The room which was the penthouse suite was excellent, We have stayed in many hotels, but not like that one the views were to die for balcony at each end of the room one in the bedroom and one in the living room
The buffett breakfast could have been warmer, we booked for 9.15 and were struggling to find bread, butter and milk jugs a lot of things had not been replenished, they seemed to be short staffed on boxing day. The conservatory is dated and could do with a face lift

Great location, right by the mouth of the Tyne, and set in a lovely dune and beach area. We liked our room - we'd asked for a quiet one and they'd listened. A superior room got us more space and a good view. The staff were almost without exception smiley, friendly and helpful.
The conservatory where we ate is substandard and not very clean. I thought they were going to upgrade it but it looked just the same as last year. There was bird crap on the rather elderly toaster which another guest told me she'd spotted the day before but it was still there. The lad dishing out breakfast beans and egg etc. slopped it onto the plates and got it all over rim every day. This is a simple issue of training. There is a fair bit of litter blowing about the grass around the hotel - I picked some up but had difficulty finding a bin. A member of staff should be detailed to go out first thing and do a litter pick.

I loved this little gem. Fabulous location for visiting also for hosting weddings etc (there were 2 over the time I was there) I was told in advance by the hotel but this did not intrude on my stay. staff were all friendly. Rooms spotless. (None of this mouldy showers that you find in other hotels). No iron or hairdryer in the room but you can access these by reception. Breakfast is a good choice. Dinner was fantastic . Would recommend this hotel to friends and family. I would also be re booking
There was nothing to dislike this hotel for me .

The location is great, right on the mouth of the river. It was great to see the big ships coming into and out of the harbour. The hotel is has ample parking and is located just a short walk, on a pathway to the town and sea front amusements. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are in really good condition (no tatty/deteriorating furniture). The dining room is spacious and the food is very good, with decent sized portions, at a fair and competitive price.
I was in room 222 - There is an intermittent rumbling/bubbling noise which goes on for quite sometime. It sounds like an emersion heater warming up in the little room between 222 and 224.

Lovely hotel.. Beachfront location with a funfair and restaurants a short drive away.. Parking right outside with plenty is spaces. It's a parking eye system so car registration is logged in reception area. Reception area is welcoming and check in quick. Room 206 which is what we had faced onto the sea and estuary which saw many ships sail through and past the hotel when we stayed. Hubby watched the sunrise just over the estuary this morning. Furnishings a little dated but this did not detract from our stay. It was functional. Bed super comfy and spare pillows available in room... Bathroom a good size with bath and shower. Peaceful nights sleep.. Heater in room and towel rail in bathroom warmed the rooms quickly. Food is reasonably priced and they have 1 2 or 3 courses in the restaurant for a good price every night. Staff super in the restaurant. We had the prawn cocktail, salmon and cheesecake and soup, burger and cheesecake with drinks including a bottle of wine for £88. Good stay overall .
Room. 206 appeared to be over the kitchen area. No fans going etc but you could hear most of what was going on in there when the restaurant was open. Overall, quiet, just a few niggles with banging about when the kitchen was open and we were in our room. . Window did not open and there was no key so wasnt able to feel the sea breeze in our room.

Location is perfect, rooms with a sea view are excellent. The fact that even though the breakfast was a buffet all cooked food was covered and hot. Option to have fried or poached eggs, cooked on request, restaurant staff very friendly and obliging...
Bathroom, could do with updating showers, handles to assist getting in and out, as showers are over the bath and not so easy to get in and out especially for older or less able people. Everyday there was a shortage of baked beans and hash browns, might seem trivial but surely it's a simple thing to have plenty of. Went with a few of the family, seems everyone had hot chocolate sachets in room except ours... room never had a safe but others did....

Lovely location. We received a warm welcome and were quickly sorted out with our room. We had a wonderful view of the mouth of the river and across to Tynemouth and even though we live fairly locally we were impressed. Took a little bit of time to get the heating right in the room by trial and error but once sorted it was fine. The room was very clean and we had a comfortable night. The breakfast was excellent. It was good to be served the breakfast as it was still hot rather than open trays when it’s a buffet. Scrambled egg was particularly good. The staff in the breakfast were very pleasant and it was very efficiently organised.
The were no negatives at all.

Location, room, breakfast. Everything really
"Not Like" is too strong for one tiny niggle. We came back to hotel at 10 pm and went to order a sandwich or something light to eat. However Meals stopped at 8pm. I then asked at reception if we could order room service but that too was unavailable as kitchen closed at 8pm. The receptionist did say we could order a take away and if we wanted they would supply us with plates etc. and we could eat in our room or at one of the tables. That was a good suggestion but we weren't hungry enough for a take away. Fault really lay with us for not checking and just assuming we'd be able to order a light snack later in the evening. Enjoyed our breakfast even more next morning.

Really friendly staff at reception & restaurant & lovely breakfasts. Excellent service from the staff member who supported the Wake for my brother in law on 28th. Excellent layout & presentation of the room for the above & delicious food provided. On booking through Booking.com then liasiing with reception staff, a reallocation of a ground floor room with a river view was easily agreed. Great for viewing the busy river traffic including cruise ships to Amsterdam. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone.
Not an easy situation to manage by the hotel but being on the ground floor it was difficult when people sat outside the bedroom window on the bench to have a smoke. Everything else was perfect.

The location is beautiful, we had the opportunity to see some very interesting ships go past. The restaurant has nice food.
The receptionist asked for my full card details, including the security no, despite the fact that I had already paid. My card has been recently frauded, so I felt very uncomfortable. I also felt it is insulting to assume that we will trash the room. The room was cold and didn't really warm up well. The staff serving breakfast were rather rude, and I felt as if I was given pitty food, despite having paid for breakfast. Our experience would have been much better if not for this.
