I like the bar and restaurant area and the gardens you could sit in and have a drink and a meal We had a meal and I had the best chicken bacon salad. My husband had a very tasty steak pie . All staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Our room was a twin and two very comfortable beds . Bathroom was excellent good size bath with shower . Open front wardrobe to hang clothes. Nice size flat screen TV. Coffee and tea and a kettle .

We had a room with no window only two high up skylights. hugh up . Our room got very hot but we did have a large fan which helped a modecome . If we return we will ask for a room with a window .

The stand-out memory from this stay will be the staff. Friendly, helpful and very cheerful - that applies to the lady at reception, the bar staff, the gentleman who took the breakfast order (at 7:00am) and the ladies who were doing the cleaning. My complements to the team! Breakfast was a little unusual - no buffet table, but a system where we had to order everything from the type of cereal we wanted, to the fruit juice and cooked selection. Prior to ordering, I was sceptical. After finishing, I was converted - really well delivered and minimum waste. The fact it was served from 7:00am was a real bonus for us. Parking was fine, with a separate area for hotel guests. Location is very subjective. We were on a long journey and being able to pull off the M5 before Birmingham made it the perfect location for us. Not sure I'd want to spend a holiday there, but for travel purposes it was ideal. To say it was so close to the motorway (and near a busy road) our room was surprisingly quiet. It was a hot day and the room was quite stuffy, however there was a fan provided in the room which made a big difference. One of those little things that really count. It's not the Ritz, but it was clean, friendly and very good value.

The room did not have any windows in the wall (although there were two in the roof). However, negatives need to be taken in the context of the price and hence no complaints. We fully intend to stay there on the next occasion when we have to do that journey.

I stayed overnight at the Crown enroute to Dartmoor. It was the perfect stop and I'll definitely be staying again. There is plenty to discover around the Crown and worth staying at least a couple of nights. Located just off the motorway (I didn't hear traffic from the motorway) its perfect to stop on your travels. The room and bed was very clean and comfortable with a lovely bathroom. All of the staff I met were welcoming and friendly. I had an evening meal which was great, cooked perfectly. I had a cooked breakfast which was fresh and set me up for the day.

There was nothing I didn't like

Great location to all the areas we wanted to go to Reasonable prices for a two night stay Evening meal was nice

No fruit available for the continental breakfast option We asked for banana apple and even orange non in stock All they had was strawberries and blueberries Kettle leaked even though it had a PAT Test done a few weeks earlier So got another kettle and it had a massive crack in the lid but worked Black mould in the bathroom, sink plug broken, door stopper missing the rubber and also loose

The room (8) was clean, bed was very comfortable and the room well equipped with the essentials, tea, coffee, milk, hairdryer, tv. The cooked breakfast was very good. The mega mixed grill was such good value I had it both evenings. Excellent quality meat too. Not an extensive menu but a good choice to cater for all tastes. The staff were amazing, polite, friendly, helpful and seemed genuinely happy in thier jobs. Excellent location.

There was quite a noise from the adjoining cupboard / room which sounded like some sort of fan or vent that kicked in every hour or so but not a real pain so as to stop me sleeping. The open and tilt mechanism door leading to the balcony was broken when we arrived and had come off the runner/hinge at the bottom. The manager said he would report it to the maintenance team. We didn't need to access the balcony at all so not a real problem.

Clean but very basic accommodation. Only half a mile from M5 which makes it very convenient for an overnight stop on a long journey. Staff friendly & helpful, plenty of parking space. At £45 a night represented decent value for an overnight stop, but wouldn't have wanted to stay longer.

Room only had skylights & no proper windows. Wanted a double bed but was given a twin. Was told they could push the beds together & give me a double duvet, but then said there were no double duvets spare. Also had to ask for towels as there were none in the room. Kettle & cups in room, but no tea or coffee provided Food on offer is cheap, but very much freezer to fryer or microwave.

Staff were very welcoming and our room was very clean and comfortable. A small balcony was an added bonus especially as it was warm. We have no complaints and would highly recommend a stay at the Crown as it was good value for money.

We booked a table for evening meal and there was a wait of about 1 hour 10 for our food. However, this was due to staff shortages and the staff that were present were apologetic and very friendly and professional. The food was amazing (the steak was perfection) so was most definately worth the wait!

I was on my way back from Central Wales to Essex and wanted to stop over for the night. I had a double-room and all was good. Parking was fine and check-in was fine. The check-in was at the main bar and was very friendly. The room was very comfortable - coffee and tea making facilities a god-send. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was very good. I had dinner here - nothing special to rave about; standard fayre but okay and reasonably priced. I also had a few beers - again, all okay. I didn't bother with breakfast as I wanted to 'get going' in the morning. This would have been an extra charge so I didn't miss out on anything. The hotel is on a main road with side-road access to the hotel parking. Parking was good with plenty of other parking available if the hotel car-park was full. For me, this place was great for a comfortable overnight stay without having to leave the building.

All was good for me.

Had an excellent meal in the evening, caterers for vegetarians well, lovely salad. Did not have breakfast as needed to get away to Somerset for work meeting. Very handy for M5 motorway, so quickly on our way. Excellent value for money, friendly and helpful staff.

Room facing front was a little noisy at times with traffic, but after our drive and quick access from motorway, slept soundly.

The bed is really comfortable. Staff are lovely and, as it was super weather, having my evening meal in the garden was a bonus. Perfect location for the Stables Business Centre which is less than 5 minutes in the car / 10 minute walk

It was really hot so windows had to be open. Road is noisy if you are staying in the front of the hotel. Wouldn't stop me from staying there again though - it isn't often that is it that hot in the UK!
