High-rated full-service hotel conveniently connected to the Takamatsu JR station and the Symbol Tower conference center. Courteous and helpful staff. Clean and spacious rooms with nice views on the Seto inland sea and the city. Excellent breakfast buffet with lots of warm and cold traditional Japanese, Chinese and international options. Several good quality restaurants in the hotel, and many other restaurants in the vicinity, including beer tasting pubs. The wonderful Ritsurin Garden is a few bus stops only from the hotel and deserves the travel to Takamatsu. I will return to JR Clement Hotel next time I am in town.

This hotel is at a perfect location- 5 minutes walk to the JR station, subway, JR bus terminal and the pier. I set off 15 minutes before my ferry to Naoshima and Shidoshuma two days in a row. After a hot day on the island, I could just go back to my room and relax a bit before setting off for evening shopping/dining. It is also reasonably close to the main shopping area (15 minutes walk along the main road). You could also choose to take a bus there which costs 200 yen. For Ritsurin Garden, it is also easily accessible by subway or bus. The staff was friendly and professional. There was cleaning for my room every day. Though the hotel might not be very new, it is a superb place for you to enjoy a relaxing and moderately luxurious stay in Takamatsu. Not to mention the sea view from my room was just epic!

I could hear people walking on the floor above me at times. And perhaps the wooden furniture was not perfectly new, I could hear creaking noise at night (which was a bit scary at first).

3 minutes walk from: - Takamatsu station where we arrived from Okayama - ferry terminal where you can take ferries to naoshima, teshima etc (this was a big plus point for us) - local train station that takes you to the city area though you can also easily walk Views were fantastic from our room, breakfast was good, rooms were very clean, there’s a laundromat within the hotel which made it really convenient. All in all, excellent stay.

Comfortable room with a great view of the port, castle area and city. I really enjoyed Takamatsu. The Ritsurin garden was probably my favourite garden in Japan, and I visited many in my month there. It was easy to travel to the islands and other cities on Shikoku - indeed I extended my stay at the Clement as I was so comfortable.

It does not have a pool or an onsen - if it did it would probably be a five star hotel and much much more expensive.

I love that it was near the port and that made it very easy for me to take the ferry to the various islands. The room is small but sufficient and would have been great to look at the sea but since I did not book a room with a view, that is wholly my problem. Breakfast was nice but because I was rushing to catch the ferry, I did not explore the spread. The next time I will allow myself more time. Love the area.

The location was the best - I could walk to every place : Kitahama Alley, covered shopping mall. Sanuki udon , n view cherry blossoms at night at Castle grounds. I had bay view room n enjoyed my take away breakfast with their lovely tea n coffee n nice dishes in room. I arrived early afternoon for just one night so the location helped me to cover everything I had planned to see, do n eat I. That short time.

I enjoyed everything about this hotel

Perfect location and amazing views from the top floors. Very comfortable beds and rooms. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Parking in the basement was very practical. Try out the amazing Shiki restaurant,must book in advance as it's very small and you can taste freshly cooked local seafood and the famous waggyu beef, plus a great choice of sakes. The chef prepares everything in front of you: delicious and beautifully done too!

Great location near Takamatsu station and nice, comfortable room. Bathroom was lovely, breakfast was lovely and all the staff were also helpful and friendly.

We had a “sea and city view corner twin” but it was mostly city view- you had to crane a bit to see the sea and our view was less of the sea than the photo on the listing on booking.com In the UK it wouldnt have been sold as a sea view.

The location is unrivalled for Takamatsu, just steps from the JR Terminus and right across the road from the ferry services. The local bus station as adjacent to the hotel also. There are plenty of friendly little izakiyas to explore nearby to indulge in the famous island specialty, udon. I was delighted with my room with a huge window looking down to the bustling ferry docks and beyond. The room was large, and very nicely appointed, although strangely it lacked an in-room safe. Maid service was timely, and unobrtrusive.

The inclusive breakfast was disappointingly underwhelming from a westerners perspective, way below the standard and variety you'd expect from a hotel of this calibre. The Japanese buffet seemed comparatively small also from what I have seen in similar standard hotels. Some carpet in the breakfast room was so filthy replacement would be the only option. My personal score would be 8/10.

The hotel is very well positioned right opposite the main railway station and from the upper floors you have lovely views over the bay. Staff were very helpful however the room was on the small side. My wife and I are both vegetarian so the choice of breakfast was quite acceptable. The bar on the very top floor has a lovely atmosphere at night and wonderful views over the city and the bay
