A Truly Memorable Stay at Great Trails Kodai – May 1st & 2nd We had a truly pleasant two-day stay at Great Trails in Kodaikanal during May 1st and 2nd. The moment we settled in, it started raining — transforming the entire atmosphere into a cool, misty retreat, a delightful contrast to the harsh summer heat we left behind in Erode. From the very beginning, the hospitality at GRT was exceptional. The staff made us feel welcome and cared for throughout our stay. The food was absolutely delicious — especially the Alphonso mango juice, which was simply mind-blowing! What made the experience even more heartwarming were the little surprises. A lovely Punjabi family staying there gifted a toy to our child — when we tried to return it, they insisted and even gave us another one. GRT also surprised our kids with gifts and took a beautiful family photo, which they printed and gave to us as a keepsake. Such thoughtful gestures made the stay truly special. Overall, it was a wonderful, value-for-money vacation, and we’d love to return to GRT again for more beautiful memories.

I recently stayed at this resort, and overall, it was a pleasant experience with a few drawbacks. Here's my detailed review: Location/Ambience/View (9/10): The resort is nestled in a stunning location with breathtaking views of hills and playful fog that provided a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The natural surroundings and the well-maintained property added to the charm. The resort offers some paid and free activities like trekking, zip line, offroad jeep rides, bonfire with games for guests etc. Room (9/10): The room (wooden chalet) was spacious, beautifully designed, and with the sofa bed provided a comfortable stay for two adults and two children. The comfort and attention to detail made the stay enjoyable. Cleanliness (9/10): The property, including the rooms and common areas, was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. It was clear that hygiene is a priority at the resort. Room Service (9/10): The room service was prompt, professional, and courteous. The staff ensured that all requests were addressed quickly and efficiently.

Breakfast (6.5/10): The food was decent but did not live up to expectations. The menu lacked variety, and the taste was fairly average for the price charged. There's definite room for improvement here. However, the staff at the breakfast hall were very courteous and helpful. Cost: The cost was surprisingly high, nearly double the off-season rates, as the booking was done at a late stage from our part. While the experience was enjoyable, the high pricing felt a bit unjustified considering some of the shortcomings. Overall: The resort offers a mix of luxury and natural beauty, making it a great getaway for relaxation. However, the high cost and average food quality may deter some travelers. If you plan to visit, make sure to book well in advance for better rates.

Wonderful experience. The room was clean and spacious, providing a comfortable environment to relax in. The views from the room were absolutely stunning, adding to the overall enjoyment of the stay. The staff were exceptionally nice and polite, always ready to assist with a smile. The food was good with nice breakfast spread offering great variety of options to start the day. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable stay with excellent service and amenities.

The location the room staff the resturant team even the security guys were sweet proactive and always there to help. The rooms were good clean & comfortable. We upgraded our booking to the chalet rooms once we checked in. Would have recommended to all if only we had not met the GM. All the staff work went in vain when the GM was approached with a query.

They were not accepting AMEX cards and it was not mentioned anywhere. The GM had no clue. As a frequent traveller we use Amex card the 1 which is widely accepted in hotels world wide. There were no clear indications either on ther website or physically in the hotel causing last minute confusion and delays on our departure. The middle & top management has to be proactive & educated surprisingly to find the room staff and r3sturant staff chef being proactive and were well prepared for all guest requirements and help if needed . The top management has to learn from them. Except for the interaction we had with the Gendral Manager everything was perfect.

The best part of this property is the location. Just a few kilometers away from the hustle bustle of Kodai town yet, peaceful and serene. Awesome view of the hills from Timber Chalet with chirping birds surrounding you. Some indoor games available to keeps busy. SPA is just okay and can be improved significantly. Food is decent and has variety. Everyone should have something or other that suits their palette. Kasthuri in front desk, Chef Yuvaraj are always there to help!

Service needs significant improvement. The issue appeared to be untrained staff and dearth of supervision. Kasthuri does a great job at front desk but she too much to manage.

Extremely family friendly. Although the approach toward hotel is little long and feels stretchy but once we reached the property it was awesome. Right from overall landscape , food , cottage to the experience

Little far from city and if stuck under changing weather then it seems longer day.

The surroundings, the helpful staff- Kasturi and Akash at the reception were cooperative and helpful. The restaurant staff, Ramji, Vaishnavi, Ram, the chefs, all went out of their way to make our dining experience enjoyable. So did the travel desk guys- Jaishankar and Premkumar who guided us in making our sightseeing trips memorable.

A suggestion- if you could replace the soft mattress and pillows with coir ...especially for the elderly.

The location was very good. Courteous staff. Good food.

The towels and toileteries were not enough for 4 guests and every time we had to call and ask. The room description in the 3rd party app was not correct.

Location is good and the staff is nice and hospitable

Food was expensive and since you cannot go out for dinner because of the location of the property the prices are very high for the quality, spread of food, ambience and the quality of preparation.

the location is absolutely gorgeous! it’s nestled in between hills with a small waterfall that gushes with the most beautiful sound of running water. the service is amazing! Ramji, Saravanan, the young lady at the restaurant, Rajaram the manager, the Chef, Mr Veera, every single staff on the housekeeping team and the front desk staff. Their service was impeccable! Our stay was made better by them. We arrived at 2am and they had hot milk and a fruit platter to ease our hunger. Was floored by their hospitality!
