Comfortable and spacious room, wonderful view. Peaceful and quiet. Fantastic bed (comfortable mattress, and very roomy). The coffee bags (both caffeinated and decaf) were especially appreciated, as were the biscuits and the bottled water. Temperature very easy to control. Good bathroom / shower. Staff friendly and attentive, and sorted out minor problems promptly.

The level of lighting. Although there were many lights, none were especially bright. A light / lamp directly above the bed would have been appreciated for easier reading. The coffee cups were very small, but a member of staff kindly got us bigger ones when we requested them. We thought that £16 per person for breakfast was excessive, so we didn't book this. A cheaper option for continental breakfast would have been a helpful alternative.

The breakfast was a let down on christmas day we went to the dining room to find the tables were being set for christmas dinner.We then told that we had to take our breakfast to our room as we couldn't use the dinning room. We were offered a bacon or sausage in a roll, no cooked breakfast, and a selection of cereal etc. The biggest problem once we had accumulated our breakfast was the problem of no trays to take it to our rooms. The staff seemed embarrassed to this situation.We not happy as we were not informed of this awkward situation when we booked breakfast the day before.

We enjoyed being in a very different environment and were fascinated by Poundbury. We appreciated being able to bring our dog and that we could choose between having her with us at all times, or not, for eating. The staff were very pleasant and I especially appreciated a nice chat with the manager(?) as I paid on departure. I was a little disappointed with the layout of our room as it was quite narrow, but enjoyed the views. Access was easy. Breakfasts were unfailingly good and for the 3 evening meals we required, the menu was fine.

We were well satisfied thank you. It might have been useful to have access to a few brochures re places of interest.

We visited for our 60th wedding anniversary on 5th September and were allocated a room with bath, but at our advanced years felt this might be prove difficult so this was changed quickly and easily at check-in to another with a shower. We had breakfast on both days and dinner on 4th, which was excellent. We had arranged dinner for 6 of the family on 5th and were allocated a table on the first floor which was very pleasant. The room was larger than expected and the bed very comfortable, with wonderful country views. All of the staff were very welcoming and efficient.

As there were many stairs the lift was a necessity and rather alarming at times, but we understand that it is being attended to.

Dog friendly and unsure when booked as the cost was far lower than anyone close-by at just over £80pn. Realized upon arrival it was King Charles' development to deliver old British standards and way of living of the past, quite unlike that decreed by Government - fantastic surrounding private properties (expensive) with lots of open spaces and free parking throughout the complex. Pub was really lovely as were the staff - we arrived quite late on a Sunday and the the Sunday carvery was a mere £10 each (£18+ normally) - fantastic and very tasty. Breakfast had so much choice as well as cereals & lovely pastries. The room was huge! Amazingly decorated using the best quality linen - High quality mattress as used in the 'White House'. Bathroom again very tasteful using top quality items. Set in a large square with shops all around you and a short walk if wanting to walk off your food. Excellent idea if you can afford to live there.

The initial appearance - all lit up at night - was absolutely stunning. Great inside too . Room very comfortable and unique style - lovely decor , good to have a bath as well as a shower, nice touch with the little blue night light in the bathroom for middle of the night loo visits! Unfortunately, I could only stay for one night and didn't have chance to sample the food offerings. Please could you pass on my grateful thanks to Freddie who checked me out and listened to my reason for my visit . Could you tell him that everything went REALLY well - and who knows what the future may bring 💘 - he will know what I mean 😉.

The stunning appearance of the building, the interesting character of the decor throughout. Our room was spotlessly clean. It was warm so we appreciated being able to open the window. The large bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. The staff that we had serve us were polite, helpful and pleasant although not in uniform? Our evening meal was really tasty and the choice of cocktails was fun. It was interesting to be able to read the guide about the history of Poundbury and the info booklet was helpful. The tea and coffee making facilities in our room were nice. The decor of our room was lovely, again with character.

I was disappointed that the water pressure from the bath taps was so low, that I couldn’t run a deep bath. After a long time of waiting it was a very shallow bath and only tepid warm too. We also found the TV channels difficult to use/ confusing. Whilst there was a chilled bottle of Prosecco left in our room it was unclear if it was complimentary or if we would be charged for it. So we declined to have it. The lighting in our room was also a bit dim for putting on makeup etc. I would have liked to see Eggs Benedict on the breakfast menu but there was a good choice otherwise.

The room was very spacious and very comfortable. Some really nice touches like turning down the bed etc. Plenty of water, tea and coffee. No wardrobes or drawer space though - which was a little strange. No bother since e were only there 2 nights but would be a little difficult for a longer stay.

Breakfast! Took our order (table of 9 people). Waitress repeated it back perfectly...... that's when it all went wrong! Wrong dishes arrived. Some dishes didn't arrive. Some dishes were missing items ordered e.g. one guest simply wanted toast butter and jam. Toast arrived...... 20 minutes later still no sign of butter or jam. One guest never got their breakfast despite complaints to server. Complained to management who happened to be brewery area manager visiting!

We booked room 2, as it looked nice from internet pictures, but it was not serviced when we arrived, so the lovely Kai, who,knew it was booked for my husbands birthday, apologised and upgraded us to an indulgence room at no extra cost. We did wander around with our bags for 20 minutes whilst this was sorted, so they included a free dinner, as we had booked for birthday burger! The service in the restaurant was excellent and the food superb. I had w starters, very tasty crunchy cauliflower with spicy sauce and chicken skewer, very fresh flavours. Hubby had his birthday burger, delicious- followed by pud. So dealt with perfectly - thank you so much. 😊

The weather - hey ho

The full English breakfast is excellent and served efficiently by friendly staff in a delightful spacious dining room. The ability to park outside the hotel at no charge is a huge bonus and an invaluable rare asset to the hotel.

We have stayed with you on several occasions over some years now. This last visit was arranged at short notice and the room choices were understandably limited, but the price paid for a 'superior room' was disappointing when we have had larger more spacious rooms in the past for a more modest sum. Your lift is beginning to need refurbishment judged by its creaking and the downgrading from 8 persons to 2 persons and 2 pieces of luggage.
