The location is fantastic, right on the sea shore. Although rather expensive, the second room we stayed in was spacious and had an amazing view of the beach, sea and coastline. All the beds were very comfortable and the showers were good. Breakfast is served until 10.30am which is great when you want to lie in a bit on your holiday/time off. And check out until 11am is also very welcome. The staff were pleasant enough and service was good. Some nice flower arrangements throughout.

The first standard room we stayed in was a bit pokey for the price and looked out onto a wall. The entry door into the room was faulty too. In addition there was a lack of adequate storage space. Breakfast choice was a bit limited (no fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt or pastries) and some things on the menu were not available some days. The cooking and presentation was also better some days than others. We are not a fan of coffee bags which seems to be a fad lately and lack taste, (proper coffee please). Maintenance issues throughout the property let it down a bit.

A stunning location on a low cliff, with steps leading down to the beach. Beautiful views in multiple directions from the restaurant/breakfast room and from the sun terrace outside. Friendly and efficient welcome when we arrived at this popular pub/restaurant. Good St Austell beer. Dinner was good - nice fish dish - and wide choice of breakfast options included in price. Good value for money. Room quite small, but large bed was comfortable and bathroom was new. Located in the middle of the village of Downderry. Convenient large car park at rear of building. On bus route from Torpoint to Liskeard. [Note: The hotel had recently suffered a flood, which explained the dirty carpets in the entrance passage.] Beautiful rocky beach with extensive views. Note that there is probably not much beach when the tide is in.

Water pipes were a little noisy at night

Incredible location - literally on the beach! Stunning sea views from our room (Millendreath) and the restaurant. Staff were all lovely, very welcoming and chatty.

The coffee!! Only coffee “bags” in the room as well as at breakfast!

Excellent staff, especially the young lad with the curly mullet ( sorry, forgot his name) but all staff was great. So comfy. View was amazing, was able to star gaze out the window at night, hearing the waves crashing below. Lots of dogs around. The food in the evening was top notch, my wife had pork belly one night and said, it was so nice and tender. The breakfast was on another level. Highly recomend this place.

Could do with a few more hangars in our room. Need an option of other bread, not just sourdough. These are tiny things. 😀

Fab location, really nice atmosphere and great spaces to relax.

The location was ideal for our needs. The staff was excellent. We needed a hand with our luggage and the bar staff couldn't have been more helpful.. The room was small but clean, and the bathroom was small, but functional. Breakfast is included in the price and was excellent value for money. I have already recommended the place to friends.

There was very little to complain about. Parking was plentiful. The price of meals and drinks was reasonable. The bed was comfortable . I will stay there, again...

Fabulous location, wonderful staff. A small but well appointed and comfortable room, which was surprisingly quiet considering this is a pub and restaurant. Lots of choice for breakfast, it was very tasty.

Our room just had a view of a wall, probably well sheltered from the inevitable seaside storms, but not the most attractive view. Lots of choice at breakfast! You'd have to stay for quite a few days to try everything. Oh wait, that sounds like a good idea.

Lively, welcoming and comfortable. Good food and drinks. Lovely views, including from some bedrooms. Good size bedrooms and well appointed bathrooms. Very dog friendly.

Service was a little slow. Waiting for drinks when ordered with meals took 10 - 15 minutes. Many steps make it a bit challenging for those with limited mobility. Venue didn't make us aware that there was an event on the first night we stayed. Loud music until the early hours. Several guests complained.

Nice big off road car park. Great welcome from Benjamin on arrival. Great balcony on which to enjoy a drink and watch the sunset. Panoramic views over the bay from the restaurant. Seafood Chowder with Mussels, Prawns, Cod and Potatoes was delightful. Staff very polite and pleasant throughout our stay. Thank you.

My friend went for the burger option for dinner, presentation could have been a little more imaginative, that said, my Chowder was delicious.

A great place to stay in the quiet village setting of Donwderry, right on the coastline. The views from the rooms out over the bay are amazing and it is wonderful to wake up in the morning to the sound of the sea lapping on the shore. The rooms are well presented with good facilities, and the bed is extremely comfortable. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the quality and range of options for breakfast were really good. We had dinner there also on one of the evenings which was very nice. The bar area has a nice atmosphere and is well stocked. There is a large parking area for patrons which can accommodate large vehicles very easily.

On a very minor point, in our room the extractor fan in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned in a while but otherwise no issues with cleanliness. Overall an excellent stay! Not related to the place per se, but just watch out for which road your sat nav decides to take you to the venue, you can end up down some pretty narrow Cornish lanes!
