abbaye for 2 nights and really enjoyed the special atmosphere of this former monastery. It is quiet and the air conditioning was very useful during this heatwave. We also enjoyed a fabulous breakfast served by very attentive staff. Unfortunately, we could not take advantage of the great cellar for a glass of wine as we had already done quite some winetastings during the day. Highly recommended!

Nothing! Having its own restaurant would have been nice, but there are so many excellent restaurants in Beaune that this is only a very small miss.

This was my second stay at Abbaye de Maizières and I was very excited to share it with my family this time. The only one room that could accommodate all four of us was the suite "Saint Bruno", and it had two separate lofts, a common living area, and one bathroom. The view is wonderful of the rooftops and the cathedral.

The shower area is open, with no door and the bathroom would get very wet and messy after 4 showers. The bathtub is a jet tub and was not maintained or cleaned very well, there were parts falling off of it and it had an odor when the jets were engaged.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is accommodating and friendly. Our stay was a unique and memorable experience. The hotel represents the quaint town beautifully.

The bathroom mirror is quite small and positioned high with no actual light over the mirror, making it difficult to see when doing makeup. There is a side mirror that can be pulled forward, though, which helps. There is not much shelf space to hold things like rollers, makeup, etc. and very limited mirrors in the room.

*Please note- we used our daughter's booking account, thus the guests were John & Sharon...not Cassandra. Beautiful and unique accommodations. The main lobby/breakfast area was breathtaking. We've never had a candlelit breakfast before...that was special. Conveniently located. The room (Clairvaux) was spacious and comfortable. The food and breakfast staff were excellent.

Unfortunately, our first impression was not good. It was hard to identify the hotel entry door as the door was locked (approx. 6 pm). We rang the bell and the front desk representative (male) answered the door and was clearly annoyed. He was not welcoming at all!! This was disappointing since we specifically chose to go to Bourgogne vs Bordeaux because of your hotel (found it on line). Also, we could not get into the pool area...as our keys did not work? Our time there was limited, so we didn't ask for help. Overall it was a great experience...as the morning staff and accommodations were top notch.

Charming architecture, excellent location, exceptionally well renovated, wonderful breakfast, charming and helpful staff, comfortable beds.

4 sets of TVs were unpleasant and highly unnecessary, spotlights were a terrible choice for the living room - soothing soft lights by the sofa would up the comfort factor, dirty bathtub (hair clogged), a toilet brush would be good.

Everything have stayed many times Breakfast is wonderful. Most Staff are friendly and helpful.

The man at Checkin was rude and if we hadn’t stayed her before we would have be turned off enough to not stay again. However we have stayed here many times and the staff have always been friendly and helpful so maybe this was just “one of those days”

Fantastic location close to the Hotel Dieu. Amazing building very imaginatively restored. Room very comfortable with a very well appointed bathroom. Enjoyed the subterranean swimming pool - small but beautifully lit and very atmospheric. Excellent breakfast served in a vaulted dining room. Unique experience.

Bedroom wall were a bit thin. Didn't seem to be a lot of staff around.

The pool was very impressive and a lovely historical building

The floors were very thin, to be expected from such a historical building! We were next to the pool and as such it was quite damp and the smell was a bit strong. But again, these were smaller inconveniences

beautiful building, probably the nicest place i have ever stayed.

stairs are treacherous, but part of old building charm. might be a problem in just a few more years for me so might now be for others. really cannot find fault with this place, its staff. etc.
