I had done my research so it was as I had expected: clean, good service and actually very good food. It's a business type hotel so it's what it is in that sense but the space was bright and the rooms and bathrooms large and comfortable. Giving it a 9 as it lived up to what I had expected but it's not a out-there 5-star hotel but comfortable and just what we needed.

I did expect the hotel to be in a built up area but probably had expected there to be more greenery, but it's just really in a research park with a terrace overlooking offices but with nice seating and a few trees.

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, I had only booked initially for one night and after 30 minutes in the hotel decided to extend my booking after being so impressed by the facilities and the warmth of the staff. I particularly want to mention how wonderful the hotel receptionist Melwin was, he was incredibly helpful, kind and attentive. He even helped me with directions to the event I was attending in the area and I was so impressed by his warm, friendly, welcoming, professional manner. I will definitely be returning and would encourage anyone thinking of staying to do so! Please do share my thanks to Melwin for his attentiveness

From the welcome at reception by Eric, who was outstanding, friendly, and very patient with my group. My observation of how Eric was patient and informative for the tourist being served before us. Level of standard exceptional - Well Done Team Crown Plaza Reading - Thank you for making our stay memorable and special, especially at breakfast, nice selection and the waiting staff very attentive with advice about the food selection and going out of their way to provide us an item that was not visible and they clearly made from scratch for one of the group. Well Done, and we will surely, by the Grace of God be visiting again.....soon.

Just one small hiccup, the quilt was not in one of the rooms, ready made up and laid out - But hey, we got over it :) and was not going to let this spoil our visit.

Staff were polite and helpful. My room was comfy, clean and had everything I needed. I loved the shampoo/conditioner/body lotion - one of my favourite brands! We were there for a conference. The facilities and catering were great. We were really impressed. I travelled down by train from Cardiff and my colleague drove. It was straight forward for both of us. Parking is available and free for guests.

The gym is small. I went at a busy time and there was inadequate space. It doesn’t take much for it to be tight. There were polite queues for free weights. The following morning, there were only six of us in there and it was better.

The breakfast was lovely, it was the same the two nights I stayed though. The location is great, there is a park close by where children can play and a lake with swans, good place to experience the quietness, or buzz of nature. I would recommend Crowne Plaza Reading East. The room was clean, I barely heard noise from my room. The pool and changing room was good, although the pool isn't very deep though (1.2m). You can pay for movies or watch normal TV channels, but I wish there was Netflix or Prime opportunity we could sign up to. Check-in was quick and fast and the receptionist was quick to help when called from the room. Parking was great too, it's free just register at the reception desk. Lastly I wanted a massage but it was fully booked so book on time if you want to use this service, I was put on a waiting list just incase some one cancelled, and two people did cancel which was okay but the time was not favorable for me.

I would have preferred a change in the breakfast menu, especially on weekends. For example, a prawn sandwich or potato wedges.

Room was well presented and clean with everything that we could need. Bath difficult to get in and out of if you have any mobility issues as it's quite high. The TV kept coming on to the home screen at various times during the night. Breakfast was really high quality with a wide selection with helpful and pleasant staff. The normal slow toaster was present. The spa was clean with a nice pool, steam room and sauna although the no mobiles around the pool was not enforced. Staff were really helpful and courteous.

The Bar / Restaurant setup was a bit "odd". We were told our reservation at the restaurant was not available at the time we asked yet when we went down to the Bar we could see the restaurant was far from busy. We stayed for four nights but the lack of variety of the menu meant we only eat one evening in the bar.

Perfect and easy free safe parking underground, friendly knowledgable staff , wonderful bar staff friendly ,hard working, nice and one in particular funny to . Great food. Only ate in the bar area and that was excellent but the restaurant through the bar looked very nice to and surprising to me the full restaurant menu was also available in the more casual bar setting .

Nothing the hotel could do really . It would have been nice for travellers over a weekend to have a way to buy forgotten essentials without a drive and there is a W.H.Smiths right opposite but sadly and understandably it is not open at weekends as it is only really for the businesses around and wouldn't make financial sense to open at weekends but it would ave been very nice to have .

Rooms are really good size, nice to have a decent size bath/shower. Beds were really comfy and good size tv. Hotel is really beautiful. Staff very helpful. Would stay here again. Even made my partners birthday even more special writing happy birthday with a slice of cake for a surprise when we entered our room.

Tv didn’t want to connect to my phone after connecting once. Staff did come to help but could only turn it off/on. Did offer us another room but we didn’t want to cause a fuss.

Rooms were a good size & bed was very comfortable. The reception & breakfast staff were very nice. The breakfast was pretty good. The sauna & steam worked well. And the loungers around the pool were relaxing. Although I didn’t end up managing to use the gym, it looked well equipped & modern.

The spa receptionist was a bit curt. The swimming pool was a bit small & salty or too much chlorine but not too the point that I couldn’t enjoy my swim wearing googles. It was my birthday so would have been a nice touch if they had perhaps offered a small complimentary treat of some kind or wished me.

Although there was a lot of surrounding offices, the hotel is 10 minute walk to park and ride bus and the train station into Reading town centre and excellent shopping centre. Easy journeys. Within a another 10 minute walk in opposite direction and between the offices there is also a nature park. Opposite the hotel is a whSmiths for snacks and newspapers but this isn't open at weekends. Use the hotel QR code on the restaurant table and you get free access to online newspapers and magazines -brilliant

Can't fault the hotel or facilities.
