The location is so central, a great hub to explore Cornwall from. Historic and stylish building and decors. Friendly staff, particularly at the reception. Overall, good value for money too.

Inconsistent breakfast quality. One morning we got a great quality hot breakfast, with fast service. The next day, we ordered the same food. Neither the quality nor the speed was the same. Maybe understaffed? The other is incident management - at 2am we had a (false) fire alarm, getting every guest out of bed. No apologies next morning - if fact, I would have expected a free drink or something as a gesture for the spoiled night.

The room was tastefully decorated with great blackout curtains. loads of hot water to shower with and nice quiet corridors for a quiet nights sleep. Breakfast was good and staff were attentive. There were a few vegan options but no plant based yogurt and limited fruit. They will put a small fridge in your room on request if you bring any of this with you.. The evening meal, whilst also limited vegan/veggie options was average, more on par with needing a cook rather than a chef. The queue at the bar to order drinks and food is real long so be patient. The rooms are comfortable and build for a good stay, the dining experience needs tweaking

Queues at the bar for food and drink order, only 2 members of staff trying to cope with a very busy Saturday night in the bar and restaurant as all placed through the one bar. you may be in the queue to order a couple more drinks, but be behind people ordering their family meal. If you know this its ok

It was my parents who stayed at the property for my Father's 87th birthday and they had a wonderful experience. I had also contacted the property on a couple of occasions prior to them visiting because I wanted to make arrangements for their room. The staff could not have been more helpful to me and then to my parents when they were there. At one point the very kind receptionist made the effort of going to their room to help explain what they were entitled to under the booking and to assist them as much as she could. I could not have appreciated the help more in supporting my parents so thank you to all.

There was nothing that I am aware of to not like about the stay.

Perfect quirky base for a break in Cornwall. All staff very attentive, across the team. This was our second visit. The first was during covid restrictions when the hotel were having to cope with the restrictions of the time. This time we saw things in more relaxed, but busy times. The Inn is very pet friendly, so bear that in mind if that's not your thing. We could not believe how well behaved the dogs were.

Portion sizes were a bit too large for one of us. I spoke to the restaurant manager on duty on our final evening, and she advised that the chef is more than willing to adapt the set menu where possible. I should have been more vocal earlier on.

Easily located off the main road, we also stay on way to st ives. They have a smugglers museum, a gift shop with pirate and ghost stories. They have a little farm shop and a lovely little wooden boat play park for the little ones. The rooms are always so Lovely and clean and the staff are always so friendly.

I enjoyed being close to the main road as it's convenient to then continue my journey the next day however some people may not like being near the main road, not near any amenities. The closest shop is the next service station.

The Jamaica Inn is one of our favourite places to stay in the UK. Always a very warm welcome from the staff who can’t do enough to make your stay both comfortable and memorable. The property is quite old and it’s filled with charm and history. The rooms are spotless and extremely well maintained and decorated to a high standard. The bar and restaurant areas are bristling with authentic character. Such a gorgeous building and courtyard set in dramatic Cornish countryside.

After numerous visits, we have no complaints whatsoever.

Good location. Moved our room after a noisy family moved into the room connected to ours (connecting door) on the second day. Only available room wasn't as nice but at least it was quiet.Friendly helpful staff. Went round the museum which was free for residents. Watched some nice sunsets over the moors from the gardens

Rooms seemed hot, we think it was the heated towel rails.On our last morning (Saturday) a load of bikers came in and the residents were basically ignored at breakfast while they were served. We had to go and find someone to order our breakfast then waited over half an hour until we had to go and find out where the breakfast was! Some people walked out as they couldn't stay any longer to wait. No communication but we could see what the problem was. It's a shame because it does put you off returning. There was no problem on the Thursday and Friday mornings. We also had to wait quite a long time for the evening meal on Friday, but at least a member of staff came over to say 'haven't you had your meal yet, I'll chase it up.'.

The room was very comfortable, tidy, and attractive. Location is excellent to discover Bodmin Moor. The staff, mostly ladies, were always very helpful and did their best to answer (sometimes, somewhat trivial) questions without any sense of haste. Breakfast - mainly, the self-service buffet, was well stocked and excellent.

The loss of the exotic and miscellaneous trivia museum that Jamaica Inn had about two decades ago. Although the current museum is excellent, and well curated, loss of the previous idiosyncratic collection (I gather to a collector in the USA) is somewhat saddening.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Jamaica Inn. As a writer and history enthusiast, visiting a site enriched by such enthralling tales, including Daphne Du Maurier's excellent novel of the same name, I was very keen to experience the inn for myself. I'm happy to say, it didn't disappoint. The Hunter's Chicken at dinner and the Beast of Bodmin breakfast were both excellent. I was also impressed with the staff, who worked very hard. The single room was basic but fine for my needs, as was the ensuite. The museum and gift shop were also nice touches and worth a visit. Parking was sufficient. Enjoyed my stay and will happily return.

We unexpectedly got placed in the Daphne Du Maurier Suite, which was incredible. More an experience than a hotel room. Quite amazing, and a bed the size of...well - big. Staff very efficient and pleasant, particularly reception. We got allowed into the museum on site for a quick look around and bar service was pleasant. Masses of interesting history connected to this establishment.

Felt ever so slightly let down in the restaurant in the evening. Somewhat casual service and three or four different staff involved in seating us, taking order, bringing food and checking for dessert requirement. Food was OK.
