The staff were amazing. Everyone that served us, from greeting to showing us to the room, to drinks to the evening. Really exceptional - that really stood out. The room was clean and nicely decorated - the bathroom was honestly gorgeous. The room itself was very nice. Drinks were reasonable price, atmosphere of the pub was very nice. We had lovely drinks and felt very welcome - really noticeably great staff.

For us, there were a few things. The mattress was really not comfy. Dipped either side with a lump down the middle. The bathroom door is a slide door and doesn't quite close properly, but some people might not mind that. Also, I'd wished there was a shelf in the shower for my products. Mainly it wasnt the room that let us down it was the meal which neither of us enjoyed, although the service was great, the food was trying too hard to be fancy but it fell flat, there was a lot wrong with it but it was edible and it was my birthday so we just got on with it and got to the drinks!

We stayed in a King room and the room was a decent size with a nice large bed. The linen room and bathroom were very clean. The was small and well designed to maximise the room space and offered high quality products. We were warmly welcomed by the host and the other staff we encountered were friendly. Fresh milk for drinks and courtesy sweets in the room were very welcomed.

The bed would benefit from a better mattress topper. The hairdryer in the room didn't work. When I reported it to reception/bar I was told they'd ask reception to bring another one, but by then I had to leave. A limited supply of tea and coffee in the room. Lack of a physical manual. NB: I am fussy, this should be on your radar for stays and eating out!

Great stop over on my way to Cornwall, although situated on a busy road I had a room at the back so lovely and quiet. I didn’t eat in the pub but looked welcoming with a good menu You can also check in and checkout online a a big plus

I didn’t realise my stay included breakfast would have been nice if I’d been told this when I checked in with information on breakfast times. I had a drink in the bar early on the Sunday evening the very young barman was very chatty and charming to the young girls he was serving before me. But when he served me he could hardly crack a smile I’m aware to him I was ancient but that really shouldn’t matter.

Right from the moment we arrived we were made to feel most welcome. The place was warm and cosy with open fires and a lovely atmosphere. The room was well furnished with everything we needed. The bed was possibly the most comfortable we have ever slept in on our many short trips in the UK. The evening meal was lovely, the fish stew to be recommended. Breakfast was superb ! The same young man who served the evening meal was still working in the breakfast room, still as accommodating and cheerful as the evening before, a true professional in hospitality. We will certainly return the next time we need to visit the Bath and West showground.

Traditional English pub , nicely renovated . Room was upstairs in an outbuilding just across the courtyard. The staff were excellent, bar staff , dinner was great and breakfast and lady that served us were gear . It’s totally dog friendly which was why we picked it . A few minutes from Glastonbury Tor.

Room was small , bathroom was pretty cramped . Probably would be annoying for a long stay but for our one nighter it was fine . Complicated online check in that saves a pass on your iPhone, that we were asked for .

Location very close to Glastonbury. The restaurant inside by the bar and open fire, good menu and good food, staff friendly. All wines were availble as glass, some nice ones too. Room good size and comfy bed, loads of pillows, ensuite bathroom. Bowl in room for our little doggo too. Good Breakfast hot and cold. Great checkin and check out system, make sure you get on it, very easy and takes out check in / out hassle.

Bedroom was tired, but clean and a good size, same with bathroom. TV reception was poor. Spicy Margarita really needs some work, or the person making it needs to know, how to make a good margarita, then whats needed to added a hint of warmth. it did ruin an otherwise good meal - no one likes to complain - it was undrinkable.

we've stayed here before and will stay again , it's a good location for our yearly shop in clarks village. The fireplace and general vibe is very relaxed but also feels like we are treating ourselves as it feels we are having a touch of luxury. We look forward to coming back time and time again. We both enjoyed our main meals and breakfast the next day. The staff are attentive and would support if we needed anything, but they also take a step and allow us to enjoy our time there.

The food is a little pricey for what you get, in future I do not think we will be having a dessert,.it just didn't reflect the price. Also not a huge deal but my cooked breakfast appeared to be missing an egg, or at least I was expecting an egg in a cooked breakfast.

We were 7 for lunch and 2 arrived very late, having broken down. The staff were unfailingly accommodating and charming about having to serve us so late. Nice comfortable atmosphere with well used sofas in seating areas; nothing pretentious, but homely and striking just the right note.

I didn't like the online checking in and out. Having to be sent a pass code is a ridiculously unnecessary piece of bureaucracy. The TV in our room didn't work, but when we reported it the next morning we were told that it would be tuned.

We arrived at The Lion after I had completed a 3 week charity walking challenge and I finished this with a walk up Glastonbury Tor. Exhausted, we were shown to our room Number 9. We had the best night sleep in the comfiest bed and beautiful room. The bathroom/wet room was gorgeous with beautiful products. Just what was needed. The owner had thought about everything including a mini fridge and a little outside area if you wanted it. Next time we will book in for an evening meal.

Nothing not to dislike.

Very comfortable room and friendly staff. Food in the pub is pricey, but well worth it, it is gorgeous. Nice little touches such as premium coffee and tea selections and a very nice collection of bath and body items to use in the spacious and lovely bathrooms. The bed was super comfy. Really enjoyed my stay.

No internet/wifi on the last couple of days, but no fault of the owners I'm sure. 4g reception not great in the room or pub, so a bit of difficulty planning, but nothing I couldn't get around. Also, I had asked a member of staff if I could get a refund for one of the breakfasts, as I didn't eat there one of the mornings. I prepaid for 3, forgetting that one of the days I wouldn't be eating there. I did ask one of the staff twice to get a refund for it, but haven't heard anything back from them yet.
