A beautiful Hotel. Wonderful environment, beautiful building decor and gardens. Restaurant very good, 4 course Gastronomique with wine pairing worked very well. Knowledgeable and charming Maitre D. The food was delicious. Superb and comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast fabulous with choice of cooked eggs and much more! A great stay in a glorious place.

An unexplained, long wait between check in and being shown to our room. But a welcoming glass of Fizz on arrival was offered and very gratefully accepted and was very nice. But we still don’t know why we waited nearly 30 minutes. Dogs are made very welcome. However, we don’t really enjoy sharing hotel spaces with them for many reasons.

The beautifully restored building sits in a magical parkland setting. Its like living a fairytale. Our room was delightful with a gorgeous view over the grounds. The staff attended to our every need. They were very friendly, not pretentious at all.

The only draw back is the lack of a lift, although it’s understandable. Our room was on the third floor, so we just had to take it easy climbing the stairs, which thankfully weren’t too steep.

Wonderful building and grounds

When I made the online reservation for a junior suite, it was for 2 beds (one King/Queen and one sofa bed). At check in, reception said this was not requested and not in their records, so cannot be done. So I showed my reservation record and they agreed to make up a sofa bed. But it was possibly one of the most uncomfortable sofa bed I have slept in.

Food. Ambience. When we arrived we realised that we had stayed there before. The previous owners were very nice but undercapitalised - in fact they tried to sell the property to me. Current managers look experienced and have done well. Decent value for money.

Location isn’t great and on leaving we got snarled up in Tour de France road closures (for which we can hardly blame the hotel!).

We loved the garden, it is very beautiful, very quiet, the room is very comfortable. Good value for money. We will come back.

We arrived at 9pm and ask to have a diner. We couldn’t go to put our suitcase to the room we had to go straight to the restaurant . I wish I could was my hands. Not flexible.

Staff very accommodating. Really enjoyed meeting one of the new owners, Michael. Ate outside at bistro. Loely food. My friend wasn't feeling well and they sent a tray up to the room quickly and with no fanfare.

I had requested separate beds as I was traveling with a friend, but not a partner. When we arrived, it was one bed, but the staff fixed the problem very quickly and with a big smile.

Not much to do there so must prepare plans. Also the menue is very limited but there are great options in the area. The breakfast should have more variety and also the hotel should yreat the guests with daily fruits or something else.

The old abbey has been restored with good taste. It is always a treat to stay there and enjoy a great diner in the excellent restaurant. The premisses are impressive. Also nice to be able to charge an EV.

Well, it is definitely good value for money, but so much value comes at a steep price. Always looking out for nice offers when we are in the neighbourhood.

Stunning The grounds are exceptional Such a charming property

In all honesty I wish we had upgraded to a better room . No shower door in bathroom made it very difficult to shower ! But that is our only gripe

The property is breathtaking and you feel a bit like royalty staying there. The breakfast was excellent and we really enjoyed eating at the bistro. The staff was extremely accommodating.
