The room was nice and big, seemed to have been renovated within the last couple of years. The location was away from the main town hustle and bustle, but a easy walk down hill to main town. The hike back up the hill was a great forced exercise march. The restaurant service and food was good to very good.

No micro wave in the room or lobby market area. The walk back up the hill if you couldn't find a ride or were just impatient like we were a couple times was tough. Pick-up at the Catalina Express wait time isn't acceptable!!!! Given the amount of money we paid per night I'm expecting a little more personal service.

It had a free shuttle from boat landing to Inn. Also, the shuttle service worked well from Avalon to the resort. They charge a $50.00 per night resort holding fee. I stayed 3 nights and 2 $50.00 holding fees got refunded. One did not, so I’ll have to call to make sure that happens.

Nice California Ranch feel. The food in the restaurant was nice Californian, Mexican Ranch food. I was healthy and tasty. It didn’t have just Mexican foods. I had excellent sandwiches and salads and dinner selections. It also had a small bar, which was also decent and nice. I liked having a nice formal breakfast everyday. I was all quite nice actually.

This was a surprise Birthday trip for my husband. We spent only one night, but we were so very pleased with our stay at Catalina Canyon Inn. We were greeted at the front desk with a smile and a hand-written birthday card for my husband! Our room(504) was clean and had a great view! We could see the Ocean and Avalon Harbor/town through the tropical palms and cheery patio lights. We ate a delicious steak dinner at the restaurant that was so generous in portions that we split the meal and were still stuffed! I tasted my first ever Buffalo Milk drink thanks to the bartender who whipped it up for me with a smile. We were really grateful for the free shuttle service into town. It allowed us to go snorkeling the afternoon of our departure and still make it back to the Inn in time for a bite to eat before catching the Catalina Express back to Dana Point at 5PM. The front desk people were not only friendly but helpful with ideas of what to see in Catalina. Her tip about the new History and Art Museum was great. We really enjoyed learning the dynamic history of the Island so beautifully portrayed at the museum. It was an added bonus and relief that the Inn offered to let us leave our bags in their baggage room while we explored Avalon. That meant we could access our luggage if we needed to between check out time of 11AM and when the boat left at 5PM. If we had been here longer, we would have checked out the heated pool.

Wonderful clean room, quiet location up the hill. There is a shuttle and apparently there's a $2 "uber" like service but we ended up just walking everywhere. The ferry terminal is maybe a 15-20 minute walk, uphill to the hotel.

It says that they won't let you store your bags in their storage room after you check out, which seems a bit prickly. However my guess is if you asked them they may be cool about it. We ended up not needing it.

Room was clean and comfortable and appeared recently remodeled, and I felt a good value for the money. Also, it was dog friendly which was a plus. The restaurant on the property, although not owned by Catalina Canyon Inn, was very good with a wonderful selection at very reasonable prices and the staff was friendly. A shuttle was available all day long to and from downtown and the boat dock.

The staff, from the reception team to the drivers and house keeping team were all amazing and incredibly kind and willing to help. The room was spacious and had a great view. I liked that there was a car frequently picking up and dropping guests in town or at the ferry terminal so mayde it easy to go up and down hill easily.

Sadly the restaurant was closed for renovations so couldn't get Breakfast at the hotel and the wifi coverage wasn't the best and would disconnect depending on what part of the hotel you were in.

Great staff! Very helpful, efficient and caring. Location and setting was great. We thought the room was charming and comfortable. Shower and bathroom was great.

Walls seem thin, easy to hear same level next room conversation. First night, guests directly above us had pretty loud and busy kids jumping and stomping until 10pm. A permissible curfew time but they might have been better suited to a ground level room.

they have a shuttle that runs every 20 minutes from the main street to the inn, as well as from the catalina ferry to the inn. We didn't have to walk unless we were coming back late at night, and even then, its only 0.7 miles from the main street! The location was never an issue! There is a restauraunt but breakfast is not continental. There is a pool with pool towels provided! All this place needs is a hot tub then it would be 10/10!

Room could be cleaner. floor was not vaccummed and we weren't given enough towels!

The staff were incredible! We felt like we were well cared for! The rooms were clean, well-stocked and quiet. The location is peaceful and the restaurant was good. The pool was heated and the kids loved it!

The trade off for the peaceful location is that it’s a bit far from town, so travelers should account for gone time it takes to catch the free hotel shuttle or a taxi (if going to the zip line ecotour).

I loved the trees all around the property. I loved the balcony. I loved that the hotel had a shuttle.

I know the sheets were washed, but some had pee stains. Which means a better detergent is needed. Also if the hotel could have a golf cart to rent would be great. We needed short store runs and late night outings which the shuttle was not available.
