The setting is beautiful and restful, particularly the gardens. The property also has a wealth of sitting rooms for relaxing indoors. The architecture of the main building is glorious. Stay in this if you can. Some guests were in outbuildings which seemed a bit far from the main Abbaye. The staff were very helpful, especially with moving baggage in/out.
The bistro dining option could be available on more nights of the week. Most nights it's gourmet or a room service platter. The nearest outside dining options are in Chateauneuf which is worth a visit if you have a car but it's about 15 minutes away up some narrow country lanes.

A beautiful Hotel. Wonderful environment, beautiful building decor and gardens. Restaurant very good, 4 course Gastronomique with wine pairing worked very well. Knowledgeable and charming Maitre D. The food was delicious. Superb and comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast fabulous with choice of cooked eggs and much more! A great stay in a glorious place.
An unexplained, long wait between check in and being shown to our room. But a welcoming glass of Fizz on arrival was offered and very gratefully accepted and was very nice. But we still don’t know why we waited nearly 30 minutes. Dogs are made very welcome. However, we don’t really enjoy sharing hotel spaces with them for many reasons.

The location is amazing and the Abbaye is absolutely beautiful. We had a Junior Suite which was huge and luxurious. Staff very friendly and professional and our 2 dogs were welcomed with such warmth. Special shout out to Sebastian.
It’s a high price point and in this occasion our evening meal wasn’t maybe at the standard it should have been. Similarly breakfast was good but not exceptional and for the price-point the overall dining experience could have been better.

Food excellent, room great, hotel location wonderful
Booking.com said the room had a "hot tub". In French this translates to a "Jaccuzzi bath" so this was a disappointment. We were unable to get the bath to work and assume that it had been disabled due to Hygiene issues which are common with these baths in hotels. Most have been taken out ! Staff were very un helpful at this point and looked as if they had faced this issue many times from other guests.

Beautiful property and location. Nice separate suite. Very good gourmet restaurant and amazing breakfast.
The suite was not properly cleaned - there was dust and hair in the bathroom. The soap container was empty. The receptionist helped with our luggage but has not explained anything about this beautiful historic property or the shared spaces around our cottage. The restaurant is nice but a bit overpriced.

The setting is just unbelievable and the nature is crazy beautiful - took some of the bikes and could ride on the site. Hasd lovely dinner in a village nearby - Chateu Nuf - was an amazing experience.
Options for a light snack is not available - it is either a EUR145 dinner or no other options. Would think for a 5-star hotel there must be a limited in-room dining menu available.

Wonderful building and grounds
When I made the online reservation for a junior suite, it was for 2 beds (one King/Queen and one sofa bed). At check in, reception said this was not requested and not in their records, so cannot be done. So I showed my reservation record and they agreed to make up a sofa bed. But it was possibly one of the most uncomfortable sofa bed I have slept in.

The beautifully restored building sits in a magical parkland setting. Its like living a fairytale. Our room was delightful with a gorgeous view over the grounds. The staff attended to our every need. They were very friendly, not pretentious at all.
The only draw back is the lack of a lift, although it’s understandable. Our room was on the third floor, so we just had to take it easy climbing the stairs, which thankfully weren’t too steep.

Food. Ambience. When we arrived we realised that we had stayed there before. The previous owners were very nice but undercapitalised - in fact they tried to sell the property to me. Current managers look experienced and have done well. Decent value for money.
Location isn’t great and on leaving we got snarled up in Tour de France road closures (for which we can hardly blame the hotel!).

The Abbaye is such an exceptional property. The place is stunning, the staff welcoming and gracious. The food exceptional. I came with my Family and we adored everything about the place, so magical and relaxing. I definitely will return again.
I cannot think of anything.
