I chose this hotel because of the location, right beside the famous onsen in Matsuyama. It was also easy to visit the main castle and the museum by cycle (I had cycled from Imabari after doing the Shimanami Kaido route) . The onsen was fabulous and a big drawcard for the mainly Japanese tourists. The hotel staff were professional and courteous, the breakfast was fine. The room was comfortable and clean with a view of the city.

Incredible location overlooking the old Dogo onsen building, you can see the egret up close. Staff are excellent, helped us with a number of issues including Takuhaibin and parking. Facilities are good enough--an onsite onsen would be nice but given that you are 100ft from a famous onsen it's not a big deal. Parking was very easy, and the staff was very helpful. They have an in-building parking ferris wheel thing that the staff guides you in and out of.

The shared spaces are a little small, like the lobby, but it's so close to the heart of Dogo onsen that it's really not a problem.

Staff were nice and good service, the room was really spacious and had great blackout curtains, it was in a great location for Dogo onsen, and it felt slightly more upmarket than the basic no frills places. Room climate was comfortable, and everything pretty clean.

It wasn't great how my tiny box rental car didn't fit into their multistory parking lot because of the height? So had to park up the hill in a parking lot that feels a bit isolated (but I was assured it was safe - and indeed nothing bad happened) (it's short and easy coming down, but not great if you want to go back and forth to your car or anything), and it still cost 800 yen. I think this hotel would be fantastic for people coming by train.

I asked for a room with a view of Dōgo onsen, which I got, so it was perfect. Very good noise insulation, eventhough the street was quite loud with people and I was practically the first floor above the restaurant, I did not hear a thing when I closed the windows. Spotlessly clean. Typical japanese breakfast, really good, little bit small portion. It is very convenient location, sice you can walk to onsen in your yukata and slippers. Staff is really nice, I was also allowed an early checkin. Checkout is at 11, which is definitely better than 10, like in most other places.

I was very impressed by the service. The reception was professional and friendly. I used a luggage forwarding service to deliver my luggage to the hotel prior to checking in. When I went to check in and asked for my luggage, they told me my luggage was already in my room. Sure enough, my luggage was waiting for me when I entered my room. Thank you for the thoughtful service. Other than that, everything else was nice and clean.

Great Location, Very Affordable, Good Room, Great Staff If coming from the port, it is a little far away but the hotel is near a station, outside of that the hotel is in a great location for sightseeing. A good walk to Matsuyama Castle and other sightseeing spots but also right next to Dogo Onsen The room was a bit small but still it had the necessary things needed and is still good value for your money. Staff was very professional and helpful, despite the language barrier. I would recommend staying here and I would definitely stay here again

The room was comfortable, well maintained and cared for. The hallways and common areas have an understated classiness, while although ageing gracefully, lose none of their charm or utility. The laundry service is exceptional; each item returns individually wrapped. And one more thing - perhaps the most important point left until last, the 24 hour concierge staff went above and beyond to ensure I was either warmly greeted or farewelled, each and every time we crossed paths. A truly wonderful rest experienced at the mid-point of my trip, literally next door to the famous Dogo Onsen.

Everything was fabulous: you cannot get a better location - next to the oldest onsen in Japan! Very quiet district, parking your rented car in an automated lift tower: super practical and cheap. The room was large and very comfortable, with lots of windows looking over the onsen. Breakfast was a simple Japanese traditional one, served in the restaurant nextdoor. Staff were helpful and some spoke English. Highly recommended: Matsuyama is really worth a visit.

The hotel is located right next to Dogo Onsen. Its a lovely area to walk around in with restaurants, shopping area close by. The hotel and room were nice and we had a very comfortable stay. It was also reasonably priced. Staff was good and we had no problems. Easy walk to the tram station and airport limousine.

Would have liked English tea and coffee in the room, though they made an effort to provide it in the lobby in the morning. Breakfast was Japanese and not great and identical on both days.

The bathroom was the cleanest of all the hotels/hostels I stayed at in Japan, which was incredible given the amount of people staying in a room. I also liked that there was a luggage room/area before the beds so that you couldn't hear people rummaging through their stuff in the night. Overall, very pleasant and comfortable.

The number of beds/people in a the room can be overwhelming, but the beds have enough privacy with the curtains that you can kind of forget about it.
