Excellent staff, wonderful breakfasts and great location. Very comfortable bed. Large shower. We really enjoyed our visit.

Our visit would have been even better if there was more water pressure through the shower head. Took quite a long time to wash my hair and my daughter-in-law made the same comment. Different shower head needed? Really need better lighting - it's rather dark - especially when trying to get ready to go to a wedding. We stayed in the Clock Tower Suite - great room, but the carpet definitely needs replacing. It looks dirty and rather dingy. A lighter colour next time? Please rest assured we really enjoyed our stay but these little changes would make a big difference. PS I never write reviews but thought this might help you for future guests.

Excellently stylish and comfortable facilities; well equipped and spacious too. Shame we were only staying the one night.

Hot water takes a very long time to run through. Reception staff weren’t the friendliest people on earth but given all we needed was the keycard and directions, it was fine. Would be nice to be greeted with a smile though.

We had a beautiful room with a river view and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Coffee and tea making facilities plus fridge in room. A Nespresso machine would be a welcome addition.

Hotel rooms were excellent. Maybe we were there at a bad time (between Xmas and new year). The bar/restaurant area was obviously very understaffed or badly managed. On the afternoon we left half the bar area was full of uncleared, dirty tables. I counted about 8/9 just around where we were sitting. We were there for over an hour and not a single table was cleared, despite staff walking past them numerous times. Such a shame as it ruins the ambience of an otherwise lovely space with pretty good food.

Nice decor with comfy bed and very clean. Coffee tea and biscuits with real milk were very welcome as was the bottled water. Lovely smelling body wash and lotion in the bathroom. Love the comfy chairs in the Coppa restaurant and enjoyed a tasty breakfast here looking over the river. The location is superb.

Lack of mirror with decent lighting to do hair and makeup. Have this problem every room we have stayed in here. The live music in the Coppa bar too loud and intrusive making conversation practically impossible.

I loved the location of the hotel - being able to see the river from our room was lovely. Our room was very nice and very comfortable - I also liked the retro styling. The staff, almost without exception, were great - including in the Coppa Club. I really enjoyed our stay, and am happy to recommend it as a great getaway in peaceful surroundings.

Having to drag our luggage upstairs was not great - there isn't a lift, and there wasn't any offer of assistance (my sister and I are quite old ladies!) There was also a strange problem with the heat in the bathroom - we were there during quite warm weather and if the light was on in the bathroom it made the room quite hot and seemed to come from behind the mirror 🤔😳

The twin room we booked was very spacious, comfortable and had all the amenities we required for a short stay. The food at the Coppa club was also excellent and the garden setting with 'igloos' really nice and relaxing.

The staff in the restaurant were very slow to check you in. After alerting them that we were here, they directed us to the lounge bar area and said they would come back for us. They forgot us. Eventually after getting their attention again, we found our igloo table booking had gone to someone else. They did rectify this situation. Not sure if there was a staff shortage that night.

Friendly staff, excellent housekeeping. We had a dog friendly room which was spotless, there was a dog bed, bowl, towel & treats & even a doggy guest book a lovely touch. The room was a good size with a fridge which we like when going away. Large bathroom with shower, really comfy bed which was also large . Perfect position on the river, great walks with your dog, Coppa Club restaurant very dog friendly. We will be back.

Nothing everything was perfect at the hotel. The Coppa Club restaurant is a let down with the service, once we had our meals no one bothered to come over to see if everything was ok or if we needed a drink, this happened on both nights. If it wasn’t for Katie behind the bar I think we would still be sitting waiting now. She was very friendly & helpful.

Very nice location near the river. The greenery scene is very nice. The surrounding is incredible. Hotel staff were amazing. We came early on the day, and asked the reception staff for an early check in. The lady at the reception promised that once the previous guest checks out, she will inform the housekeeping to prepare the room for us. She did and we had our river view room ready early (Around 12 PM). Thanks for going extra mile. The free was handy. Breakfast in the Coppa club was decent. Room was quiet and cozy. Clean and has a nice view.

Everything was nice. But I suggest adding robes in the bathrooms, and a luggage stand in the rooms.

Outstanding service, excellent room decor, everything has been considered. I brought two dogs and they provided beds and bowls and dog towels and snacks! Great bed and shower, proper fridge with little bottles of milk and plentiful supplies. Amazing restaurant/bar with great food/drinks/service. Gorgeous outdoor space and walk along the towpath,

Small issue is that parking can be tricky at busy times, but they even had someone pumping away water from the car park when there was a flash flood.

Wonderful ambiance in the bar, snug and restaurant area. Particularly love the sofas around the fireplace and the great wine list. The starters in the restaurant were delicious. My steak main wasn't good but my friends had good main courses so maybe I just picked badly. Great atmosphere though. And they have lovely pods for 8 people outside which looked a lot of fun. And the location is wonderful - right on the river in Sonning. Nothing to do in the area but really beautiful nonetheless and Henley and Marlow are really close by if you fancied.

I didn't like staying in the twin room outside the main building. I have stayed before in a king room in the main building and it was really beautiful and full of character. The twin room is in a block that feels like university halls and the room, though big and comfortable, was devoid of character. If you book, make sure you ask for a king in the main building.
