The location was perfect and the room was light and spacious. Both the room and the bathroom (also spacious) were very clean. We had no problems with external noise. The staff were friendly and helpful and check-in was easy and quick.

Our only quibble was with the breakfast. On the website, a vegetarian breakfast was advertised but was not available on the day. Also, the set breakfasts. did not include fruit juice or any sort of cereals, fruit or yoghurts, as would be typical in many places. If you ordered the "Full English Breakfast", that was what you got with no extras. For some people, the absence of a lift might be an issue, though it was OK for us.

Great location and friendly staff. Really close to the theatre and the Guildhall which was very interesting and well worth a visit.

We booked a luxury room as after a busy day we wanted a long soak in the bath. There was no hot water for the bath, shower was ok. The manager was a little defensive saying it was an old building so to be expected. A plumber was called and there was hot water later when we returned from the theatre which we were grateful for. Another issue is that if you book through a 3rd party site breakfast is not included. The staff told us if we booked direct the room charge would be the same as through this site and breakfast would be complimentary

The hotel is very centrally located; it's easy to get to the theatre, shops, restaurants and the train station. The building is old and beautiful. The room was large and nicely decorated, with a good bed and facilities. Very nice bathroom with roomy shower. The hotel also operates a bar and restaurant and the food and drinks were very good and very affordable. The staff were lovely. I wish my stay had coincided with the weekly champagne happy hour!

A lift would have been nice, as I stayed on the second floor, but I can climb stairs.

I only spent one night but I am already wanting to return! The Townhouse is a gem - all of the modern conveniences coupled with exceptional style and historic atmosphere! The room was well appointed with just the right tasteful nod to Shakespeare. I love that the room included a mini fridge, iron, fan and hair dryer as well as a kettle and plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. The decor is beautiful and the restaurant, bar and lounges are cozy and tasteful. I did not enjoy the food but I am sure it is excellent. From the moment you walk in, it is clear that you will be comfortable, welcomed and well taken care of!

Not a thing- wish I could've have stayed longer!

Excellent location, beautifully decorated. In an old historic home.

Our room was at the front of the property so there was quite a bit of street noise. I would definitely stay here again, but I would request a different room. There was a private event on Sunday afternoon/evening which meant the bar and restaurant were closed to guests. I wish this would have been disclosed when we booked, or at least when we checked in. After a day of sightseeing we were cold and tired and were looking forward to having a drink at the bar. It wasn’t a big deal that the bar was closed to guests. We figured we’d just grab a drink and bring it up to our room but we were told even that wasn’t an option.

I simply love this place. Perfect location, super nice staff, elegant rooms, the loveliest little courtyard and - believe it or not - the complimentary breakfast includes the very best croissants I've ever had (and I've had quite a few also in Paris and Co.). I would absolutely recommend staying there and I will definitely come back.

Only two tiny things: (1) when I arrived in my room, the smell wasn't nice (surely has to do with the drains). But I opened the window and switched on the fan and the smell was gone and did not return. (2) there is no lift (at least I haven't seen one, sorry if I just missed it) and if you have big luggage you have to drag it up the stairs. However, the stairs only have a few steps and I am very sure the lovely staff would help everyone if necessary.

Excellent location. Beautifully decorated with lots of character. Clean. Friendly and helpful staff.

It is looking a little tired in places and would benefit from some small jobs being done to tidy it up. Our bedsheets had big stains on (looked like makeup stains which hadn’t come out in the wash) - staff were very helpful in helping us change them after we’d arrived late in the evening, but housekeeping should never have put them on the bed in the first place.

I loved my first stay so much I booked again! Red checked me in and they were so friendly and welcoming! My room was available early which was a nice perk! I asked Red for recommendations for dinner and they remembered and asked me in the morning where I had decided. Afternoon dinner I returned for coffee and dessert which I took to my room. It was delicious! The Townhouse exudes charm, friendliness and hospitality! I hope to return often!

Some might not enjoy or be able to climb the stairs with their luggage but I like the charm of the large original staircase!

I didn't have breakfast. I booked the hotel as I was invited to my Nephew's Wedding in Stratford. The location was perfect to wander around the beautiful town. The staff, especially Daniel and Joey were very friendly and helpful and recommended the Edward Moon restaurant a few minutes away which was excellent! The room had a good view and was very quaintly and traditionally decorated. There was a good ambiance in the bar area.

The only criticism was that the carpet in my room was a little shabby and needed replacing but everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable, although I did notice that there was not a mattress protector under the bed sheets which is very surprising considering it's a hotel. I would very much recommend them putting one in place.

This is a really nice upmarket hotel in the centre of Stratford walking distance to the cinema and central attractions. Room was very nicely furnished and room bay window looked out onto Shakespear school building. Very Quite. Allowed us to check in early. Perfect. Loved the place. Worth the extra cost.

Like many central hotels in stratford upon avon no parking. We used NCP carpark about 150m away at cost of 10GBP for 24 hrs. Paid parking around hotel is 1 hr max until 6pm, close to RSC it is 2hr max until 6pm. Another option is overnight parking (4pm to 8 am) at council parking spots about 400m away is 3.3GBP.
