It felt like a dream where you travel back in time. The buildings were incredibly beautiful, but the bathroom and beds was pure modern luxury fitting with the old style of the interior. Perfect! The food was high standard and very delicious. There was lots of drinks included with the room to enjoy. We felt spoiled! And the service was amazing so sweet and careful. We will miss this place until we get back! The location is so silent it is a good place to relax but at the same time so full of history its a wonder to walk around.

The only thing we could have wanted was for a room on the first floor like we had seen on the photos, but we did not think about requesting that, so next time we will ask.

Overall exceptional experience of stay / living in traditional Japanese merchant house in town location.

Staircase was steep and brutal. Unaware only bedroom was located upstairs and separated from rest of other amenities located downstairs. Had to climb up and down several times during the night that interrupted and disrupted night's sleep pattern and rest. Located in a quiet area - limited options nearby for dinner at night.

The rooms are spot on gorgeous. They felt like homes you could fully live in. Then when you step outside your room it feels as though you've been brought back in time. Was a wonderful experience and would highly recommend, especially if you are traveling with another or your family.

It’s beautiful and preserves the old buildings so that’s amazing. The food was very good as well and the staff were very nice and patient with me since I don’t know Japanese

Unclear if we could walk around the buildings like the front desk building ( former Morikawa residence)

Beautiful location with unique rooms, our room (villa) was comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast and dinner which I recommend ordering was superb. Helpful staff who arranged luggage transfer for us.

We loved how calming and relaxing it is. The views from the room are amazing.
