This is the perfect beach house. The outer part of the house has a lower floor to keep your (dirty) shoes and/or sandy feet apart from the clean upper floor. All the amenities are there -- excellent bathrooms and kitchen, good size table. There is a jacuzzi hot tub as well.

We had some trouble locating the place, though this is mostly our lack of familiarity with Japan, and probably because our smart phones are not so smart. In Japan, the roads are not named, which makes locating an address a little difficult . We finally relied on the longitude/latitude coordinates to find the house -- thanks to the host Tadao for providing those coordinates.

The host met us at the apartment and explained how everything worked, he was very friendly and helpful. It was close to the beach It was close to places to eat. Handy to public transport Plenty of bathrooms for all of us Easy to walk to where we needed to go

There wasn't really anywhere to hang your clothes to dry, unless you opened the front windows, which faced a laneway where people walked past. So not secure to leave these windows open if you went out.

Fantastic view of Mount Fuji early in the morning on the right side behind the bay, 100 meters walk from the house. The beach is at 50 meters. Beautiful sunset on the sea. Surf and SUP for rent everywhere along the beach, including wetsuit high quality. Kamakura is an amazing place and the house is walking distance from many stunning temples. Daibutsu hiking trail from the big Buddha statue to Tsurugaoka shrine was amazing. Cherry Blossom on the main street goes on for hundreds of meters. Tadao was an extremely welcoming, efficient, clear, and kind host for Amber house.

The house is beautiful. It reminds us of the old Japanese house from the movie. It's very big and wisely planned. We're a family of four and it doesn't feel crowded at all. It's perfect if you come with family or a big group of friends. The house is right next to the beach. It gives a real feel of being in Kamakura.

This place is a treasure. So spacious and great for a family with 2 teenagers. Steps from the beach, and several cafes and restaurants. A bus stops near by to take you to the main hub where you can go anywhere. I wish we could have stayed longer.

That I can’t live there forever.

We were so comfortable here! Didn’t want to leave. After the hustle and bustle of the big cities this place has healed our souls. I would highly recommend staying here and I would love to return. The boat is also very kind and accommodating

Decor was very slick and cool. Beds very comfortable. Traditional old school Japanese house set up, so great if you want to experience this. Had a great vibe in the evening enjoying a drink at the table. Excellent restaurant at the end of the street that serves delicious local home cooked cuisine. Beach very close.

First - the bus stop to arrive at AMBER basically drops you off within a couple hundred feet! LOVED THIS KOMINKA! Felt at home. Was roomy, comfortable, great location, more than enough restrooms, minimal in design. Perfect! Great Value. Host was responsive and helpful!

Assumed the washing machine was a combo washer/dryer - did a load and ended up having to hang my clothes overnight. Not a big deal - but worth noting.

Thanks A LOT. Great stay and very comfortable. Only the key instruction a bit misleading and our neighbor girls also made the same mistakes as we did - the old big key there is a misleading.😂 Anyway,, every details worth a big 👍👍
