Everything was perfect! The setting is beautiful, the building was a lovely place to be and immaculately decorated. The bedrooms were cosy and inviting, beds comfortable and the bathrooms were spotless. The tea facilities in the bedroom were much appreciated and the amount of tv channels was a surprise!! The breakfast was awesome and we were only sorry that we could only join for breakfast on the first day! Finally, Jonathan was a brilliant host, incredibly friendly and really made you feel like you were staying in a family run establishment.

There was nothing we didn't like!

comfortable modern room with lovely views, plenty of amenities and consideration for guests comfort. clean and nicely presented. excellent breakfast with plenty of choice on the menu, friendly and helpful service at check in, the bar and breakfast. was very impressed that hot drinks tray in the room included not only regular tea and coffee but also decaf coffee, herbal and fruit tea, hot chocolate, biscuits and oat milk alongside the regular milk. the mint on the bed was also a nice touch.

it was a little bit stressful trying to fit travel plans round the very specific check in times.

All well except for a little disappointment with breakfast and house keeping service

Breakfast could have included some fruit option. Housekeeping a little sloppy: duvet not straightened within cover and once left hanging out of bottom of cover. Only once did we ask for replacement towels but inadvertently one bath towel was left on rail. only one bath towel(understandable) was left but only one hand towel. Due to the heat we were using the towels frequently. No spare toilet rolls left one day.

Lovely traditional country pub set in a quiet village near Dorchester. Lovely decor. Staff very obligatory and kind, nothing too much trouble and chocolates on arrival as it was a birthday celebration. Food excellent and varied. Excellent Chef in post, lamb and fish dishes were super and cooked to perfection Breakfast lovely. Complimentary tea, coffee, water, biscuits and toiletries.

Breakfast: It would be nice to be able to have a small amount of cereal and cooked items as a choice, not either or! Room: towels not changed despite leaving on floor, but replaced swiftly when we called Reception. Door light: over the door there was an emergency green light on the ceiling. This is directly in your eyesight line when sleeping on the left hand side of the bed and was a cause for disturbed sleep as I am light sensitive.

Considering we booked on a last second whim only a few hours before arriving, this Inn was fantastic for the price we paid. We loved the fact you could have a late check in, which worked well for us having been at work until later in the day. The room was perfect, the views were lovely, and the included breakfast was superb. The restaurant looked great too although we decided not to dine as we needed an early start. The inn has two Skittle alleys, a pool table, and darts board, as well as a lovely bar selling a nice selection of drinks should you wish to indulge.

The bathroom extractor fan was very noisy, so we had to turn it off. Needs some maintenance. There also seemed to be rather a lot of spiders inside the building.

Meal sizes are great - 3 course evening meal left me well stuffed! Good choice of drinks. Way out in the country and far from everyday distractions - dead quiet. Full breakfast would keep you going all day long. Gorgeous deer in the field next door - way better than any TV!

Minor issues in the bathroom (Court Room) that were frustrating but didn’t spoil the trip - Wash-hand basin plug seal needs renewing - seal around the shower head needs replacing. Everything else brilliant.

The New Inn is a beautifully renovated building, in quiet village location with narrow lanes , as you’d expect. Our room was clean and had a very comfortable, huge bed. A well stocked hospitality tray with everything you could possibly want, teas, coffee biscuits, even bottles of water. In the dining area the tables were well placed giving plenty of space between. We had an evening meal, there were plenty of choices available, good quality and presentation . The same goes for breakfast the next morning. As a bonus we visited Monkey World on our way home as it wasn’t far away.

The food was very good and the staff friendly and efficient. It was a very attractive building with good decor inside and out. The location was great, very rural but with easy access to Dorchester and other areas of beautiful Dorset.

The shower head was in need of attention as was obviously full of limescale and the door seal leaked badly. We were disappointed with the standard of housekeeping. On returning to our room on both days the duvet had been flung back on the bed very haphazardly and the runner was trailing on the floor on one day. The pillows had not been plumped and straightened. Also the mugs had not been washed. Also there a film of scum in the wash basin which we had to clean off before we could use it.

Excellent staff who were all very helpful. Great communication through e-mails during booking and leading up to check in. The property was spotless and surrounded by a beautiful setting. The room we booked was bigger than expected (a bonus). Biscuits, water, tea and small chocolates left for us to enjoy were a thoughtful touch. The breakfast was set out very nicely, excellent service and foood. Very impressed. Thank you

The only downside was that the room was extremely hot during our stay (weather was beautiful). Only 1 fan provided, maybe could have done with 2. (But no fault of The New Inn- as we didn't ask for another). Windows didn't open much either. Maybe something to bear in mind for future bookings. (Please note- this is not a complaint)

Picturesque and quiet location but close enough to drive to the Jurassic coast. The bedrooms were clean and fresh. The beds very comfortable and really nice pillows and duvets. The team were friendly and would highly recommend the restaurant for dinner. The breakfast also was really good. Overally would visit again and very good value for money.

Only downside was the room was very warm. Luckily it’s so quiet outside you could sleep with the window open but if it’s +25c would be different matter as the fan didn’t do much. Also would like blackout curtains and full length mirror in bedrooms.
