Location is excellent for visiting Stratford, with just a short walk to the centre. Room was clean and topped up daily. Staff in the hotel were pleasant and did all that was asked

The price of breakfast is ridiculous for what it is(a buffet style), they’re are far better options in the centre of Stratford. Having to pay for parking when you’ve already paid for your room is also a nonsense, this should be included in the stay. The steam room wasn’t working meaning only the pool and sauna were available. This made it all a little cramped. Not enough beds or chairs are around the pool area, other spa hotels I’ve visited have a far better set out. The two young members of staff at the spa area on the Sunday morning were the least helpful people I’ve met in a while.

On arrival the receptionist was very inhospitable - rude and unpleasant which was very disappointing. On asking a second time for room directions (in a hotel we didn’t know) she was very, very abrupt.

Lovely attentive waiter (tall. chap, glasses, most smiley) and nothing was too much trouble. He is a credit to your company. Lovely bed and crisp white linen and I liked the large armchair in the room. A very comfortable night's sleep. Excellent cod lunch too- exceptional. A wide variety of breakfasts choice too.

The charge for parking even as a hotel resident. I appreciate that townsfolk might abuse the nearby location of the car park, yet hotel residents should perhaps not have to bear the brunt of any additional charge here.

The hotel is beautiful in the Tudor style with the original beams inside and the dark oak wood on staircases. Lovely. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable . We booked for a breakfast which was very nice. The location was walking distance to the town, less than 5 minutes walk to the shops and market and only a stones throw to the river which has a beautiful park along side.

Just a warning reference the car park.. I had a parking ticket fine even though I paid the hotel, this spoiled my trip! (Although this was an error in the system)

The hotel was lovely, location perfect Could have been cleaner and needs a bit of renovation in the room (sink was damaged/chipped paint, bath plug not working, window not closing properly), beds were comfy but pillows were quite flat (need new ones), bit dark in the room and one bedside lamp wasn't working. Service was great, staff friendly and cheerful- on reception and in restaurant. The older man at breakfast was very funny! The steps up to 1st floor seem to need some work done, I think one of the steps are broken Pool area was well kept and clean, quite a walk from our room but we weren't staying for a spa break so was acceptable. Overall was lovely and would stay again

The beds were very comfortable and the room quiet. The bar had a good range of meals and light snacks. It's a beautiful building and the location is very peaceful yet only a 10 minute walk from Stratford centre. Staff were helpful. Pool, sauna and steam room were a great addition to our stay. A very relaxing atmosphere throughout the hotel.

Refreshment provision could be easier.There is still and sparkling water on tap at water fountains around building, which is great, but you have to go and find it, and the jug in our room was not clean. There were only a few milk cartons in the room. Hotel provides fresh milk - again great, but you have to get it from reception, the jugs they give you are small and dribble - not the most convenient way to make a cup of tea. Bath very narrow with shower over.

Perfect location for visiting Stratford-upon-Avon, we visit the area couple of times a year and stay in and around it, this was our first stay at the Alveston Manor, hotel is located just on the edge of town, walking distance to the all the amenities and points of interest.

Check-in time was chaotic, we arrived apx an hour earlier and was abruptly advised it wasn't 3pm yet. When we returned at 3pm, we were queuing out of the door onto the car park in the rain to be able to check-in, which we have never experienced at this standard of hotel in other locations. A better process needs to be implemented as it was not a great way to start our trip. Based on this we likely wouldn't return, additionally we've experienced better customer service at budget brand hotels, the staff we encountered at Alveston weren't very sociable or interested in conversation.

Staff were excellent, the room was clean and comfortable, the spa facility was clean and the staff were charming and they were the best massages we have ever had

Breakfast was very poor. The 'hot' breakfast was cold, the bacon and the potato pancakes were so tough they could not be cut with a knife, the 'continental' breakfast option was very disappointing, packet ham, processed cheese and no choice of pastries, very little fruit and only two choices of fruit juice. The tea and coffee were cold when they finally arrived at the table. £18 was, in my opinion, excessive for the very poor breakfast on offer.

Great Hotel, the room came with a living room as well...it could do with a refurbishment and the four poster was very squeaky.. I was very old room in the original Manor so the floors leaned with I love, although the lean in the bathroom floor and slippery floor tile are something they need to look at asap... if my partner had not caught me coming out of the shower then we would have been talking head injury as o would have smashed my head against the sink or the side of the bath.. we would definitely book again though, great staff location and value...

Slippery dangerous bathroom floors... it's an easy fix and it may save them from being Sued in the future..

We had a lovely stay for our minimoon and were able to get an upgrade to a 4 poster with hotel's upgrade system- they send you a message a few days before and you can request an upgrade then find if you've got it on the day you arrive. Our bed was really comfortable! A very interesting old building and the bar and lounge were relaxing areas. Good food the one night we had dinner and a good choice of breakfast. The staff were all also very friendly and helpful. The place needs a little tlc in a few places (carpets) but it has 150 and is an old building so this adds to the character.
