It is a great location on the water in central Chesapeake Beach. Currently, it is being heavily renovated and will soon have rooms available overlooking the marina and the Bay. There are several restaurants on the property, including The Dock where we had delicious crab cake sandwiches for lunch. Also on the property is a very nice railroad museum featuring the early 20th Century railway ties to Washington, DC, and the Chesapeake Beach steamship terminal that facilitated about 500 ships plying the Bay to Baltimore and surroundings. Finally, we were extremely gratified that when I had to go to the nearby ER with a sudden onset of lung problems, the Rod And Reel graciously comped my wife a room for the extra night she had to stay at the property. Real service!

There was nothing we did not like. It will be even better when the renovations, which are near completion, are finished.

I am being visiting this establishment for 10 years. It would have been rated a 10 if I could have received by massage. An appointment was made for 5pm. I was called & told the massage had to be cancelled because the individual was not coming to work that day. Since it was my birthday this was an extreme disappointment. Realizing that this is not a service that is offered by your hotel. I would recommend that you speak with contractor & indicate that they should have an on call personnel to hand customers when employees call out.

I love the property no problems

The property is currently under construction so the view from the parking lot is not what it once was, and will be again, when the improvements are completed. I do like that you’re in the “ heart” of Chesapeake Beach with several restaurants within walking distance as well as a few fast-food places. We had a lovely view of Chesapeake Bay from our window!

In the morning, we had no hot water for a shower or using the sink. We told the desk clerk when we left and hope that she passed the information on. Since we were there only one night, it was only a minor inconvenience.

Loved the overall environment, the atmosphere and on top of all the view! The books available at the lobby served as a good distraction while we waited for our room to be clean. It was worth the wait and the hospitality was pleasing.

The wait for our room to be cleaned was questionable. Had to wait 30 more minutes and was told to wait another ten minutes for the room to be cleaned, so we had gone to eat. Coming back we were told to wait even more for the room to be clean. Didn't wait as long thankfully so we were given our room a little after.

The view from the rooms was amazing to look at the water. The restaurants were walking distance. Most places were open until 1am - 2am so we were able to get late night food and drinks.

Some of the furniture in the room was outdated and looked dirty. It was clean, but there were brown stains everywhere that were unappealing.

The location is amazing! The staff are very friendly, and high customer service. I love being able to walk to restaurants in town and other activities like the Lovely Art Gallery, the new French Bakery/Market, the great restaurant on the premises 1936.

The rooms are old. The hall is new so you think the room will match. The bathroom needs updating. For the price you are paying the room needs an upgrade with paint, more modern look with bathroom.

We enjoyed the room, view, great food and peaceful environment. The commute was perfect too. We were looking for a quiet staycation getaway by the water to escape the congested city and we found it!

The room was clean but it smelled like smoke despite the no smoking signs. The room could also use a little TLC. We were disappointed that the indoor pool was unavailable. That was one of the reasons for selecting the location. We also didn't realize our view would be facing a construction site. It wasn't too loud for us so we worked through it. Although it's not very pleasant now, I'm sure it will be beautiful when it's complete. Hopefully, we'll get the opportunity to get the same view when they're done.

Everything was clean, very friendly staff and helped with places to eat, can't waiting till the construction is done it's gonna be beautiful!

The beds were NOT comfortable at all my back and body hurt, plus I do believe they had bed bugs. Cause I found some when I got home so now I have to spray my house!

Staff was nice. House keeper was sweet and seemed happy. Bed was comfy. However, there was no extra blanket or bed spread. It was fine though. I brought my own. The soaps in the shower were nice. Shower was great. Good water pressure.

The Ŕod & Reel restaurant demolished. We enjoyed breakfast there. The currant restaurant has a limited menu and no TOAST! Strange. The room was stale. The fan needed to be turned on to circulate air.

Location

They were under construction. Pool was closed due to this. Parking should be listed as off site due to location of parking garage. Parking is also shared by the gamblers (non guests) who take all the handicapped and close parking spots. No “bellmen” to help with the 1/8 mile trek from parking to resort.
