Access was easy, staff were great, bed was comfortable, bathroom was small but very clean and functional, room (#5) was quiet given the property is on a busy road, and parking was free. It only takes 7 minutes to walk to Christ Church with plenty to see on the way, and a little further to most of the other famous Oxford sites. There are several eating options within a few minutes' walk as well.

Given Newton House provides accommodation only, it would have been nice to have a small refrigerator and some basic crockery and utensils, but we understand that there wasn't a lot of spare room. Otherwise, there was nothing we didn't like.

Location, although not in the town centre is a very pleasant 10 mins walk in, there are many busses frequently passing the route should you prefer. House was very quiet, both from a residence point of view and insulation, we had no traffic noise in our front of house room. Our Rooms were very clean with service options each day.

Our bathroom was a little snug, however a small shelf for a make up bag would have been appreciated. Also individual packets of morning biscuits on the tea/coffee tray would have been appreciated to go with first cup of the day as there is no breakfast room. We did have breakfast everyday of our stay, in the Paperboat cafe on the Folly bridge which is on the walk into town. Sat outside on a sunny morning and inside on windy day. Perfect location and lovely choice of food.

Friendly staff, and a warm welcome to the Hostel. All the expected facilities were there and the price was quite fair considering the timing of our booking and the value returned. Recommended for solo travellers who want to walk into Oxford Centre quickly (5 mins walk tops).

In the room I was assigned, every time after using the shower there would be an unpleasant smell coming out from the drains. I reported this to the staff and was told the matter would be looked into.

Great location if your doing the Thames Walk as we were. Only 300 yards from the start. Genial host. No breakfast provided , however the Head of the River pub / restaurant does good (if not pricey) food to have before the walk - The start of which is effectively 10 yards from there. The room was large , quiet and had wi-fi and tea / coffee facilities

Shower could be easier to control - took a while to get the right temperature, otherwise all good. Price was a bit high IMHO , but I suppose this is probably cheap for Oxford.

We had a wonderful room with windows that overlooked the street. While it could be noisy during the day, the street noise did not disrupt our sleep at all during the night. The windows and fan provided in the room kept things cool even during a warm spell in the weather. An electric kettle with tea and coffee fixings were provided in the room. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to Oxford, with a Tesco grocery store on the way - very convenient!

The location of this simple hotel is perfect for those who want to stay a short walk from main attractions of the city. The staff was very nice. They were able to accommodate us even though we arrived early, and the hotel prepared a city map for guests to make their trip easier. The TV has a lot of stations, and WiFi is included in the price. It's also one of the few places we found in the area that offers parking.

There was a small mix up at check in, but it was cleared up very quickly. Our experience would have been enhanced if the stay included a small breakfast.

Proximity to city centre good, shops and good cafes nearby for breakfast and buying sandwiches for lunch. The beds were comfortable, good shower. Quiet at night so you can get a good nights sleep. Not too much noise from adjoining bedrooms. We were on 2nd floor at the back of the house. If you get the front rooms, i imagine it may be noisyas the road is a mian route into Oxford and very busy. . Reading lamp and table next to each bed. Didnt use the TV so couldnt comment on that.

Dont think the shower control works properly but it was at a reasonable temperature

It was very neat n clean. Toiletries, kettle,tea,coffee,sugar all provided. Check in n check out was smooth. No need for the staff to attend. We were allowed to check in before time without any issues, which was wonderful.

Wish there was some space to keep d luggage on a rack or table as it had to put on d floor. Also it would have been good if d bathroom was slightly bigger. This is a tight squeeze for a large person. But both are very minor issues and could be managed. Train station is not at a walking distance. Bus stop is just outside the guest house but one has to change buses to reach the station.

Good location, good size room. Great double glazing so couldn't hear anything from the busy road. Very comfortable single bed (large single) Shower room was functional and plenty of towels.

Booked this place for parking. I got there just after the time for checking in & told no parking, I was told free parking two streets away. I drove around for half hour and couldn't find any. No bottled water to drink. Hot water in sink tap took 15 mins to come through, no exaggeration.

large bed and room with good selection of tea and coffee. Tv with Netflix and the room kept true to its old styling of the building and area. Staff member was very friendly and helpful and a Oxford university student. Free parking on first come basics.

A few light bulbs did not function but not majorly negative. Room still contained previously occupied welcome letter found on bed and generally a little dusty.
