My partner and I plus two friends spent six days in Puglia - two of which were spent here in Monopoli. Without doubt this was the absolute highlight of an already fabulous trip - with EVERYTHING lovingly thought of and delivered, and with the loveliest of staff. We were picked up from the train station by the smiling and friendly Rocco in their fabulous 2CV and whisked through the narrow streets of the historical centre of Monopoli to simply beautiful accommodation. The building itself houses a number of different rooms and apartments - we had two studio apartments that were immaculate, beautifully designed and everything you could imagine included: a well equipped little kitchen, a lovely bathroom with robe and slippers, a tiny balcony and a super comfortable bed. Patricia the manager was an absolute delight and showed us to our rooms, and her colleague Florinda was also so charming and helpful. The breakfast, overseen by the lovely and ever attentive Daniela, was by far the best of our whole trip (plus that of our previous visit to Puglia) with a vast selection of fresh produce, both hot and cold, and the choice to sit down the little alleyway outside the property or inside a charming little room which becomes a restaurant in the evening. All the other staff too were smiling and cheerful and welcoming. The little hotel is right in the heart of this charming little old town, overlooking a picture-perfect square, and just one street from the seafront. We will definitely be coming back for a longer visit - and will use this as a perfect base to explore the area further. We all send huge thanks to everyone at Santa Maria 24 for such a magical stay. We can't wait to see you again next time!

Just Wow! Everything about our stay was magical. The room was a full apartment, magical views, gorgeous interior, wonderful helpful staff but the absolute highlight was breakfast. For someone who doesn’t usually enjoy breakfast I’ve never eaten so much. From the moment we were picked up in the complimentary transfer in the unmistakable aqua car to be driven from our parking spot outside the old town we couldn’t help smiling. We travelled for a month in Italy and this property was by far the best and incredible value. We would highly recommend for a short or long stay, it’s a wonderful base to explore northern Puglia.

Everything about our stay at Santa Maria 24 was perfect! Before we arrived Francesco was in contact to provide details of where our taxi transfer should drop us off (access to the old town was restricted) which was super helpful. We were then collected by Rocco who took us to the apartments. Everything had been thought of to make our arrival stress-free. The staff were, without exception brilliant! Very attentive but in an unassuming, friendly manner. Nothing was too much trouble. The apartment was beautiful with the most stunning view out over the sea. We couldn't fault anything about our stay and fully intend to come back in the near furture!

The location within the limited traffic zone was more of a plus than a minus for us, as it allowed our toddler to roam more freely without so many cars and bikes. Yes, it was a little walk (15 mins or so) to the garage to retrieve our car when needed, but it wasn't a deal-breaker. The breakfast spread is excellent and catered well for our dietary needs, and the staff are very friendly. The view from our window was spectacular and the room was cleaned well each day. We enjoyed our time and would stay again.

We had some issues with the air conditioner system. Having arrived at change of season, the hotel needed to change the system from heating to cooling through a technician, which was only carried out after a couple of days. Of course, we could have opened a window, however then I was being attacked by mosquitoes. The hotel was apologetic and offered us a discount on our parking and a free drink and snacks at their bar to compensate us, which was kind. The only other thing to be aware of is the many flights of stairs up to the rooms - just in case there are any joint issues. The staff help with bags, so no issues there :)

Comfie bed and great breakfast. Nice touches such as robes and decorative pieces throughout. Small kitchen and i had no need to use it with a great breakfast supplied and dozens of restaurants nearby.

If you book seaview room through booking.com be aware that the facility most likely will put you in a room at street level with windows opening over a restaurant. There is a seaview but not one of the apartments you expect from photos. Also the terrace with sun beds is only available to some bookings not all, so don’t plan your afternoon spritz on the sun terrace - you may be sorely disappointed. I advise you contact the accom and check where your room is.

Loved everything about this property - good size room, helpful staff, good breakfast, location was excellent, close to everything!! Loved the transfer from the train station to the accommodation in the small car!! So Italian 🇮🇹

Dissapointingly, The only thing we didn’t like was we could not cool our room down enough. It had an unusual air conditioner set up where there is a metal board infront of the air conditioner fan so it blocks the aircon fan cooling the room. We had it set to 16c and it still felt hot in our room. I would suggest you book a Seaview room if staying here, so you can open the door and get a sea breeze into the room. Also be warned there are stairs to get luggage up and down.

Incredible in every way. Breakfast buffet was unbelievable, location perfect, views stunning, apartment amazing, staff top notch. And the transfer from the offsite parking garage in the vintage car was worth the cost of parking just for the experience.

Nothing. Walk to/from offsite car parking garage was a bit inconvenient but very doable. And you certainly could pay for additional transfers, which we opted not to do. That is the trade off in being right in the heart of old town. So definitely not a knock on the accommodations, just something to be aware of. Most of the action is right around Santa Maria 24 anyways…we only retrieved our car one day to go to the beach.

Absolutely incredible property, a big highlight of our 3.5 week trip. Gorgeous one bedroom apartment, looking out over the water. Staff are absolutely wonderful, nothing was too much trouble, from meeting us at the carpark and driving us in to the hotel in a gorgeous old 1943 car, started our whole experience with so much fun. Perfect position, in the middle of everything, bars, cafes, groceries, bottle shop, everything is on your door stop. Even though it is in the middle of everything, you can not hear a thing, any noise is certainly not heard. Restaurant is amazing, very very good quality, we had dinner there our first night. Breakfast every day was incredible, again nothing is too much trouble for the gorgeous staff. We absolutely loved it, and if ever we venture back, we would never stay anywhere else.

Having to leave

BEST STAY IN MONOPOLI! The staff were the highlight for us. Everyone was so lovely and caring. You can tell that they are all very proud of where they work and live. All our needs were met and more. They even sang me happy birthday! Facilities are great. Stairs are a good workout! The staff will help you with your bags so don’t worry about this. There is also parking available about 7min walk away if you want the security. But again, the staff were just amazing and so nice!

The only thing I could fault of if I had to say something was that the windows didn’t fully block out all the noise outside, so there was some occasional noises. But nothing too loud to keep you up at night!

Fabulous location and wonderful staff with large bright apartment rooms that had everything you could need on a holiday. The selection of glasses was remarkable and the extra touches - slippers, bathrobes, moisturiser etc - were greatly appreciated. It was quiet but also had a lovely, colourful, holiday vibe. The breakfasts in the sun in a little alley beside Santa Maria 24 were exceptionally good with a huge number of choices including delicious fresh juices and scrambled eggs and bacon. Coffee was excellent and the staff worked hard to make sure you were happy and enjoyed your breakfast and stay. Of our eight-day stay in Puglia - this little slice of heaven in Monopoli near the sea in the old town was a standout. Highly recommend. Many thanks Santa Maria 24, Sarah & Tim - from Australia.
