This hotel is in a great position for visiting Avila. It's a very friendly family-run business, with a cafeteria on the upper floor (just opposite the Puerta de la Santa) which did simple but lovely breakfast. It's an easy walk into the town where there are lots of good bars and restaurants. One we've been to on a couple of visits is the Medieval and we have never been disappointed. The fillet steak just melts in the mouth! The room was quite small but had everything you need - hanging space, safe an very good aircon. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the whole place was spotless. There is plenty of free parking around the hotel but if you arrive mid week, it's best to wait until after 2 pm when the workers leave for lunch. Otherwise there is the Rastro car park nearby. We had a bit of difficulty finding the hotel as the area code of 05001 wasn't recognised by our satnav. But if you have the same problem, use 05002 and it works find. Make sure you drive right to the top of Calle Empedrada and you'll find the hotel in front of you.

The hotel was right outside the wall of the city , just meters from one of the gates. There was parking available in the street, and a parking garage just behind the hotel.
Our room faced the road behind the hotel going down to the parking garage, which could bother some especially early morning during the week, but not too much.

Good location, right under the walls of Avila. Parking for free streetside, right next to the hotel (or in the parking right around the corner if you prefer). We had a very clean and quiet room. Nice beds. Very friendly, helpful and Spanish-only speaking manager. All in all: happy
Not exactly a negative, but be aware that rooms are somewhat simply furnished and there is no elevator.

Very nice hotel! The location is perfect: just next to the walls. The host is exceptionally helpful and welcoming. You feel at home! The room is very clean. The bed is very comfortable. There is an aiconditioning and a heating. You can park on a street nextdoor or in a 24h paking around the corner. There is a small bar/restaurant in the hotel, so the breakfast is easy to get. And in the evening it is possible to have a dinner. Very tasty cheese😋 I liked at most the host, Juan Carlos is very friendly and helpful. For example, when it appeared that my flight is delayed and i would not reach the hotel on a regular time, he sent me very clear instructions how to get in. In general, you feel welcome. I am really happy about this hotel and i will definitely advise it.

The hotel was next to one of the entrance gates to the town so very easy access to the attractions. We were able to get on street parking but there is an underground paying Carpark next to the hotel if that is preferred. The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable. There is a small cafeteria attached to the hotel where you can get a light breakfast. If we return to Avila we would be more than happy to stay here again

The room was comfortable, clean and well laid out. It was close to all major sights in Ávila, as well as supermarkets and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Even though we arrived late on our bicycles having ridden through a rainstorm, they kept the desk open for us and even helped carry our bags up to the room which we appreciated greatly. Our bikes could be securely stored.

Everything. The location by the city walls was great, an easy walk to everything. The cafe/ bar of the hotel, comfort and if you’re a motorcyclist, Juan will allow to park your bike in his garage. Juan was amazing, couldn’t be more helpful and even booked a spot for lunch for us when we struggled to get in.

Excellent location
There were no plugs in the bathroom for the sink or bath. When I asked the receptionist, I was told that they couldn't get any at the moment. There is a general hardware shop about 10 minutes walk away in town. My elderly mother, who is travelling with me, can not stand under a shower as her feet slide. The bedside lights were too far from the bed to be useful.

The location is excellent for seeing the walled part of the town. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The owner, Juan Carlos deserves special mention as we had a problem with one of our motorbikes; he arranged for it to be fixed at a local bike garage picking us and our luggage up to return to the hotel and taking us back the next day. The garage owner was also brilliant and helpful. I can highly recommend this hotel to any one, especially bikers.

the photo does not do the location justice. The hotel is right in the middle of everything (well, maybe a 2 minute walk). Avila I’d a town built on a hill / you have to go up and/or down to go anywhere! But - for one who has issues with hills, I found it ok. The hills were neither as steep or as long as I feared. Juan Carlos - the owner and/or manager of the property- was a godsend. He carried my bags, remembered my name (not always easy for a Spaniard!) and attended me well before his cafeteria when we had a Birds Eye view of the Easter procession. He called a taxi for me in departure and followed it up with st least 7 other calls to make sure that I reached my train, which I did with only minutes to spare: His hotel was spotlessly clean, all accessories working and friendly. it’s not a palace, but I liked it - and I’m a bit fussy.
