The Car Park - the flooring is extremely uneven and rocky with steep slope so don’t take any nice cars. Also it is not reserved so often found no space to park on return from day out. Pls tarmac this! Food - good offering but we felt the variety could have been better particularly vegetarian options over dinner Room Temperature - way too warm. Would ask management to put some ceiling fans in!

This hotel is in a very lovely location with easy access to the coast path and the local beaches. The room was nicely set out and comfortable.

Car parking is a bit of a nightmare with no guaranteed spaces for hotel residents. It's a very busy pub on a nice evening and I suspect coast path users also nab spaces. We had to park up the narrow approach road a couple of times, fortunately not when checking in/out. We wanted to use the EV charger too but, inevitably in a busy car park, there was usually a non-EV parked in front. The food is pleasant but unexciting and on the pricey side for what it is, you're paying for the setting.

Could not fault location of staff, all super friendly and knowledgeable. Room was spacious and really well designed and interesting decor - not a cobweb in site. Shower power was very good and toiletries really nice smelling with huge towels. We had Room 3 which meant we were above what we believe to be the kitchen fan, and with the very warm weather meant that there was considerable noise from this - intermittent over night though. At the back of hotel so on the whole it was quiet. We ate here for dinner, breakfast and a light late lunch - so a bit from most parts of the menu. All very good with generous portions. However, someone should give the breakfast chef a small lesson in poached eggs - two minutes is enough - ours were resembled golf balls! Lots of drink choices and despite the huge number of covers for once this venue really does have enough staff so we never had to wait a long time for food. The bar is really well stocked, lots of interesting beers, and summer drinks to offer. They have two - albeit - slow electric car chargers but on most occasions there were non electric cars parked blocking them. One was on one or other of the chargers for most of the weekend. But the staff were very helpful in identifying the owner and moving the cars for us. 5* for helpfulness and we will return. FYI think this main photo must have been taken after a storm, it looked amazing when we arrived. Loads of seating outside both under canvas and outside. Its obviously popular and for a good reason

Lovely location, very nice pub. Food was good but nothing special, typical chain pub food. Great staff.

When busy struggled to keep up partly as people turn up all at once. Parking was poor, awful car park and although private for the pub, used by everyone so you may well not find a spot if you are staying over which will be a problem. Rooms were compact and a step in the middle of the bathroom!! OK for us but if you're dodgy on you feet, I'd recommend checking with the pub which rooms would be more suitable for you prior to booking. Finally, serving marg instead of butter!!! Stop that immediately.

Tastefully, and recently decorated rooms and bathrooms. Really fantastic breakfast- pastries, granola, juices and a choice of delicious cooked options. Good choice of (posh ££) pub grub for dinner. Super friendly and helpful staff, particularly at breakfast. Great location on the coast path. Beautifully sun-drenched terrace on a spring/ summers evening.

Couldn't tell the difference between comfy and comfy plus- probably not worth the extra cost to upgrade, they were both great rooms. Access to the local beach was easy for us to climb down to, but would be harder for people with mobility issues- though you'd still get the sea view from the top of the (small) hill.

Incredible location - very iconic. Friendly staff (although some are much busier than others!). The most generous quality teas and coffees in the room, plus water and biscuits. Really impressed us. Great pastries at breakfast too! Bit of a random comment, but hotel corridors are normally so depressing, but theirs was lovely! Nice decor in the room, and it felt clean. Okay food and drink for dinner, although a little pricey for the portion perhaps.

It was very hot in our room. A staff member kindly got us a fan, but I'd recommend they look into cooling (at least in that room)! Maybe even a mini fridge to cool our water would have helped. ( In hindsight, I realised too late that the towel rail was on very hot, too).

What a great location! We stopped here on the first night of our Road Trip and it was one of the highlights of the trip. The location is outstanding and great for people who love hiking. We ate in the restaurant and the food was really good. My kids enjoyed everything about the place. After I left I realised I had left my wedding ring in the room and was already in Devon at this point. They kindly arranged to post it to my home address asap and didn't even want me to pay for postage. Fantastic stay and very nice staff. Beds super comfy

Perfect location, close to all the major beaches and sights. There was plenty of space to sit and enjoy a drink or meal outside with my dog. Inside was roomy and airy even on a hot day. Food was brilliant and the staff were all polite and helpful. My room was gorgeous, all the little coastal decorative touches were appreciated! Thank you for being very dog friendly!

Car park was up a steep hill so had to make a few trips with bags. No big deal though. Someone did offer to help as well

Amazing location just by the sea. Exemplary breakfast. Super-friendly staff. Cosy rooms. Room 4 is fantastic - quiet, warm, cosy.

We loved our stay. Please understand that these are only minor niggles. We would happily stay again and recommend it to anyone. Room 3 could do with better sound proofing. A carpet like the one in room 4 would go a long way. The floor boards in room 3 are very loud. The staff kitchen is also through the wall and we were woken by a member of staff loudly calling home for over 30 minutes on a speakerphone at 7am. The only other niggle was that the kitchen had a tendency to run out of a fair few items in the menu each evening occasionally resulting in very few choices for the veggies in our group.

Great location if walking the coast path and very friendly, helpful staff

Our room got very hot( weather very hot when there) and the extractors for the kitchen below were right outside our window this meant it was very noisy if the window was open in the evening and didn't help cool the room as the extractors were blowing hot air. Also although a free car park this was full if returned during the day or early evening.
