Superb location. Great breakfast and the hotel restaurant also provides traditional local cousin in high quality for lunch or dinner. The staff is helpful and friendly.

Even though weather outside was very cold, the room was a bit hot to sleep. It was not really possible to adjust the heating. English can often be a bit of a challenge, just like in most of the services in the area.

Location near the wall was excellent and the hotel was so nice. The breakfast was very good. We ate dinner there as well and the food was really excellent. The staff was helpful. Not much English is spoken, but a little bit of Spanish and a phone translator program was good enough! We followed the hotel's directions (sent by email prior to our stay) and found the hotel very easily.

There is nothing we didn't like. The hotel had charm. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was good and the dinner was great!

The hotel is a delightful oasis of calm in a busy, tourist-filled part of Ávila, close to the cathedral and major squares, and placed halfway between two of the major entryways through the famous city walls. The accommodation is wonderful, with rooms decorated and furnished in a traditional Castilian manner. Our room was comfortably large and well lit, and the bathroom spacious and clean with a large and efficient shower. Breakfast is generous, the attached bar pleasant and lively, the restaurant genteel and reserved, and the adjoining terrace delightful and fun - dining al fresco beneath the ancient city walls.

Parking was a nightmare. Make sure you have a reservation. Also staff did not speak English and were rude about helping us with parking. Thank goodness, a young employee agreed to go with my husband to try to park the car--an odyssey which lasted ONE HOUR. My husband was exhausted. We chose the hotel to be right in the middle of the old town and that aspect was wonderful, but getting settled was difficult.

It is a bit complicated to reach the hotel in the heart of Avila, but the very clear instructions we received in advanced reduced the stress, even though it involved ignoring a number of ‘No entry’ signs! They take your car registration number, so you don’t get fined later on by the authorities.

* Location is superb. You can see the Avila Walls from some of the room windows. And it is just a few steps away from the Cathedral and the centre of the ancient town. * The building itself is beautiful, and decoration is stunning. * Not good or bad, just if you go by car, be aware of the tricky road you should take to get to the hotel parking. We had to call the hotel so he could explain to us manoeuvre to manoeuvre to get there.

* The fact that the room was exactly above the terrace... People enjoying their time drinking until 2am+ was a bit difficult to get some sleep.

Specific directions to hotel for parking not seen prior to arrival in Alvila as we were not on line - those directions advising use if Maps. We eventually found hotel on foot and then helped by staff to drive to park.

Just inside the city walls, a charming place with a classical feeling. Breakfast was served in the central courtyard and was good.

Understandable that parking is restricted but an underground pay as you leave car park about 100m away.

Location is exceptional (they back up on the wall of the Cathedral, and 3 minutes from the walls). It's a historic old building, but the facilities have been updated very nicely. A special call out to the staff who went above and beyond (e.g. walking with us to our parked car, to guide us through the streets to the parking area) - Michael, Diego, Felipe, and the lovely lady who looked after us for breakfast and got up early for our early departure. Totally professional! And their restaurant is exceptional - not just an easy, "in hotel" type of eating experience (and that's coming from a pair of foodies who did their research)! Breakfast was excellent too.

Well, nothing the hotel can do about it, but the last few minutes to the hotel are a lot of one-way streets that googlemaps does *not* accurately navigate - twice we ended up in one-way dead-ends. You need to contact the hotel staff once you are within the old town limits.

Very old telephone in the room, yellowed. The channels on the TV were organised in a weird way, like there were two different channels representing one channel (numbers 5 and 6 for example) one was standard definition and the next one HD but it's the same channel... Just eliminate the standard definition version to provide a more coherent experience for the sake of the guest.
