Due to a booking mix up, my room was upgraded for free to a twin room (queen/single) in the front wing with a private balcony and view across the valley to Mt Panorama. The rooms are well off the road and quiet. My room was well appointed with reverse cycle aircon that I put through it's paces on the sub-zero winter night, kitchenette with full sink, crockery, cutlery and all the tea & coffee stuff, a surprisingly large bathroom with generously sized shower cabinet and blessedly hot water (thank you so much) coming from the excellent shower head. Very comfortable bed, Power outlets at the bedside, bedside lamps with built-in reading lamps too if you're a mushroom like me preferring a low light option, tables and chairs inside and outside. Free continental breakfast fixings in the breakfast room. The exteriors are dated but my room had been tastefully refurbished and might well be the equal best room l've ever stayed in. What's not to like?

The driveway up to the motel is potholey so gives a less good impression.

The staff were very pleasant and happy and helpful. The bathroom was recently completely new and shower was really great. It was really super clean. Bed wonderfully comfy. It’s the first time I’ve found wall electrical sockets in easy location and plenty of them for charging your phone/ laptop etc. The location of the generous sized TV on the wall was easy to lay in bed and watch. We stayed during cold weather but our room was a good temp without needing any aircon. I think staff are really trying hard to make it a comfy stay. We will definitely be back. Generous breakfast. The breakfast room was clean and had a great view. Great to be able to park our truck there to stay overnight. We knew about the long distance to town so we made arrangements to go out to dinner and be picked up. If you don’t want to pay for taxi or Uber into town and don’t want to drive then get some takeaway and eat in your room. We went to the George Hotel for dinner which was amazing. Everything is here at Gold Panner and in good condition if you have an executive queen room. There was a queen bed and a single. Spacious and had a little kitchenette with microwave. We were able to refreeze a couple of ice bricks in the freezer overnight for our esky( I wish I had taken photos to prove how nice our room and bathroom was- I forgot I only took photos of the breakfast dining room) Our stay was great. We will stay again. I think the negative reviews are all from the back rooms that have not had renovation. Our stay was great and I found the manager to be exceptionally friendly and helpful.

I wish the people well who own this property. I hope they can renovate the rest of the rooms to stop the negative reviews they have had. They don’t deserve all the negative reviews. Our stay was great and very comfortable. It looks like they have two levels of accommodation and this is what is causing the disparity in experience. If I’d read the reviews I’d not have stayed and that would have been a shame. I’m glad we stayed.

The motel employee said the previous occupants took the key with them and she couldn’t find a spare and asked whether we needed a key. I said yes as we were going out that night. She came back with a key and lucky I checked the key prior to us going out as the key did not work. We would not have been able to get back into our room. We had to put our belongings in the car and leave the room unlocked. I was also worried during the night that the previous occupant may return as they had the key still. When we told her the next morning, she just said Ok. No apology.

We were upgraded from an "Executive Queen" Room to a King Room, which was probably not much different but a nice thought. The room was very clean and felt freshly renovated, everything was functional. The bed was comfortable to sleep in although I had back pain the next day(s) so possibly too soft. The breakfast was fairly basic DIY but for free it was fine. Location was quiet, considering proximity to main road.

Minor things: the driveway is very damaged and bumpy. The man at reception warned us off the restaurant we were planning to go to (which had great reviews online) and towards another one in Bathurst (which had bad reviews) so we ate somewhere else.

Excellent stay! I work in the Motel industry and this little place is a stand out. Extremely welcoming and inviting, modern and spotless. Continental Breakfast was included in the price of the room. Numerous selections, I was in heaven Lol. I have never been as happy with a Motel Accommodation before. Super Value for money 💰! Where can you get a room these days with Breakfast included for $130?

There was nothing! It was freezing, but that's part of Winter in Bathurst. The room was cosy warm and inviting.

2nd time we have stayed here. 1st time was in the front block of units. They from memory were much newer with a much better bathroom. The beds were great and given it was cold the air con did its job. The continetal brekky was also good.

The property lacks sadly in TLC. All the pot holes in the road in were still there 1 year on from last visit. This time the room was clearly dated. It had a large hole in a wall and little things like the entry door itself was filthy and in need of paint.

We have stayed there before, so it was our first choice particularly taking in price and the included Continental breakfast. Interior of unit tastefully modernised. Excellent parking. The bed sheets were good being a cotton/synthetic blend. Comfortable pillows

I was in a stressed state over impending knee replacement, so I did not sleep well and I could hear the trucks engine brakes but a “normal” sleeper would not notice. Besides the trucks, it is deadly quiet. The pot holed driveway and the flaking paint on the pergola need attention. The bed cover was a bit too synthetic.

Good size room, clean, comfortable bed, good bathroom, nice verandah, good airconditioning - it was warm and cosy. Breakfast was okay, a lot of various cereals and milks, but maybe some extras like cheese and some fresh fruit would be nice. Despite next to a busy road, it was not too noisy. We did get a good nights sleep.

Entering the room I saw the little dining table having marks and spots and thought it was dirty. However, the table was clean, the spots were possible paint marks or other stains that were not removeable. I suggest to change the tabletop or put a tablecloth on it. This, did not change our opinion about the cleanliness of the room, because everything else was spotless.

The room seemed newly renovated. Great bathroom large and clean with a fantastic shower. A balcony with views to Mount Panorama. The continental breakfast had a good spread.

Bathurst must be having a seasonal insect issue when we stayed - (November) - bugs were everywhere - even in town. They did have bug spray in the room which helped. The driveway needs to be fixed up and the colours of the motel could do with some sprucing up - but everything was a nice surprise after we entered our room.

Spacious room, great amenities. I particularly liked the double bedside lighting. The breakfast was included in the price which was a huge bonus. Big TV . This place was a wonderful find. My only tiny issue was no heating in the bathroom which would have been the icing on the cake in winter. Bonus balcony with table and chairs and a nice country view.

Apart from no heating in the bathroom everything was perfect.
