I liked how clean and comfortable the property is. Vikki is amazing, she is incredibly knowledgeable about the area, and surrounding areas. She helped me to figure bus and train routes. There is also a book about the area and good places to eat, and a drawer in the bathroom that has little things in it such as toothpaste, dry shampoo and things you might forget to pack. cute little touches such as mini cheddars, chocolates on your pillow. Gary her husband was nice enough to give me a lift to the train station. Breakfast lovely and hot and there is a choice out what hot options that you would like as well as yoghurts, fruit, cereal and cereal bars and then apple, orange juice, tea and coffee I will definitely be returning and bringing my family with me too.

We chose this B & B at random because of the location, but it's a complete gem, within easy walking distance of the town and restaurants. We stayed twice, in room 4 and room 1 respectively (on our way to and from Scotland), both were lovely - so well appointed and with lots of little extra touches you don't often see in a B & B such as spare toiletries, hot chocolate as an option along with the teas and coffees, etc. Beautifully decorated and with very comfortable beds - very quiet so had an excellent nights' sleep on both occasions. Breakfast is amazing, it will set you up for the day and Vickie, the landlady, is absolutely lovely and very helpful with recommendations etc. Penrith is the perfect halfway point from Bristol where we live to Scotland, and when we go back up Scotland way, we will definitely head back to this B & B again.

Couldn't think of anything they haven't already thought of!

When I arrived at Abbey House B&B, the building was in good repair and well kept. I managed to get a parking space right outside. On arrival, I received a warm, friendly welcome from Vickie, the owner, and she kindly carried my case upstairs. Although I was a solo traveller, the room I was given was a double. The layout was great and had a modern, stylish bathroom. Plenty tea, coffee, and refreshments. The bed was clean and comfy, and I had a great sleep, even though on a main road, hardly any noise was heard. Hot breakfast was preordered and was great. There was also a good choice of cereal and cereal bars. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay and would definitely go back if holidaying in that area again.

Booked for a one night stay after an activities day in the lakes. Communication prior to arrival was great with there is convenient parking at the front of the B&B. The host, Vickie, greeted us on arrival and was lovely and friendly. The room and ensuite bathroom were immaculate, very modern with everything you needed. Nice little touches like home made cake, shortbread, cheese snacks and a chocolate on the pillow were well received. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely fantastic and finished our stay off nicely. Will definitely be staying here again when next in the area.

Very nice B&B near the town centre. Tastefully decorated and had lots of little extra touches in the room which was nice. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. The owner was friendly and communication was good throughout the check in process. Breakfast was pre ordered the night before and there was a plentiful choice of menu items. I enjoyed my overnight stay and would recommend.

Parking was difficult when I first arrived but after driving around a few times, managed to get a spot right outside the front door, so worked out fine in the end.

Was it luck? Or is it always like it?? (Parking) Outside, after hours was free. It was easy to gain access and pick up our key. The staircase was wide and allowed us to carry our luggage up without any problems. Breakfast was as good as I could have wished for. I think it was individually cooked rather than cooked and stored en-mass until served.

We only stayed one night so it met our needs and expectations. There was free parking for a set time limit in the multi storey carpark but this did fit in with our arrival time and the free on road parking from 6pm

A lovely house in a central location. The bedroom was beautifully decorated and the bathroom, although on the small side, was very clean and had a good array of toiletries. Breakfast was served in a spacious dining room. The preordered food was nicely served and very good.

It was a very hot and humid night and we really had to open the window but the traffic noise was constant. However, we did find a very useful fan in the wardrobe which made a great difference.

The breakfast was amazing, plenty of choice for cereals and fruits etc, and a lovely full english breakfast to set us up for the day! We stayed twice - on our way up to and back from Scotland and the town is ideally located for a mid-way stop off point. The property is close to the town centre so within easy walking distance of local eateries. Vickie is a brilliant landlady and we will definitely be returning when we go back to Scotland.

We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room with separate en-suite shower room . Host Vicky recommended several Italian Restaurants and The Indian restaurant which she favoured. We walked around the town and settled on the Indian. We were not disappointed. The breakfast was excellent and we were hard put to empty our plates. Best get there early for parking in the back yard. The front parking place is on a busy road approaching traffic lights.

Lovely warm welcome and a spacious, well equipped, quiet room with en suite shower. Very comfortable bed and such a lot of extras from toiletries to edible treats. Vickie went out of her way to provide the requested fat free yoghurt at breakfast, which had a wide choice of dishes and was perfectly cooked and presented. We would happily pay more to stay in such a well positioned and presented accommodation.

Truly a great stay - we enjoyed everything.
