The hotel is very well located in the very centre of Calais in walking distance of some very good restaurants, the best being Le Chanel. It is modern feeling with quite a young vibe. Although there were people of all ages staying there. The front desk wenre helpful and welcoming. We were on the third floor and the lift is good and very quiet. In fact, both our room and our friend's room were very quiet-well sound proofed. Breakfast was a revelation with a very friendly female staff member on duty for the first two mornings. There is an excellent buffet style breakfast with very good choice-excellent cheeses for example and fresh orange juice. It was a very reasonable place to stay. Calais is often overlooked but has worked really hard to create a busy identity and is an easy place to spend a few days. Free little bus in the town and easy access to the huge hypermarket-in summer the beaches are good. We always visit the Cheese and Wine shop which is linked to the Channel restaurant--very good wines and cheeses.

no problems

Centrally located , nice décor in the entrance hall which was spacious, welcoming feel to it. Nice buffet breakfast, helpful staff - they were accommodating with storing our bike. We asked for a quiet room and got a room in the back which indeed was quiet despite the hotel being in the busy central Calais area. The bed was comfy too.

The room was quite small but it could be due to location at the back of the hotel - as we asked for a quiet room didn't really mind the size; given the choice rather have small but quiet room so not complaining.

The women at the desk when I first got there were extremely helpful. I was having difficulty buying a ticket for the ferry the next morning online. They worked very hard on their computers to resolve the issue, but couldn’t. One of them simply suggested that I go down to the pier to try to purchase a ticket… It worked. Without the help of Isabelle, Eloise, or Lorene I might have been in big trouble. So thank you very much, ladies. And the breakfast is excellent.

The room is small. And not much room for luggage…

Friendly staff who speak English. Quick and easy check in/check out. Location in the City Centre so everything is close by. Bus from the Port stops 1 min walk from Hotel, so easy to get to and from. Hotel also has a second building which is quiet and away from the main street. Good buffet breakfast selection which appeared to be topped up regularly.

Second building means you will need a coat to get breakfast if it's raining. Room was small and basic which is good for your very basic needs, but staying more than a couple of days could feel a little claustrophobic. Main street is very loud and noisy at night, so if you're unlucky enough to have a room at the front, you may need earplugs.

We booked a family room, I loved that this comprised of two rooms without an adjoining door, which gave everyone a bit of space. The beds were comfy and the room had a spacious bathroom. We prebooked a parking space around the back and in was in a secure gated compound with access to the hotel. We had breakfast included and this was plentiful, with lots of choice for everyone. We had full stomachs when we checked out. The hotel is in a great location next to a bakery and close to several restaurants and bars. It is also close to the beach too. We stayed there as were travelling on the tunnel the next day, it is only 20mins to the tunnel.

We were very happy with our room, the only small thing that would have made our stay better would be a smaller light in the bathroom that could be used at night.

This was my third stay at Ibis Calais, I strongly recommend booking a double room - it was very spacious and I had a room overlooking a quiet street. There is a bath which I saw as a blessing after two months of backpacking. It is close to local bars and restaurants and it has a 24 hour reception, so if you're like me and stay out till 5am you'll be fine. The free breakfast was a lovely touch and the smell of freshly baked goods was beautiful. 10/10

The television was broken in my room. That's it!

Easy to reach from the port, with comfortable accommodation, effective sound proofing with the windows closed and blackout curtains. Bar is open until midnight for residents. Good selection for breakfast (pastries, cold meats, cheese, cereals, boiled eggs, pancakes, 3-4 types of bread.

Parking can be difficult, although we have arrived around 22:50 on a couple of occasions and found a space on the street after a few circuits of the block, as people vacate the restaurants. Remember to move the car off the street by 09:00 when the parking meters come into effect. Water seeped under the shower screen so we had a puddle around the toilet.

Central location , excellent staff

We had stayed the night before in a similar IBIS hotel in Limoges , we expected the same facilities in this one , we always stay in an IBIS hotels throughout Europe and the U k , sadly this one in Calais looked a tad tired and the breakfast was only half of what we got the night before Would we stay there again , Yes we would , but it could have been better

Very good location in Calais. Nice modern hotel. Breakfast choice was good and prices were reasonable. Also staff on front desk were helpful even though there was a mix up with all our bookings.

Mix up with the bookings. Some of our party had booked directly, some using booking.com so some people didn't have a booking at all. But staff rectified this.

Breakfast was so good Its phenomenal value for money. The bar areas was cool. Good UK channels on the telly Parking Really chilled vibe

The corridor smelled of bleach - at least hopefully that meant it was clean (which it seemed to be!) Tiny telly Paper cups - would prefer glass to be more eco friendly We stayed twice this summer - on our way in and out of the UK - the second time we had no hot water in our bathroom in the morning
