Lovely pub, great beer garden...kept my 8 year old entertained! The cooked breakfast was a proper pub breakfast. Very hearty and filling! The beds were very comfy and my wife and son slept really well...I'm one of those odd people that takes a couple of nights to get used to a new bed! We were in room 2 which overlooked the beer garden and it was a huge room. There isn't a lot around so the pub is the central hub/feature of this area. We were there for the music and beer festival so we're well entertained. It is only a short drive from both Weymouth and Dorchester. I would stay here again. What was nice is that the staff called me to inform me that the beer and music festival was on and that they were able to put an extra bed in the room for my 8 year old. The fact that we booked due quite close to our stay, due to being let down by Haven...who cancelled our original booking...this place was a god send and thankfully had availability for us to stay...the rest of Weymouth was fully booked!
Food was on the pricier side, (£20-£25pp) but if the breakfast is anything to go by, which was very tasty, I can see why!

What’s not to like! It was a slide of heaven! Firstly the village itself is incredibly cute, like something from a postcard. Secondly, the premises look like they have been refurbished, so the decor is top notch. Thirdly, the hospitality was probably the best I’ve ever experienced in the UK. We were three Scottish girls escaping London for the weekend, and Jules and her team made sure to include us in the burns night celebrations they were hosting, and honestly it was the highlight of our whole trip. Thank you to the incredible staff for such a memorable and beautiful experience!
Absolutely nothing to dislike

I liked the fact it was so dog friendly and the staff were lovely. The bedroom was a good size and very comfortable and I appreciated the fan. The shower was excellent. It was also convenient as it’s very near the venue where I was competing.
The fact that there was no garden with grass and to get to grass I had to walk the dogs up a fairly busy main road with no pavement. I also thought it was quite expensive and it wasn’t ideal not being able to arrive before 5.30pm.

We had nice rooms, comfy beds, good showers, clean and tidy throughout but still a bit of dust here and there. Breakfast was ok although it took a while to come even though we were the only ones at the table. Was provided with an iron when I asked for it.
We arrived and had to wait almost 1h for the check in as they close the place for the afternoon, which was new to me, never heard of that before and didn't remember reading anything about that either. This meant our time at the beach got shortened. We got allocated two rooms with double beds when I clearly requested at least one of the rooms to have two single beds. Thankfully there was the family suite available and we got our rooms swapped, so no issues after all.

Welcoming registration and plenty of parking at rear of property. Had dinner and breakfast and both exceeded expectations of a country pub. Staff polite, attentive and helpful throughout. Good size room and good shower (no bath). Called the black dog and lots of little touches to remind you of this. Dog friendly.
Hot water tap didn't get hot (although shower heated up quickly). Stairs rather steep. Only one draught beer and one draught cider available despite advertising real ales plural.

Me and my son stayed for 2 nights. The room was lovely and clean and had everything we needed in there. Housekeeping came the second day to ask if we needed anything :) The lady at breakfast both mornings Donna her name was, she was so lovely my son kept saying over and over how nice she was ! And she really was such a lovely person, the breakfast was 10/10 !! Would definitely stay again, my son definitely wants to go back. Thank you for making our stay the best it could be xxx

The staff were lovely and very obliging. The weather was very hot and they found us a fan at our request, and they also allowed us to have a cereal breakfast earlier than their advertised time. We also had a very nice meal in the pub
The bed was in an area of the room with no windows and it felt a bit like sleeping in a cupboard. The en suite could have done with updating. The carpets need cleaning or replacing in the communal corridors.

Welcoming and friendly team from check in to check out. Starting with Kate and Emma who greeted with acknowledging smiles as engaged on entry. The atmosphere was inviting with "locals" engaging and recommending accommodation & meals They weren't wrong the food was exceptional. Evening meal had plenty of options to choose from. Room was comfortable, clean with good hospitality tray. Bathroom supplies were of good standard and included shower cap. Breakfast was served by the delightful Donna who explained options available and genuinely could do enough for us. The eggs benedict was amazing.
I had a room by the road which at times was noisy. Nothing that could be controlled.

Great pub with hotel rooms, staff very friendly, lovely food clean and tidy with exceptional breakfast, would stay again.
Got there at 4.00 pm as traveling on business and found out they dont open until 5.30, bit disappointing having to wait in car park for 1.5 hours when i would normally be in the room doing some work until later. Luckily a staff member arrived at 5.00 so just an hour to wait, so dont arrive early. Lovely big room but the TV very small on the wall could do with a bigger TV in the room i was in.
