Warm welcome from Chris and Heidi. Interested in why we were here and recommend excellent taxi service (Rogers) to ferry us back and forth to Bocconoc. Very comfortable bed, huge tray with selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, biscuits... Excellent breakfast with superb selection of teas, coffees, cereals, fruits, juices., yoghurt... The cooked breakfast lacked only one thing, baked beans! Purists would say baked beans have no place in an English Breakfast....and in that case nor do hash browns! I should have just asked and am sure Chris and Heidi would have popped over to the Co-op to get a tin (Branston please)! We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Penrilose B&B. Do exactly what it's meant to. Great Bed & Breakfast@

We had a wonderful stay with Chris and Heidi at Penrose. Everything was immaculate and nothing was a problem. They gave us lots of great ideas for our week long stay. This has to be one of the very best bed and breakfast places we have ever stayed in. The breakfasts were so tasty and filled us up for each day’s adventures. If we are ever back in Cornwall we will certainly come here again.

There was nothing to not like.

The B&B is stunning and absolutely clean with beautiful small garden. View of my room is exceptional. We love the breakfast buffet which is included and prepared by the host.

The only negative thing is that car parking space is a bit small when the B&B is full. Having said that, I should point out that the host came out in person to guide me through whenever I left and arrived the B&B, which was very considerate and made me happy.

A proper old-school English B&B in the best possible sense and a great start to our holiday. They had really thought of everything. Welcomed us warmly, gave us all the information we needed, then made themselves scarce until breakfast. Unique house and general set-up which clearly caters to all types of people on all sorts of trips. Everything spotlessly clearn and a fantastic view from our bedroom window. Close to the Eden Project, which we were visiting the next day - even closer via the short cut (thanks). We recommend The Globe pub 5 minutes walk away where we had a really good meal.

The breakfast was very good, but the coffee could have been punchier. The sensor light in our little lobby was very bright in the middle of the night.

I loved it all! This place is a true gem. Staying at Penrose was like walking into a dream. Chris and Heidi are the absolute kindest and best hosts. The room i stayed in was so charming and spacious. It had all of the amenities listed plus many more. The breakfast was amazing, a true English breakfast. Lostwithiel itself is now one of my favorite places Ive ever visited. 100%, 10/10! Highest recommendation!! :)

It was a really nice place to stay with a great view and they were very friendly and really went above and beyond in everything. They are so helpful and willing to help in anyway and very approachable when we need something. The breakfast was delicious. They were also very accommodating with us having a dog giving her lots of strokes which she really enjoyed.

None loved everything about it

This was a proper old fashioned bed and breakfast of the highest standard. The owners met us at the door on arrival and assisted with our parking, luggage and any questions about the house and area. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean. We had a choice of breakfast options that we booked in advance and these were delivered to the dining room when we arrived in the morning.

We are vegans and the options were limited but I would imagine for meat eaters, the breakfast was fabulous. I don't expect the same treatment as a vegan and what we got was well cooked and very tasy.

We couldn’t fault our three night stay at Penrose B&B. It is located on the edge of Lostwithiel on a short hill but within easy walking distance of the town centre, pubs and restaurants. The owners Chris and Heidi were very welcoming and would go the extra mile with any help you needed. The breakfast was cooked to order so always hot and fresh. Our bedrooms and bathroom were clean and spacious with plenty of storage. The car park is small but big enough to accommodate the guests.

On arrival (over 1 hour early), with enough parking for 4 cars, we were greeted by Chris and Heidi, who were lovely, very friendly, and said it's fine, our room was ready, Chris helped with suitcases, took us in and both explained everything we needed, gave us a map of the village and where we could get evening meals, shops etc, which i think is a lovely touch, our room was a good size and clean, with everything we needed a kettle many different drinks and complimentary biscuits, hairdryer, corkscrew, glasses, TV free WIFI. The shower room was lovely and big. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, fruit, yoghurt, nuts, cereals, jam & marmalade (home made by Heidi), which were lovely, toast, and a choice of cooked food too. The B&B is in a good location for travelling to many different places around Cornwall, by car or train. In our room there was also a comprehensive guide to many attractions that you could visit. Chris and Heidi seemed to have thought of everything.

The B&B was on a very steep hill. If anyone had had mobility difficulties, they would not have found it easy to get there, as was our room, at the very top of the house with stairs access only, (but saying that it was just a slight inconvenience for us) maybe this should be pointed out in the description.

Welcomed on arrival with interest, warmth and understanding. Map provided and local recommendations made. They sold Lostwithiel very well. Room was comfortable, with wi-fi good enough for me to run a Zoom meeting for an hour. Lots of lovely artwork and home produce to savour, or even buy. And breakfast was superb, as promised!!

Car parking was a bit tight but it was the best it could have been given the space available. It didn't really present a problem to us but we were there first.
