Lovely location away from noise and roads. This was our second stay here. We had such a great time the first time, we thought we would return. The staff are excellent, polite and always have a smile when greeting guests.

Plagued by flies in the restaurant. Breakfast buffet room was swarming with flies! Although most of the food was covered, the cheeses were not covered properly and many flies were feasting on the cheese! There was crusty bread in a basket which wasn't covered. The room was very nice but there were many stains on the carpet and quite a few spiders in the room, wardrobe and bathroom. The bathroom floor needs a good clean. The bedroom itself needed a good vacuuming especially so around the bed, under the bedside tables etc as the carpet was very dusty. The bedside table lamp bases were extremely dusty too. The waste bin in the room had not been emptied from the previous occupant. There were a couple of flies in there as there was thrown away food and wrappers.

Beautiful grounds and hotel facilities, staff were very helpful

We booked a king room with a fridge and safe, unfortunately we were initially given a room in one of the converted barns which had neither, it also had a double bed and not a king size one. On speaking to reception they suggested an upgrade might be available in the main hotel building. Essentially we ended up in this room which was lovely, but it was the room we paid for and not an upgrade. The breakfast was ok but could have definitely been warmer, the hot items were lukewarm at best. I know it sounds like we didn't have a great stay, but this was not the case, it's a beautiful hotel, with very professional staff and gorgeous rooms/ bathrooms and the decor was lovely. We would love to come back and stay longer.

The Building is stunning as are the grounds. The overall ambience is excellent and we got a late check out which helped a lot. The spa area is pleasant. Our room was lovely, four poster bed and a huge bathroom. Molten Brown Toiletries are a nice touch (although the body was dispenser in my shower was empty).

The breakfast is not representative of a hotel of this standard. It's a buffet, served under catering style silver trays. It was average at best. I'd expect an Al a carte menu for hot breakfast, with buffet selection for cold/continental. The table cloth wasn't clean and the seat had crumbs on it, again, not acceptable at this price point. We moved table. The staff were all very young with no seniors around which mad things a little clunky in terms of service. Lunch seemed incredibly expensive and after checking the receipt saw a 12.5% service charge added. This was not discussed and I certainly didn't receive 12.5% level of service.

We have stayed at the hotel before and it was lovely to return. Great location, close to Stratford and lovely grounds to relax in. The one bonus this year is that air conditioning has been installed in the rooms, which was very welcome as we had hot weather. The staff were experiencing technical difficulties with check-in when we arrived and couldn't cut key cards, but they couldn't have been more helpful in escorting us to our rooms when needed.

Train the bar staff to have a bit more flexibility on the menu. We wanted to order the cream tea for 3 people but it was only served for two. The extra scone wasn't a problem - but giving the staff the leeway to make sensible decisions and how to charge for exceptions would be a good thing to do.

The hotel was in a beautiful setting. The grounds were so lovely and with the warm weather we could sit outside for drinks. All staff were very courteous and helpful. We stayed in the barn, the room was great with a good sized bathroom with shower. It was so peaceful the only thing you could hear were the birds. The carpark was very close with four electric car charging stations. The spa was very peaceful too. We didn’t have treatments we just used the pool, steam room and sauna. Towels were provided on arrival. The restaurant provided a lovely choice of menu and breakfast was great and plentiful.

Great looking place and the rooms are really comfortable, well fitted and clean

I’d stayed about a year earlier and that was a better experience. The food this time was not as interesting, smaller portions and cost more. Last time the food was really fabulous and special. The waiter didn’t really seem to understand the menu that well and was not interested when we said the filet steak was tough and £43. The coffee at breakfast was really poor and desperately weak. I was offered an americano from the bar which I declined but that’s not the point.

Stunning hotel and stunning grounds. We stayed in the Manor House four poster suite which was huge, spacious with an amazing bathroom. Beautiful bedroom. Breakfast was great. Massage was relaxing. Staff were very friendly. Lovely afternoon tea. Nice swimming pool that my baby enjoyed a lot. We really enjoyed our stay.

Would have liked to have more hours in the day for my baby to go in the pool. We were limited to specific time slots. We only got to go for about 40 minutes as it was my babies nap time just before and in the morning baby slept in because he couldn’t sleep the night before. So we didn’t really get to make use of the pool as we would have liked in our two night stay.

The location is brilliant and I love the yew garden. The bright sunny weather helped, of course. The grounds and the house are kept in excellent condition. Nothing too fancy, and peaceful and quiet overall appealed to me.

The food was not quite up to standard, especially not the vegetarian options. It seemed I had the same roasted vegetables in my sandwich for lunch as I did with the Tagliatelle in the evening. Breakfast was a bit chaotic and rather crowded. Not enough choices of bread and the croissants were rather stale. The pool area is rather small, but I suppose it is what it is.

Great location, deluxe room was fantastic - very comfortable and warm, loved the open coal fires in the lounge bar areas Good room service

Meal times restaurant - nice food, little hiccup with our evening main meals not coming together, had to wait another 10 minutes for mine to arrive - waitress did apologise and the main meal was taken of final bill. Breakfast time - would be better for table service for hot food and just buffet for rest - congested at times through door ways to get your food - cereal table in totally wrong place in corridor adjacent to doorway, juggling to put milk on on small table area

We loved our stay! Such a gorgeous hotel and the staff were so, so lovely. We were unexpectedly given a room upgrade to a suite which was amazing as it included a roll top bath! We ordered snacks and drinks from the bar which were lovely quality and just overall we had an amazing, amazing time. We will definitely be returning!

Three things that could be improved are firstly the cleanliness in the spa changing rooms. There was rubbish all over the floor (plastic cups) and loads of girls hair all over the floor. Secondly the swimming pool was a little bit of a let down. The spa area itself is lovely and I can’t comment on the treatments (even though the rooms had the most gorgeous scents) but the pool was smaller than expected plus the steam room/sauna is really small. Lastly, there was no jacuzzi! Which was a shame. Lastly, the breakfast was a bit hit and miss for us. So much choice but the food looked like it needed to be cooked more. Sausages, bacon, eggs all looked a little underdone which put me off slightly
