We stayed in the Portland room ,and although overlooking the road it was not overly noisy with the double glazing closed .The room was very well equipped, with a washing machine, fridge, microwave,,crockery, cutlery, etc.and was spotlessly clean Bed very comfy ,there were slippers ,dressing gowns, and toiletries.and a large wall mounted tv Breakfast was good and served in the pub restaurant, staff were very pleasant . A couple or so minutes drive to the start of the long promenade by the Oasis Cafe We will not hesitate to return next time we are in the area
The room was dog friendly, and there were bowls etc for a pet ,but a faint dog smell ,noticeable initially This was a vey minor niggle

The bar and the breakfast
It's just too noisy as the room is just next to the street even at mid night there's still some traffic. I just realised the purpose of the earplugs in the next morning. A suggestion to change the windows to double glazing.

Great value and accessible location, plenty of on-site parking, very friendly and accommodating staff, very comfortable bed and pillows, great breakfast, and unreasonably delicious cold tap water. Very good modern GPOs with both USB type C and type B ports each side of the bed. Free biscuits along with coffee/tea/hot chocolate.
No lifts, might be a problem depending on how much luggage you have but I'm sure the staff will be happy to help. No in-room mini fridge. No air conditioning (being on a major road means we need to close the windows tight at night to minimize noise) and could get stuffy.

This hotel is a good choice for a one-night stay. The room was small but clean enough and comfortable, and the bathroom was relatively compact. The main downside was the TV placement; it was mounted low on the wall, which caused me to bump my head a few times. The location is convenient, although there was some noise from music and traffic in the evening. Luckily, earplugs were provided, showing the staff's attention to guest comfort. The breakfast was also lovely, which added to the overall positive experience. A big plus is the free on-site parking.
The shower cabin is the smallest I’ve ever seen. It is not a big problem; it is just a fact. One issue was the placement of the TV; it was mounted too low and in the wrong spot, causing me to bump my head several times.

The room was very clean and comfortable with everything you need for an overnight stay. Parking on site was a bonus. Food in the bar in the evening was very good.
Our room was facing a busy main road so traffic noise was heard throughout the night and early morning. The full English breakfast was nice and hot. Having to help yourself to tea and coffee was a little disappointing as the tea was in a pot and was unfortunately cold. No fruit juice available which is not ideal for someone who doesn’t drink hot beverages. However, a glass of milk was provided for my Son when I asked for one.

The pub is lovely. We enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant and the choice of beers etc in the bar. We liked the idea of having a restaurant menu in the bedroom. Breakfast comprises a buffet choice of cereals, and bread, together with filter coffee and tea available. A toaster is provided for your use. A cooked breakfast menu is on your table and orders are taken at your table. The bedroom was very comfortable, tastefully furnished with some nice touches. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities are provided. The bathroom was very pleasant with a good size shower cubicle with toiletries provided. The inn's hosts were charming and very chatty.
We were very happy with everything.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. We arrived as food was finishing however we were rushed through which was appreciated. Room was nice, lovely added touches which we didn't need so left for the next guests. Nice toiletries in bathroom. It's clearly a popular pub with locals which is great to see.
The smell of gents toilets whilst eating as the table we were given was right next door. The bathroom needs a bit of updating, few places of black mould. One of the towels had stains on. Think dust in the radiator grill will need cleaning before heating goes on. Thick dust around sash window however it is on the main road. No decaf coffee option at breakfast.

The room was really nice, recently refurbished, very clean, nice little extra bits toiletries, bottle water and a bed tray, plenty of tea, coffee.milk biscuits etc. Bed, duvet and pillows very comfortable. Breakfast was super well cooked and nicely presented. A special thanks to Jenson and all his staff. Who made us feel welcome. Entertainment over christmas was great. Will be recommending to family and friends. We hope to return soon and looking forward to booking for xmas 2025. We would rate this accommodation as 5 star
There was nothing we didn't like

A nostalgic visit for me, as I know the area. The room wasn't very big, but had coffee/tea facilities and TV. The bed was really comfy. We only had one night, which was perfect for what we needed. A good breakfast was included, making this stay an excellent price. A big plus is the free, off-road parking.
The only complaint would be the traffic noise from early morning, as our room overlooked the main road. Some soundproofing on the windows could help, but would be a problem in summer without air-conditioning. The shower was a bit of a squeeze to comfortably relax.
