Great location, beautiful scenery everywhere you looked. Could easily walk to the village and beaches. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent, one of the best hotel for breakfast I’ve stayed in!

We had pre booked the Wild Spa which was ran by the hotel and was told that this has been closed which was a real shame- we were told this is because of the storms which wasn’t the case! So we would have preferred the open and honest reason of why it had been cancelled. We would have liked the spa facilities to be open. When we arrived reception staff did not go into detail and what was included in our stay, this we felt could have been better. The walls in the rooms were very thin so could hear everything! We also did not have air con in the room, there was a fan but this did not work! This was the same as the tv!

Property was nice and clean. Was sold the idea it was a suite. It’s basically a spacious one bed apartment! With a en suite and no other toilet. Lift didn’t work which was an inconvenience getting stuff in and out especially with a toddler. I asked the maintenance guy about the lift. I said I bet it’s been broken for months, he said yes! So I asked the girl on reception and she said it only broke a couple of days ago and it was waiting a part! I said the maintenance guy said it was months. With that she went bright red and didn’t comment ! Staff were all very nice. Can’t fault them at all! We paid roughly £600 a nice. I would say £300-350 is about right. Felt it was a bit of an over sell in there behalf.

Lift not working, out door pool is a bit dated.

Room was lovely we had a balcony suite. The space on room & on balcony was great and view was lovely. Staff were fantastic, helpful & polite. Breakfast was tasty too.

Maybe nicer furniture outside would be nice, looked a bit tired. I'm not sure the 'cosy rooms' are worth the money charged (we had one for the kids) they are small & so I'd say if i was staying again i'd not get anything less that the suite but it's a splurge and a treat as is expensive. Also outdoor pool wasn't open which was a shame as boiling that weekend but was out of season so can understand why.

The moment we arrive staff were accommodating and lovely. Reception were really helpful. Swimming pool was great along with sauna and steam room facilities. Highly recommend the breakfast it was delicious and the restaurant was lovely. Close to the beach but it’s a bit of a walk!

- The bed was really uncomfortable. Like we’re talking sleeping on a plank of wood. We both got no sleep for the 3 nights we stayed the mattress was that bad. Really noisy outside as well you can hear cars as well as people walking past. Cleaning could also be better - Drinks are expensive in the bar - Adult swimming is supposed to be 7pm-9pm, however there were still kids in the pool around 8 despite the lifeguard asking them to get out. They just kept hiding. This was frustrating and would have preferred the staff to do something about this as we came during adult times swim due to the daytime being too busy and kids splashing around.

The breakfast was superb and the staff were excellent. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room surpassed our expectations - they were very clean and we used them every day. The staff were all very friendly and helpful which all helped to make our stay very enjoyable.

We only had dinner on the first night but we were a bit disappointed by the lack of choice/variety for a 4 star hotel. The 'cosy' room lived up to its name! It was quite adequate and had all the facilities we required. It reminded us of a Premier Inn room with the bed being that much smaller which we had expected anyway. We had a problem with the TV during our stay when we could not get any sound on the programmes. We reported this to Reception and the problem was dealt with efficiently. The TV was on, with sound, when we returned from our day out. However when we switched it on again there was no sound. We gave up on this and my husband resorted to using his iPad.

A very comfortable stylish hotel in a low-key Scandi way. Wonderful staff . Excellent breakfast. Dinner was very good - we ate there 2 nights. Nice ambience in all the common areas. The courtesy minibus took us to Rock to catch the ferry to Padstow. Lovely outdoor heated pool - just long enough for serious lap swimmers. Nice room (twin) with great shower!

Window only opened a small amount from the top - would have liked more fresh air. The burning biomass smell woke me up one night. Not hotel-related , but beware of the Polzeath Sea View Car Park, just down the road. I was lumped with a heavy fine after 'hovering' there for about 15 minutes whilst my friend ran over to the supermarket one evening. There was nowhere else to park/prop. I didn't think it would be paid parking in the evening. Every car is photographed upon entry which is not obvious.

Breakfast was fantastic. Great food and service. Poached eggs simply perfect. However the dinner menu was a little limited. Some more healthy salad options would be a lighter alternative.

Our room was very warm. The plug in air blower needed to be reset every two hours throughout the night. Appreciate all children enjoy using the indoor pool and spa facilities, but three children using water pistol/shooters across the pool inhibited other swimmers and another child learning to snorkel with his dad. One of the sauner’s door did not close properly so did not get very warm.

Although I slept well in the bed I was not a fan of the mattress which was divided into two presumably to allow it to be converted to a twin I fell down the gap several uncomfortable times The mattress protectors were folded under the sheets and rather lumpy

Everything was great, room was lovely, outdoor pool heated, spa was a treat, breakfast had a great range. Brilliant location

shame the spa was not fully finished and this wasn’t stated at time of booking! issue with parking & a very rude aggressive guest whilst I was trying to load my two kids under 3 into the car. he then proceeded to park across two spaces for the next two days even though he didn’t need them both, I know this isn’t the hotel issue but I think the parking spaces right outside the suites should be allocated to them as it’s quite confusing and doesn’t make sense. unfortunate horrible encounter in front of my children.

Breakfast was delicious, excellent quality and variety. Nice to have real bread offered and not just supermarket sliced bread Large superking bed in our room was a bonus. Outdoor heated pool - lovely very friendly helpful staff nice tea/coffee tray well stocked in the room room and bathroom very clean, modern new bathroom

squeaky toaster in breakfast room constantly making a noise nowhere to sit with a coffee or evening drink outside in the lawned/garden area, only option to sit on the terrace above reception but can't see the wonderful gardens and views from there
