Lovely house in a quiet corner of serene beautiful countryside, lovely hosts who couldn't do enough for us. Fantastic house, open plan with everything you need for a base to explore, or a warm cosy hideaway to escape the day to day of whatever life you have. Honestly one of the best B&Bs I've stayed in, really it's a super friendly guesthouse, Louella didn't stop offering us tea, drinks, assistance and really anything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The dogs were lovely too, especially Molly, a real people pleaser. Would go out for my way to stay again if I'm ever even close to the area.
I'd have liked to stay longer.

We stayed for 3 nights at this remarkable place. Louella and Robin are truly great hosts who made us feel at home in their oasis of beauty and comfort. Our room was large, beautifully decorated and super cozy. Breakfast was excellent and included good company, interesting stories and many laughs as well as fresh, tasty food. There are numerous options for day trips from the B&B to get the real Cornish experience. Highly recommended!
Everything was great

A dream from start to finish. Such welcoming and fascinating hosts, if you get a chance to sit down and chat with them, do! You’ll be amazed with what they have to share. The surroundings of the house is just incredible. We stayed in the garden hut and it was a little piece of magic. So cosy, we didn’t want to leave! Take a short work up to see the lovely Gloria.
Nothing!

We had a fantastic stay at the Old Deer House. The hosts Robin and Louella were amazing, always checking if we needed anything. You could spend days speaking with them, enjoying the views and their dogs are delightful! My husband was especially happy hearing stories Robin had to share. They really are a remarkable people which you will find when you also stay with them ! 10/10!

The breakfasts were excellent, selection was offered. The peaceful location in beautiful surroundings Helpful directions from the owner particularly helpful if no SatNav in vehicle. The beds were very comfortable. The Hosts welcoming and helpful. The Moors on the doorstep. Places of interest not far away.
We found nothing to dislike at this house or location. the owners were friendly and welcoming. In my opinion the accommodation is up to a good class Hotel. Plus all the extras one does not receive at a Hotel.

Myself and my husband stayed at the old deer house for two nights, Louella and Robin were amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The icing on the cake for us had to be the hot water bottles in our bed every evening before we got back. Can not praise this little gem enough. We will certainly be back x
Absolutely nothing

Amazing hosts, wonderful hospitality, and a beautiful home. Luella and Robin really went the extra mile to make sure our stay was perfect at all times. They are fascinating, inspirational people with endless stories....we could have listened to them for hours. The Old Deer House is stunningly located, and the views are spectacular.

Robin and Louella are such wonderful people and amazing hosts. Very accommodating and easy going, also super helpful with bookings for food and sights. Breakfast was home cooked and really delicious. Nice airy room and a big, comfortable bed to tug into at night. It was just such a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. There was always time for tea and a chat...It was just a perfect place to spend a romantic getaway.

The location is stunning as you should expect after travelling about 20 minutes off the main road, with wide views over the moors. The most appealing thing of our stay was that we were treated as if we were just friends of the family rather than paying guests. We had the run of the house when our hosts were elsewhere. Robin Hanbury-Tenison has been an explorer and author of remote parts of the world all his adult life while Louella is a fund of local Cornish knowledge. She also cooks the best scrambled eggs we have ever come across in all the B&Bs we have stayed.
One has to travel quite a distance for dinner and lunch and there are no pubs in the immediate vicinity as this is a Methodist area.

Warm and welcoming owners for whom nothing was too much trouble. A top notch, freshly prepared breakfast made with first class ingredients. All in the most beautiful home matched only by the glories of the surrounding landscape. Fabulous.
It was perfect.
