Dinner has a limited choice and the menu remains the same over the stay (3 days in our case). Food is OK but overpriced I would have liked to have the airplane tour I booked but it was cancelled due to bad weather and was not possible to find another slot (this is of course out of the control of the structure)

Absolutely stunning property! The whole place has a peaceful charm that makes you instantly relax. Rooms were spotless and beautifully designed. Grace was a standout—so friendly and helpful with her tips on where to go and what to see. We explored places we never would’ve found without her.

We mentioned in advance that we were celebrating a big occasion—my husband’s birthday and our 25th anniversary—but there was no mention of it at all. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but at this price point, we expected a little something extra to make the moment feel more special.

I don't think I've ever written a perfect review, but Newhall Mains was incredible and so reasonably priced for the services. Beds: Comfy, clean and high quality Staff: I could go on and on, felt like old friends right out of the gate. Attentive, professional and friendly. Chris, Iona and JD were so kind and friendly. Activities: Pilot Euan made the flight work and it was right when we arrived. He pointed out everything we saw and catered the flight to what I was interested in - i.e. castles, villages. The staff told us where to go and how to get there to avoid lines, traffic and tourists Location/Property: It is private and remote and if you are looking for a chill, relaxing time, this is the place. The property is stunning, green and so pristine. As you can tell, I would HIGHLY recommend Newhall Mains to anyone looking for a relaxing, intimate stay.

Firstly, the public areas are beautifully decorated and the staff are lovely. The room didn't feel luxurious but it did feel very pleasant. Outside, the property is minimal and quite understated. It didn't feel like Scotland however, and could have been a nice hotel in the Cotswolds. It had quite a Cotswold feel about it. There is a bar and a seating area but that's really it. There isn't a spa or games room or other facilities. I think you can go cycling and on a small plane so that's fun although we didn't have time to try either. The food was similar. Very nice but not really wow, which I was expecting for £500 room and dinner (we don't drink) for one night. Parking is great and they are dog friendly. It was nice, but not amazing. It was a little like Soho Farmhouse without the spa or swimming pool or gym classes, boating, tennis, shops, restaurants, lakes, etc. Mind you, I find that place a bit much at times but the service is always next level.

The breakfast isn't ideal. If you are looking for an English or Scottish slap up breakfast, you won't find it here. There are boiled eggs however. We asked for help in planning to get to the islands but it wasn't really forthcoming. Other than that, there's nothing not to like, really....

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Newhall Mains. The ambiance was peaceful and elegant, making us feel right at home. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the outstanding food. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, leaving us craving for more. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients truly impressed us. The comfort of the beds was exceptional, allowing us to get a good night's sleep. Upon entering our room, we were greeted with beautiful classical music playing softly in the background, creating a soothing and relaxing environment. Unfortunately, we arrived with the flu and had to cancel our pre-booked dinner at the resident restaurant. However, the staff at Newhall Mains were incredibly understanding and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They prepared a delicious onion soup for us to enjoy in our rooms, along with a comforting Hot Toddy to help us feel better. Their thoughtfulness and care made a significant difference in our overall experience. We are already looking forward to returning to Newhall Mains in the future. It is a place that truly exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable and enjoyable stay.

This is our third visit. It is such a relaxing place to visit, especially if you want luxury nights away from the hustle and busle of city life. The accommodation is surrounded by working farms. You would never know that you were only 30 minutes away from Inverness. Try their Michelin Star restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

I was hoping for a bath but I had a standard room. On the pricey side but you kind of have to pay a lot these days to get a high standard.

There was nothing we did not like NM is a boutique, very comfortable hotel in a rural setting Staying there is rather like visiting family. It's important to set expectations of dining options in this context [food yummy, choice understandably small]

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed! Classy, comfortable and beautiful inside and out, Euan and the team did an exceptional job in really making us feel welcome. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. Dinner was delicious and breakfast fresh and well-executed. I highly recommend a Negroni after dinner!
