I had done my research so it was as I had expected: clean, good service and actually very good food. It's a business type hotel so it's what it is in that sense but the space was bright and the rooms and bathrooms large and comfortable. Giving it a 9 as it lived up to what I had expected but it's not a out-there 5-star hotel but comfortable and just what we needed.

I did expect the hotel to be in a built up area but probably had expected there to be more greenery, but it's just really in a research park with a terrace overlooking offices but with nice seating and a few trees.

The room was very good and comfortable. It was large, clean, and equipped with all the required facilities. The air conditioning was working very well as well. I did have a chance to have dinner at the hotel restaurant on another occasion, and all the dishes were very delicious. They were kind enough to offer a late check-out as well, which was very much appreciated. Despite some small issues, our stay was very good and pleasant overall. It’s a recommended place.

We arrived late, around 12:15 am, so the restaurant was already closed. According to their website, there was supposed to be an all-day room service menu. However, when we tried to order, they didn’t have most of the items listed and offered only pizza. Additionally, the TV remote wasn’t working. I informed the room service staff member who delivered the food, and he took the remote to fix it but never brought it back. I also think the hotel needs to improve its 24-hour front desk service to better meet guests’ expectations at night.

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, I had only booked initially for one night and after 30 minutes in the hotel decided to extend my booking after being so impressed by the facilities and the warmth of the staff. I particularly want to mention how wonderful the hotel receptionist Melwin was, he was incredibly helpful, kind and attentive. He even helped me with directions to the event I was attending in the area and I was so impressed by his warm, friendly, welcoming, professional manner. I will definitely be returning and would encourage anyone thinking of staying to do so! Please do share my thanks to Melwin for his attentiveness

From the welcome at reception by Eric, who was outstanding, friendly, and very patient with my group. My observation of how Eric was patient and informative for the tourist being served before us. Level of standard exceptional - Well Done Team Crown Plaza Reading - Thank you for making our stay memorable and special, especially at breakfast, nice selection and the waiting staff very attentive with advice about the food selection and going out of their way to provide us an item that was not visible and they clearly made from scratch for one of the group. Well Done, and we will surely, by the Grace of God be visiting again.....soon.

Just one small hiccup, the quilt was not in one of the rooms, ready made up and laid out - But hey, we got over it :) and was not going to let this spoil our visit.

Staff were polite and helpful. My room was comfy, clean and had everything I needed. I loved the shampoo/conditioner/body lotion - one of my favourite brands! We were there for a conference. The facilities and catering were great. We were really impressed. I travelled down by train from Cardiff and my colleague drove. It was straight forward for both of us. Parking is available and free for guests.

The gym is small. I went at a busy time and there was inadequate space. It doesn’t take much for it to be tight. There were polite queues for free weights. The following morning, there were only six of us in there and it was better.

This is the second time we have stayed, and it was just as good as the first time,all staff were friendly,couldn't do enough to help from the reception team to the waiters and waitresses.Exceptionally clean,brilliant facilities and bar and food fantastic.

Other guests.....being rude to the staff,abrupt and impatient when it was busy at the bar and restaurant.We have respect for people as they are doing us a service and working to provide food and drinks,people should be patient,not rude and aggressive.

Location , hotel facilities, and free car parking. We stayed for 2 nights on half board and found the restaurant for the evening meal and breakfast excellent. The standard twin room we had was a good size and had very comfortable beds.. Also had a lovely bathroom.

A 10% service tip is charged on your bill . Check your receipts before agreeing to this excessive service charge for evening meals.. if you dont agree to this additional cost, ask for this to be deducted of your final hotel bill.

Room was perfect, spacious, clean and use of robes was a nice touch, bathroom was well equipped with the necessities and the bed was very comfortable and a great size, will definitely come back ! Bar and lounge had a nice vibe, food was great and service was impeccable.

Sadly we had to endure a fire alarm at 06:30hrs which was a false alarm and weren't told, had to call down to reception to find out, but these things happen and if it were a fire we would have been very thankful so not a complaint at all

The breakfast was lovely, it was the same the two nights I stayed though. The location is great, there is a park close by where children can play and a lake with swans, good place to experience the quietness, or buzz of nature. I would recommend Crowne Plaza Reading East. The room was clean, I barely heard noise from my room. The pool and changing room was good, although the pool isn't very deep though (1.2m). You can pay for movies or watch normal TV channels, but I wish there was Netflix or Prime opportunity we could sign up to. Check-in was quick and fast and the receptionist was quick to help when called from the room. Parking was great too, it's free just register at the reception desk. Lastly I wanted a massage but it was fully booked so book on time if you want to use this service, I was put on a waiting list just incase some one cancelled, and two people did cancel which was okay but the time was not favorable for me.

I would have preferred a change in the breakfast menu, especially on weekends. For example, a prawn sandwich or potato wedges.

Room was well presented and clean with everything that we could need. Bath difficult to get in and out of if you have any mobility issues as it's quite high. The TV kept coming on to the home screen at various times during the night. Breakfast was really high quality with a wide selection with helpful and pleasant staff. The normal slow toaster was present. The spa was clean with a nice pool, steam room and sauna although the no mobiles around the pool was not enforced. Staff were really helpful and courteous.

The Bar / Restaurant setup was a bit "odd". We were told our reservation at the restaurant was not available at the time we asked yet when we went down to the Bar we could see the restaurant was far from busy. We stayed for four nights but the lack of variety of the menu meant we only eat one evening in the bar.
