Very clean hotel with lovely fresh pleasant smells on arrival. Rooms have a lovely decor, very clean and bathroom facilities are good. Breakfast buffet is very good too with a good selection offered. Drinks are a little expensive at the bar but it’s a Hilton hotel so it’s expected. Plenty of car parking space available at a cost. The hotel grounds are very pleasant and peaceful, with lovely bird song. The town centre is several minutes away from the hotel by foot and a pleasant walk. If you don’t want to go right into town for dinner then there are restaurants a stone throw away depending on what you like to eat.

Not sure what the rest of the rooms are like. Room 318 was lovely in decor and very clean but the noise from the vents and thin walls were the only two things that made our stay uncomfortable. This hotel would have got a perfect ten if the noise wasn’t there. I would give this hotel another chance in the hope we get a quieter room next time. I absolutely could not fault anything else about this property otherwise. It’s worth a visit.

The room exceeded my expectations; it was spacious and intelligently furnished. The windows overlooked a grassed and wooded area. We were able to arrive very late without penalty. Parking was a bonus. There was space outsidefor exercising a dog. I was able to organise a flower bouquet to be in the room before we travelled.

We arrived in the early hours and the night porter made no effort to assist with luggage. Lazy old toad. Pension him off! There was a convention taking place which meant crowds acculumulated chatting around the main exit. Hardly the fault of the hotel but it made walking a dog through crowds tricky.

2 night break, good choice of cereals, bread, pastries (don't eat cooked breakfast, no honey, jam only strawberry flavour, no hazelnuts morning two), staff friendly and helpful, clean tables, coffee machine decaf - 7 choices (excellent), only like decaf black Americano, not seen such a machine elsewhere. Ideal location to walk to the river and around about, plus all the lovely restaurants (Hilton restaurant not open on Saturday night). I had a walking stick as full hip replacement due on 16 July so good location as not too far away from everything.

I can't say I disliked anything.

I'm giving you good rating because Your staff upon arrival were pro-active to fix the incorrect booking I'd made and where /what location we were assured when booking. My wife is handicap and you responded once realizing someone put her at far reaches of the hotel not near elevator or check-in / breakfast area and gave us a double bed vs either a King or two twins. Once I complained "saying this is not the room or location I was promised the staff checking us in responded and corrected the problem giving us a King just off the elevator and We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel from then on. We were pleased in the end and if staff wasn't professional we would have reviewed differently. thanks DVS

Initial room location for a disabled wife

The hotel was very clean and the room spacious and modern. The staff on the reception and bar were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent in a very nice restaurant.

We received a telephone call whilst on route to the hotel saying there wasn't a room for us and we were being relocated to a hotel outside of Stratford. This wasn't acceptable and demanded a room where we had booked which eventually they agreed to do. The booking was made at the beginning of the year and at no time had we been told there was a problem with our booking. We even confirmed our arrival time with the hotel the day before and the reply confirmed the reservation was all in order.

The room had a sense of space, and we liked the sitting area with the small table. There was ample storage, and the bed was very comfortable - nice and firm - and it was a king size bed, so plenty of space on offer. The bathroom was very clean and well-appointed.

I would have liked breakfast to be included, for the price. We decided not to have breakfast since there was a significant additional charge. The room was cold. The walls were thin and we could hear other guests on both sides of us - one guest rose very early in the morning, at around 5.30, and we could hear their TV through the wall. This was quite disturbing.

A very good breakfast but the first morning of our three we were told that we couldn’t take our assistance dog into the restaurant and had to sit outside so I was very disappointed with that. The staff could have been more helpful especially as the hotel wasn’t busy at all just before Christmas. As the weather wasn’t good we had our evening meal in the hotel but had to sit in the bar as the restaurant didn’t open at all. We thought it was expensive for what we choose.

Staff should have been more friendly and helpful seeing as though they weren’t very busy. I have worked in Customer Service all my life and always went out of my way to make sure that I gave 100% service always.

I have to complain about the chairs in the dining room and bar and lounge area. Seeing that many of the guests the hotel attracts are older and so many Senior citizens the chairs are so low that when older we cannot get out of them easily. the height of the dining table when sitting on the chairs could be lower or the chairs higher in order to eat comfortably. In the bar area there were only 2 chairs with arms and high backs all the other were low down.

The day I checked into the hotel, the systems were down - leaving staff with no way to know who was allocated to rooms or even which were occupied. The staff managed the situation really well, keeping calm, kind and apologetic for the technical issues. Whilst waiting for IT, they solved the issue by going old school with paper lists. When I was allocated a room, it was clean compatible and accessible, there was carparking on sight as well as a bar and restaurant. The hotel is a two minute walk to the top of town, with lots of local amenities and restaurants.

Room was very nice. - a great size with a good size table and chairs; bathroom clean and well lit. Huge selection of breakfast. Bed very comfortable. The room seemed very ‘solid’ and absorbed sound very well providing guest with a peaceful environment.

Having stayed at this hotel some years ago, it has not been updated in terms of decor. It is not unpleasant but brown wood is now a bit ‘passé’. Our room was on the ground floor and was quite dark, however this could have been improved with the use of brighter lighting.
