Great location I don’t use the bar, restaurant and leisure facilities but these seemed very nice when I walked through. Clean room, comfy bed, large smart TV, good size room.

Lots of maintenance needed in the bedrooms-it didn’t hinder my stay but for a 4* you would expect better. Cracked window, shower heat knob kept falling off, broken air con which I was only made aware of after my booking thankfully it wasn’t a hot day, fridge was only cool at best. Like I said non of these hindered my stay and I got a good deal on the room. However if I were to have paid full price over £100 it would not have been good value for money. 3* at best.

This hotel is in a great location for visiting family when we are down from Scotland we stay twice a year and it’s fantastic it’s dog friendly always friendly staff that are happy to help

We were given a horrible room that we were not happy with it was down loads of stairs no view from the window and smelt of damp but we were able to change to a different room that we were happy to spend the 6 nights. This visit the room was not as clean as we would normally expect from this hotel but it was sorted after we spoke to reception. The dog charge is very high at £15 per night it’s should be capped at a price . As £90 is very high we have stayed in 5 star hotels all over the uk and not paid this much for our dog we understand that if you have a dog you pay for them but nearly a hundred pounds is very high . For members of your IHG loyalty program this should be cheaper or have your charge per night but if you are staying for a longer stay cap it at a price per stay .

Breakfast was excellent - plenty of choice & good quality. Rooms clean, location good & all made for a great stay.

On the first night one of our 2 rooms' lights fused & we were in complete darkness. We elected to stay in the room as my 8 year granddaughter was very tired & it would have been too difficult to pack up (in the dark) & move us both. We used the light from my phone & managed. I have been given a £30 refund as a gesture of good will. I would have expected a little more as the whole of our 1st night was a bit tricky (to say the least) & even using the bathroom the next morning wasn't straightforward. The lights were fixed by maintenence the next morning & we didn't let it spoil our break. I have stayed at this hotel before so I know how good it is. Maybe the hotel could have been a little more generous with us?

The location is easy to get to from the M5, the refurb is great and looks so welcoming. Staff all friendly, lots of areas to sit and have a drink, ate in restaurant and food was quick and service very good. Rooms are clean and beds comfortable. Toiletries in room are excellent. The outside area is lovely in nice weather. Lots and lots of parking. Pool area looked great though we didn't have time to use it.

Housekeeping staff need to be shown how to make a bed properly! Even with time constraints, the sheet was just thrown on, the duvet not in the cover properly and inside out! Once I'd redone all good in the room as everything else spotless.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay. It was a convenient location for a family get together (15 of us) and we have stayed here before for the same reason. The hotel appears to have had a make over in the last couple of years, particularly the bar area and communal areas with a bigger bar and much more seating. There were big TVs showing sports. The general hotel appearance was good and clean. The staff in particularly were excellent from the receptionists to the two young ladies in the restaurant to George the Duty Manager. The rooms overall appeared modern and the shower was lovely and warm. The breakfast was really nice and plentiful.

We had a few niggles but talked them through with the Duty Manager who was very helpful. I felt our room was small and the bed very small even though it was meant to be a standard double I thought it was smaller than that. I didn't have a particularly comfortable night but others in the party said they did so probably just me. There was a wedding reception on in one room and the main restaurant was also busy so the kitchen was very busy. When our main meals came I felt they may have been kept in the warmer and some were a little dry. The starters and desserts were all very good though.

The staff were friendly. Our room seemed to have been newly renovated, so everything seemed quite new. The bed was comfortable, the lighting was good and there was tea and coffee in the room. The walk-in shower was powerful and there was a good supply of hot water. My husband used the gym and pool facilities and said they were fine/good. The breakfast buffet had a good variety - cold meats and cheese, fruit and yoghurt, cooked breakfast, a range of bread items etc. The hotel was in a good location for our onward journey to friends in southwest Birmingham and then on to north Wales. We have tended to stay in Hilton hotels over the last 7 years - this Holiday Inn compared favourably and was better value.

The room was quite small. However, as the room size is displayed at the time of booking, this is not a factor that affects my rating of the hotel.

The property itself was stunning! Looked like it has had a full refurb! Rooms were very clean and tidy - kitted out with biscuits, crisps, chocolates, cans of coke and plenty of water too! The staff were lovely and really couldn’t do enough for you. Food was delicious! We had pizza and chips and thought it was very reasonably priced for the portion sizes, drinks were reasonable too! My husband and son went swimming, they absolutely loved it and it was very clean and tidy. Great stay over all!

The only thing to be wary about - we entered our car details on their system when we walked in and were prompted too and we’ve still received a parking ticket which we are now trying to appeal!

The hotel was so modern, rooms were lovely, very clean, loved the snack and drinks that were in the room and mini fridge when we arrived! We had food in the bar on the evening and it was 10/10 plus the breakfast was the best I’ve ever had! The pool facilities was just right and the kids loved it just needs updating, the staff were so friendly, welcoming and were great with the kids too! I couldn’t believe we only paid £125 for a family of 4 for one night plus breakfast and the use of the pool facilities, didn’t expect it to be as nice and good as it was, I was more than pleased and would definitely come back!

The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. He had a calm and attentive manner and gave clear instructions. All restaurant staff were friendly and polite, and food was great value and came out quickly. Breakfast was well presented and had lots of choice, and the morning team was also very friendly and welcoming. Our bedroom was spacious and clean and had everything we needed, including a fridge with water and chocolate and a well stocked choice for hot drinks with biscuits and crisps. The hotel was well presented and clean, and the staff outside doing maintenance were also friendly. There was lots of space and places to sit.

We used the pool for a short while, but the whole space could do with modernising as it looks a bit run down and grubby. (This would be hard as it is a selling point for the hotel) The jacuzzi wasn't in use.

The bed was far too soft, the pain in the ceiling was peeling off. The leisure facilities - sauna not working door off. Hot tub had tiles missing and was dangerous along with uncomfortable to sit. Needs more than just 2 seats around pool The main disappointment was the leisure facility, which was the main reason for booking this holiday inn and not a holiday inn Express which is not too far away and includes breakfast
