This is an old style luxury hotel that is somewhat past its prime. The rooms are large and comfortable with all necessary amenities (hairdryer, safe, fridge, coffee/tea etc.) albeit a little run down. All you can eat breakfast buffet with both western, indonesian, japanese and chinese cuisine is provided in a lovely garden setting. There is a gym, outdoor pool and a garden to enjoy some green space. Staff is friendly and tries to help with any questions. There is a buffet dinner for a set price or an a la carte ordering at the bar patio. Both were somewhat pricier than you can find in any other restaurant although the food was well prepared.

The rooms are cleaned daily, but seems not to include regular washing of the shower/tub or vacuuming. We also ran out of toilet paper in a 2 day stay. The wifi is mediocre at best and kept dropping out. The poolside restaurant and bar both seem to be permanently closed which limited eating options.

The staff were absolutely fabulous. Very helpful, warm, and outgoing. I arrived early and at the reception Pinkan (sorry, spelling may be wrong) did her best to get a room ready earlier for me. In the restaurant I befriended Nyoman at lunch who showed me around and explained Bali culture to me, and at dinner I was served by Koko who made wonderful suggestions to. try different foods that I otherwise would have overlooked. The garden is gorgeous and the swimming pool is one of the largest I've encountered at a hotel anywhere.

It was a trip for my mom and me after 2 years since I have been studying overseas. It was a perfect and awesome experience for us! We stayed 7 nights at the resort, which had a traditional buffet, café, and some shops on the first floor, as well as a swimming pool, fitness center, spa, and Italian restaurant on the third floor. Our room was on the 21st floor, and the view was awesome! Every meal (both the breakfast and dinner buffets) was fresh and delicious, with a wonderful atmosphere. Koko was a great guide in exploring Indonesian food, and his special Nasi Goreng dishes were fantastic. The café on the first floor offered excellent coffee and bread, especially the traditional desserts. Royhan recommended a traditional beer and a mocktail (something with "beach" in the name, though I can't recall exactly), and the bartender was very skilled in making them (We loved his latte and mocktail). The swimming pool and spa were amazing, and we really miss them! We are definitely planning our next trip here soon!

The only thing that disappointed us was the condition of some old structures. The refrigerator was not cold, the toilet handle was not functioning properly, and the shower handle was separated from the wall. We had to call the staff to fix these issues. But when I called the operator, their responses were very quick and proper. Everything was fixed on time.

The hotel is incredible. Beyond all expectation in every respect. The breakfast was something else - I looked forward to it every day. So many stalls, with such a wide variety of local and Western foods. The room service was also excellent - generous portions, with so many side dishes. Worth every penny and more. The pool area was wonderful - the garden adjacent to the lobby was outstanding - I spent whole days sitting beside the pond, working in the garden. Nyoman, one of the senior staff members, was so welcoming, and the junior members of staff so polite, helpful, and kind. They provided a level of service to be reckoned with.

I think everything was pretty perfect.

We stayed at that hotel in Surabaya for 3 nights. It is situated in the very center of the city in the busy street. There is a corner shop nearby and some catering places. We lived in the room on the 22nd floor, the view overlooks the city, it is quite picturesque. The room is quite spacious,the linen is clean and fresh, the bed is big and comfortable. There is an aircon, a TV, a hairdryer, a shower and a large bath, the hotel provides some toiletries incl. a toothbrush, a toothpaste, some soap, etc. There is buffet breakfast served, the choice of dishes is enormous at every liking. The staff is very helpful and courteous, they do speak English.

The hotel needs thorough renovation both inside and outside. It looks quite decent from the first look, yet a a close up reveals some faults like mold in the bathroom, some weary furniture, etc. The safe was not in operation. If ever in Surabaya we intend to look for a more modern place to stay. Besides, the mosque service was very loud at nights. Someone might find hard to sleep.

Beautiful interior with lots of art. My room had a great view and came with a bath and a shower. Great pool, extensive breakfast buffet, a cafe/lounge, a great array of amenities for all genders. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful and the room rates were reasonable.

The staff were a little overwhelmed on the first day with the massive influx of guests for the conference I was attending but rose to the occasion admirably by day two. The health spa was difficult to find and in an odd location. Some facilities and restaurants were closed.

The staff are so welcoming, very friendly and eager to please. We made great use of the facilities, pool, sauna, hot tub and it was Independence Day and there were lots of festivities that guests were encouraged to get involved in. Comfortable bed and nice view over the city! Stunning gardens with ponds with fish and lots of plants and sunset over the pool area too. Would stay here again and would recommend!

The lining of the bath tub was peeling away, which was disappointing. Everything else about the stay was comfortable. Not much to do in the area, but great to use as a base if passing through like I was.

We stay at Bumi every three weeks for a "staycation." When we arrive our friends on the staff say, "Welcome Home!." As an expat and global traveler I will say directly that Bumi is my favorite hotel of all. When it was built they spared no expense. It is truly, aside from being a great hotel, the best museum in Surabaya, with tapestry, paintings, furniture, and ceramics that are top quality anywhere. Also the physical plant of Bumi is very big and the natural aspect outstanding. Aside from numerous trees and flowers there are eight fish ponds which afford a wonderful calming influence. Bumi is the best of Surabaya!

This seems to be an ex-Hyatt Regency hotel. The quality is not on par with Hyatt anymore, but neither is the price. So, very good value for the price you pay; you get comfortable rooms, great service in a stylish accommodation. Pool, sauna and wellness are all good. The dinner buffet is nice with Japanese, Chinese and Indonesian options, with live music. 15min walk to the large Tunjungan Plaza shopping mall (biggest mall in eastern Java). I stayed here 10 years ago and it did not disappoint then, again it didn’t disappoint this time. Would come back.

Carpet and furniture in the room could be cleaner (many stains)

The lobby and the overall feel of the hotel. Location is quite good, near to the center. Food quality is decent and the bfast is quite diverse.

I spotted a roach and a bed bug in the bedroom. The buffet bfast is up to 10 am but the staff started rolling up food quite early. At 9:45, the bread station had already been rolled up and the staff did not even offer to help when I complaied about this. I found that to be quite rude.
