The location of Grafton Manor when travelling North - South through the UK or vice versa is ideal. A superb stopping off spot after a long drive. The standard of catering is excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Why anyone would book into Grafton Manor and then eat somewhere else is a mystery. We were very impressed with The Garden Room, very spacious and comfortable. We did not have the time to explore the grounds but they are well kept and look enticing Will definitely stay again

I imagine the venue has only been in use for a fairly short time as a lot of work is still required to bring the building back up to the standard it once was. A little bit of rustic charm is one thing but first impressions are very important and the entrance and façade need some work still

Just what we expected, if you want modern go to a premier inn. We received a very friendly welcome at reception and was told we had received a complimentary upgrade. Lovely views over the lake and grounds. Watched a heron fishing in the morning in the lake. All the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good and the evening meal was fantastic, great value for money. We will definitely stay again when in the area.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was great. As I was travelling with my daughter who's coeliac, it was so great that there was plenty of gluten free food she could eat. The staff and chef seemed very aware of what's needed for coeliac disease. The beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. Tea and coffee in the room. I loved the quirky paintings and pictures all along the walls and the history of the place - also the fabulous walnut wardrobe in our room. I was there for a wake - it was well-catered for - again - a good choice of food for coeliacs.

The decor is in need of a makeover before too long.- it's fine but the wallpaper and carpets look very 90s - so not quite old enough to have vintage charm. However, so nice to stay somewhere that isn't completely characterless - just so much potential for a really quirky and characterful hotel.

The friendliness of the staff. The beautiful grounds and setting. The breakfasts were really good. Food for evening meal was really good and waiter exceptional.

In Chestnut Room The beds were a bit hard. Could have had 2 chairs not just one in our twin bedded room. Bathroom light kept going off. Bedside light had no bulb & on investigation it appeared the socket was at fault. Needs fixing. Would have preferred a walk-in shower.

Lovely location, fabulous building, all staff very friendly & courteous. Room compact but comfortable & perfect for a fabulous overnight stay. For longer stays a larger room would be ideal ... but at ~£100 per double room, this would soon get quite pricey.

The only thing we struggled with was the coffee machine! Perhaps it was us not being used to their specific machine but sadly we had to resort to instant coffee ... but at least there was that option!

The staff were exceptional and very accommodating in ensuring the room was suitable for my 7 month pregnant wife. Breackfast was also very good while dinner was filling, making it worthwhile. A special thanks to Mia and Kate. The building is fantastically dated with lots of character without losing much comfort. The choach room was warm and clean, the bed and sofa were comfortable. High ceilings throughout and just a very plesant place to be. Bathroom had a large shower only, no bath, but this was a very good size.

There is nothing negative to share about the hotel or its staff; other hotels may provide a cheaper nights stay with more modern comforts but without the amazing environment and character.

The room was very well presented. The staff on reception were very helpful and also pre booked my breakfast as I would need to leave quite early. The setting is excellent, lots of gardens to wander around. I had an evening meal on site as well and that was excellent. Also reasonably priced.

The location is a little remote, so if you intend to not eat on site then you will need to drive. Due to weather, my room was quite warm, air con would have been good, but I appreciate the building is not suited to this.

The grounds were fabulous, and lovely to walk around before breakfast and after our evening meal. The food was excellent albeit a limited menu but had plenty for us to choose from and enjoy. The breakfast choice and quality could not be faulted. The staff we met each and everyone were wonderful and friendly

Nothing it is what we expected from an old Manor House quirky and lovely

Lovely setting and what a great hotel. The suite was fabulous with a lovely dressing room and a wonderful bathroom. The evening meal was delicious and the waiter - Nick was great. This was a great find for us and can’t wait to go back

I should have asked but there was no vegetarian option on the morning breakfast only the regular full English. This in no way was a problem and there was still plenty to eat.

Gorgeous grounds, beautiful place, all staff were really friendly and helpful especially Mia and Nick, dinner and breakfast were both superb with fantastic choices for both and quality ingredients all cooked to perfection, very comfy bed and spacious beautiful room

The sofas could really do with refilling both in the room and bar area as they were hard and quite uncomfortable Stayed on a weekday and bar and reception etc was all closed down by 10pm, not a massive issue but wasn't aware that it would all be closed as would have purchased wine and more water from the bar earlier for the room if we'd have known.
