Enchanting! Everything was beyond my expectation. The room was comfortable and clean. (Complete with personalized welcome note and brownies!) The location was perfect, just around the corner from the town center and Shakespeare’s birthplace. Also a 5 minute walk to the theatre and safe to walk home to after the show. The menu was exquisite and very well presented. The staff were kind and cheery with helpful and sincere advice to all my enquiries. Sitting in front of the fire to read before bed was a dream come true for me. And oh, the coffee is to die for! I’m already booking for my next visit! Thank you for very memorable stay.

Great central location, walking distance to Shakespeare's house and birthplace, and the town. Lovely character building tastefully decorated. Small double room but all functional and lovely bathroom with great shower. We were there in March so people weren't drinking outside but may be noisier in the summer. Staff really friendly and helpful. Overall a positive and enjoyable stay.

Wholesome breakfast but we did find the bacon and sausage hard and too salty, and the kipper breakfast next day was too salty to eat. We didn't complain, but hotel may wish to have a look at this.

Reception team were so friendly and helpful. Room was excellent. Clean and well decorated. Comfy bed and roll top bath. Lovely seating and very old world. Perfect for walking around Stratford.

I wouldnt say didnt like, hotel room was a bit too hot. Had a meal and starters didn'tt show up, asked for water a few times. Seemed distracted, were very pleasant. Given menus and only when ordering told we don't have that....hapoened to several others. Just let people know things are gone before! Might be worth checking behind bedside tables as a bit dusty. Would we stay again, absolutely. Minor things that were no big deal.

The staff (without exception) were friendly and helpful; from check-in to check-out The hotel itself has character, and was clean throughout. Lovely shower, comfortable bed Fresh milk in the fridge was a nice touch Location was great; about ten minutes' walk to the river

The room was slightly too small for the bed: there was only space for one bed-side table / lamp. Although there was a Nespresso machine and a kettle, only the coffee machine had a plug - the kettle had to be taken elsewhere, and there were only single tea bags (i.e. 1 x Breakfast blend, 1 x decaff) Bathroom extract fan didn't work

Room was excellent, Staff at reception, breakfast, bar staff were all very professional & friendly..

I was personally disappointed with the breakfast, service was impeccable but food wasn't very good, Bacon small, over cooked & tasteless, Sausage tasteless, I wouldn't choose to eat breakfast there next time I would go next door to the Cafe. Also during breakfast, we sat at the front window, outside the front of the building, there was a collection of Drunks, now I have a sense of humour but i mentioned to the staff are they here regular, which they are it appears, when I looked outside one of the gang said "What are them C%NTS looking at" now luckily I was with my Mrs, if I'd have been on a Jolly boys outing, I / we would have gone out sorted them..!!

Really good value stay with excellent accommodation and facilities. One minor problem was promptly dealt with. Very good choice at breakfast and delivered to the table efficiently and pleasantly, especially on our second morning. Kippers were a treat! Others' choices were enjoyed. Public spaces were relaxed and oozing with character, really great spaces to spend time in.

Our only issue was with the temperature in the room (the corridors were toasty!) It was a common problem for guests as we heard quite a few similar conversations being had at Reception. You really do need to help your guests more. Tell them about the controls/the 25 deg cutout/the 'master' controls which Reception can use to reset the system. Tell them, as well, about the switch on the bathroom heated towel rail. Once we knew all that, we too were toasty! Ooh, something else. Important! The kettle was a bit of a health hazard as the cable had to be stretched to the socket or squeezed onto the bedside table. Also, t he bathroom wall lights flopped about (if you fiddled with them) in and out of their mountings. We stopped fiddling.

Outstanding overall cosy accommodation in a beaut location. Ensuite was modern & a quite exceptional rain head shower. Heated towel rail was super efficient. Breakfast (incl in price) had multiple hearty choices with attentive service. Front desk Girls couldn't have been more helpful & the complimentary 'Counter Shortbread Treats" were delicious with a cuppa in our room for supper !!! Of course the historical factor (originally built pre 1500's !!) attracted us intially & we were so impressed with how it all looked now.

Lighting was somewhat dim in our room (124) & a simple desk lamp would be so helpful - difficult to use a laptop. Also best to drop ones luggage off close to either front or rear entrances then sort out a carpark. We used the GBP7 per 24hrs off Greenhill St with success.

We used the multi storey car park very close to the Hotel which was perfect, and very easy to use. Though no working lifts in this car park ! The hotel staff in reception were very helpful as were the dining room staff. Breakfast was perfect, and we had dinner on one of the nights we were staying...........again very good meal ! Our large room was very comfortable, and clean. Location of the hotel was central for virtually everything. A fantastic hotel very old with many beams on display. The Everyman Cinema in Stratford is worth a visit as are the tours at the RSC.

Excellent breakfast + most attentive + joyful service. The warmth of the welcome when stepped into Reception. The kindness of being able to have plant milk even though I forgot to include it on my initial requests. The

I wasn’t able to adjust the temperature of the air con in my room + though your Receptionist did adjust it for me, I would have actually switched it off because of the intermittent whirring, but I was unable to. In the notes provided in the bedroom it clearly says you can adjust the controls in the room. It didn’t spoil my experience but would have made it a little quieter.

I used to stay here all the time – I often come to Stratford – until the refurbishment in 2012 when the prices pretty much doubled. However, on this occasion the price was really competitive and it was lovely to be back. I like the location, the old building is wonderful, the staff are professional and courteous, the place is spotlessly clean. The breakfast was nice.

A one-night stay generated 12 emails. Too many businesses do this and I end up having to delete dozens of emails a day. We couldn't get the coffee machine in the room to work. It was one of those contraptions that use little environment-busting capsules; there was a kettle and teabags but no other means to make a coffee. In one of the endless emails, perhaps they could suggest guests bring their own coffee?
