We stayed at this hotel for one night and were very pleased with our visit. From the very beginning, we were warmly welcomed by a lovely young woman who checked us in around 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, we didn’t catch her name, but we want to especially thank her for her helpfulness, kindness, and professional attitude. She explained everything clearly and fulfilled all our requests and expectations. We were also very impressed by the service during breakfast – the staff was exceptionally polite and attentive. Their genuine care and respect for guests really stood out and meant a lot to us. We also took the opportunity to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, and the meal was excellently prepared and delicious. Breakfast was also satisfying in every way. We are truly grateful for the pleasant atmosphere and high standard of service. If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll definitely return.

We stayed in the annexe which is directly opposite The Station. Absolutely stunning! The room was beautifully decorated and spotless as was the shower room. Tea and coffee making facilities were in the room also. Time for breakfast which was served in the hotel itself, so a quick nip across the road and we were greeted with lovely smiles and great service. We all chose the full Scottish breakfast and my word, it was huge! Delicious and filling which set us up for the day. I highly recommend a stay in this warm, welcoming highland hotel where nothing is too much trouble.

My partner and I were given a fully disability-accessible room in a separate building across the street from the main hotel. We hadn't realised we'd be in another building but we actually came to really appreciate it - we had our own (level access) parking and could come and go as we pleased. We also hadn't requested a disability-accessible room and didn't need to make use of its facilities, however we were so impressed that the hotel had this option. I have a loved one who is quite disabled and who could easily have stayed in this room independently. It offered low-level plug sockets, a full wet-room with no-step shower and shower seat, plus grab bars throughout the wet room and of course, level access into the building. There was also an inbuilt careline to call for assistance if needed. Anyone with accessibility needs looking for a place to stay in the area need look no further, this is an amazing resource and really impressive.

At times we found the room a little stuffy and were nervous to open the window as it opened directly onto the pavement on the ground floor, we were worried it wouldn't be secure to leave open overnight. But this was a very small issue.

We stayed in The Auld Jail, the newly refurbished property across the road from the main hotel. It is very new and comfortable, fully wheelchair accessible, the shower is really nice with excellent water pressure. The staff are lovely and the dinner we had at the restaurant was nice too. We found this hotel last minute as Storm Floris hit and they responded very quickly and were super helpful and kept a positive attitude throughout.

Everything was nice :) the sink in the bathroom is very small.

We were “upgraded” to an annex/cottage a street above the property. The level of decor and cleanliness was spotless. Clearly a newer property, all amenities included, with a proper kitchen. Parking directly in front of the unit. The restaurant food and drink was high quality and inspired.

The only issue during my stay was I found my duck breast dinner a bit more cooked than I wanted and no hints of orange flavor in the sauce. Same sauce on my partner’s Venison meal, which was heavenly. The dining room manager Debbie immediately offered to comp the meal, which we refused. I had eaten more than half the meal. It was nice and polite the hotel even offered that. It was simply down to my palate expecting the sauce described on the menu.

The room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was spotless and large. The dining room was spacious and dogs were welcome at the end opposite the dining room bar; this enabled dog lovers including me to bring dogs with us without imposing our dogs on others. The staff were very friendly and efficient; something many "up-market" hotels could learn from.

The staff were so friendly and chatty and happy to help. Our room was on the top floor so nice and peaceful. We were able to use the shed to store our bicycles and were made to feel that it wasn't too much trouble each time we asked for the key! The hotel is ideally placed in the town and there is plenty private parking. Handy for the train station as well!

There was nothing I didn't like. We didn't eat in the hotel as we were using it as a base to visit friends so can't comment on the food on this visit.

A warm welcome from Kezzia? who showed us to our rooms and stored our bikes. Meals were good and the lads enjoyed the beer. Most definitely the best shower we had all week when cycling. I have stayed before and would stay again.

The spoons in the room were dirty and had not been cleaned. When we wanted to book breakfast when having our dinner we were told we would have to each go to the bar to have a look at the one menu. I think the look on our faces meant the waitress had a rethink. Only one tea bag in the room.

Beautiful hotel on Alness high street, free parking onsite and free wifi. The family room was large and perfect for what we needed as a family of 4, also clean. I liked the little personal touches like body wash in the bathroom and biscuits & coffee in the seating area. We ate downstairs in the restaurant, we ordered chicken fajitas, chicken tikka masala and two children’s meals. All of which was delicious. Staff so lovely and helpful.

We really struggled to sleep with the pillows supplied.

Staff were very courteous & polite. Evening meal had great selection & very quick service. The restaurant was very busy which says it all. Room was cozy & warm, I was able to open window easily to let in fresh air. Ensuite was spacious with good sized shower. Tv worked perfect, tea coffee available in room. I didn't have time for breakfast in morning as had train to catch which was a two minute walk fro hotel very convenient.

All good nothing negative.
