Overall great for a break with a toddler. The hotel is on a nice scale and feels comfortable, homely and unpretentious. We liked the division of the dining space into couples and family which meant we felt very comfortable eating there with our toddler (they also provide kids plates, bibs, chairs etc which is good). We liked the family room with sea view, very comfortable size and beds. Location is fab with lovely views and you can walk from the hotel to Fowey village and the beach (steep back uphill though!) which gave enough entertainment, lunch options etc. The pools and 5pm story time were also a big hit. We didn’t really use the Den childcare but did visit the room and it’s got lots of toys and games and the staff were nice. Overall, very relaxing.

The room decor/furniture is stylish but shabby around the edges, that was ok for us as low pressure with a toddler, but the rooms are expensive and you might be disappointed if a couple. I would also have liked easier access to plain water and milk (or more provided in the mini fridge) rather than having to ask each time.

Extremely family friendly and service was fantastic. Very impressed with rooms. Great touches like crabbing equipment provided for children.

Indoor pool wasn’t particularly clean and room for massage wasn’t sound proof so a little noisy.

Overall, a fantastic experience and I honestly can't fault anything. Staff went above and beyond to ensure we had what we needed. The room and facilities were exceptional. We stayed at the hotel as our engagement celebration and the hotel were incredibly helpful and supportive in plans I wanted to make. The experience was made even more special by the upgrade and champagne, we will most certainly be back!

We came as a couple but as it's a family hotel, at times the number of children created lots of noise in the restaurant so I'd suggest eating a little later (for breakfast and dinner) to avoid this!

Staying at Fowey Hall was an unexpected delight, and we were thrilled to choose it for two nights to celebrate a very special occasion. The hotel, an historic building beautifully renovated and expanded over the years without losing its charm, is located near the top of the hill, overlooking the town, and with a steep but pleasant downhill walk to the old town. The parking is withing the premises. It's hard to list all the things we loved, but the surprise began the moment we stepped inside, walking into what genuinely felt like an English Manor (which it once was!). The staff truly stood out; they were exceptionally and authentically friendly, always ready to help with any request. Our room was very spacious and with a balcony, complete with luggage stands and comfy chairs, and the equally roomy bathroom boasted top-notch toiletries, huge towels, and robes – nothing was missing. Breakfast was an elegant buffet style with plentiful and healthy options, complemented by delicious made-to-order items. While we didn't have swimsuits for the outdoor heated pool, a major highlight was the classy, portable dry sauna installed in the garden overlooking the town. Wrapped in the provided robes, we simply walked over – it was just amazing! The garden chairs were also a lovely touch. One of our days ended with a late stop at the bar, where barman James was incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive to our requests offering cool drinks (the wine caipirinha was delicious). Fowey itself is a very cute town with great pubs (we loved The Ship Inn and The Galleon Inn) and a few restaurants, not to mention a Cornish Bakery for those beloved pasties.

Beautiful hotel, exceptional. The property was luxurious and had a warm and welcoming feel. We are always a little worried about bringing our children away because sitting still and keeping quiet is no fun for little ones! But here they didn’t have to at all, the stay was designed from start to finish with children in mind and creating an atmosphere where children could be children and play, and explore the games rooms and library and feel comfortable in their own rooms, and not have to stand to attention at meal times, all whilst giving parents the feel of a true break and luxury experience. So delighted that we picked here for our weekend away for my husbands birthday. They were to helpful if helping me to arrange little surprises here and there for the birthday boy and my five year old will never forgive me that we had to leave!

That we couldn’t stay for longer!

Everything! The hotel is modern but cosy with lots of lovely little nooks to relax in. We stayed in a 2 bedroom Family Room with Sea View but it actually had an extra little room! Win win! The room was warm & welcoming. It was clean & had everything you could possibly need! The staff couldn’t be any more accommodating if they tried, nothing is too much hassle & they’re all so kind. They build trust with our children by calling them by their names, asking how they were & speaking directly to them which was the best touch! Food is great & service is always quick! 100/10.

The only thing I would wish for next time is a few more choices on the menu for nibbles.. but I appreciate that we stayed in January so maybe difficult with the hotel being quite quiet!

The property is excellently located for a quick, stylish Cornwall getaway, especially if traveling from London without a car. Service provided from front desk (Tracey) was efficient, warm and showed much initiative. I was not able to arrive on my planned date of arrival due to a storm which led to cancelled trains. Tracey dispelled all stress and worry, and made the necessary changes to my stay, even though the original room rate booked had restrictions. i also liked that it was truly dog-friendly in that I was allowed to dine in any of the spaces within the hotel.

I was surprised for the level of service experienced, to find that the tea cup in my bedroom had a lipstick stain on it.

Character of the hotel. Luxurious feel. Position above Fowey giving excellent views. Good quality toiletries and beautiful bedrooms.

Disappointed with the breakfasts. In such a high quality hotel, would expect a larger breakfast menu and very disappointed with the self-serve cooked breakfasts. The bacon was very undercooked every morning. Also expected toast to be on the tables instead of the do it yourself grills. This is something you find abroad and in lower quality hotels. Reminded us of the breakfasts in the Holiday Inns! Also didn't encourage us to dine there in the evening.

Fowey Hall is a stunning and sympathetic refurbishment of the orginal building with additional modern extensions including indoor and outdoor pool and spa. It is sat above the town and has beautiful views over the estuary and out to sea. Very well equipped, whilst clearly designed and managed wiht the family market in mind (and their dogs), it is also a great place for a weekend break for adults. The staff deserve a special mention, I have raraely come across such an excellent team.

Little to criticise but perhaps a few suggestions? The location being up on the hillside, it doesn't encourage guests to go down to the town in the evening for dinner, so the restuarant's evening menu needs a serious overhaul away from versions of pub food (albeit very expensive pub food). If we had been staying longer, we would have quickly got very bored with the selection. In a similar vein, as taking a car into Fowey is really impractical, and the town bus is erratic in when it runs, some thought might be given to a hotel to town shuttle, even if it were an additional charge. It's a very steep climb back up, for older guests AND for families with young ones.
