Historic building in the heart of Stratford. Decor nice enough but the bathroom smelled a bit iffy and the air conditioning was unusually loud. Staff were friendly but need better training.

The staff talked loudly to each other as if the guests weren’t there - this happened throughout our stay in several locations and times. Also they were too casual in their manner for the setting - “hiya” as my 86yr old mother walked into reception: really?? “Good morning” would have been a bit more appropriate. I suggest a re-set of the culture to polish the vibe a bit! The fire alarms went off at 4.30am - apparently someone smoking downstairs in the dining room after hours. Sounds like it may have been a staff member! ? No proper apology at breakfast.

Perfect location, excellent service, spotless rooms with everything you need, and an outstanding breakfast.

This is our favorite place to stay in Stratford-upon-Avon!!! (We've stayed in almost every other hotel....) its gorgeous, atmospheric, 600 yrs old but with the latest amenities and outstanding facilities! The restaurant and breakfast are excellent!!! It was our 3rd time there and we will be back! I cannot express enough how wonderful this hotel is! Its just the thoughtful touches -- electrical outlets by the bed, terrific lighting, nice bathroom all in a historical hotel with kind and helpful staff!!!!

Enchanting! Everything was beyond my expectation. The room was comfortable and clean. (Complete with personalized welcome note and brownies!) The location was perfect, just around the corner from the town center and Shakespeare’s birthplace. Also a 5 minute walk to the theatre and safe to walk home to after the show. The menu was exquisite and very well presented. The staff were kind and cheery with helpful and sincere advice to all my enquiries. Sitting in front of the fire to read before bed was a dream come true for me. And oh, the coffee is to die for! I’m already booking for my next visit! Thank you for very memorable stay.

The White Swan Stratford on Avon is "incredible". Everything of The White Swan is beautiful and top quality. The managers have looked at every possible detail to adapt a 1560s building "more than perfectly" to 2025. Spotless. Cosy. Fully of interesting literally tip-bits for interest. The breakfast is included in the room price. It's individually cooked with quality and care. Eating areas spread through the original 16th century rooms so that it's spacious and un-usual. This is the best breakfast of many I have eaten in hotels. Including the best tasty sausages. Scrambled egg mmmmm. Our bed was comfort perfection. Extremely well-located, with an excellent staff and breakfast, and enormous attention to detail (from the scents and Shakespeare quotes on the room doors to the anti-slip mats and farewell biscuits). It is immersive, clean, and comfortable. All for a very fair price. They even offer to bring breakfast (with its many many options) to your bed. I'm certainly coming back whenever I visit Stratford-upon-Avon again.

We had to move onwards to another city. More seriously, I can't think of anything significant to complain about; it can get slightly chilly at night, but nothing that the bed covers provided can't handle.

All went well, no complaints, nice staff and place to stay. A little bit disappointed we weren't considered for an upgraded room by your reception staff etc. as we have received this in a lot of nice hotels we have stayed at in the past, especially as they had phoned me at home about our up and coming stay(read many reviews of guests being upgraded) and would have been the icing on the cake so to speak, especially as it was special occasion as the room was a little smaller than on picture shown for the money, but room itself was nice with cosy bed which was very comfortable.Location was ideal, and 15% voucher off food was nice to have received. Like to mention your cleaner who was very helpful to us.

A second more than perfect stay in this 400 year old hotel (converted from a public house). Firstly I am disabled, I use a stroller, and the White Swan chose a disabled access room for me without discussion ... no extra charge ... and it was the best facilities and decor for a disabled access room I have ever had. We used the daytime restaurant for the first time. The Menu offered lots of substantial choices - how does such a small hotel offer so much - each item of such quality. Breakfast and staff helpfulness - top quality as ever. Thank you very much best wishes David and Susan

Wonderful breakfast served by friendly and prompt staff. Room was comfortable, lacking only a second chair (funny how so many hotels provide just one chair in double/twin rooms!). Air conditioning in the room is discrete and effective (but see below). Stratford central location means no car spaces of its own but public facilities are close by and affordable.

Being on the top floor appears to place you in range of plant mounted on the roof whose vibration and sounds tend to disturb getting to sleep. After two nights one seems to become less conscious of the annoyance.

The hotel section of the White Swan is much bigger than you might expect. It's well back from the road, quiet, and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, quiet, and quirky. Big walk-in shower was a bonus. Advice on parking was much appreciated and saved us a lot of money!

When you drive past the white Swan, you might think it's a just pub with lots of drinkers outside. There's a big contrast between the outside and the quiet inside...at least on a sunny summer afternoon. Probably not an issue in rainy November.
